  1. Have any one being having problem calling NVC staff to obtain case status?

I have been calling since Monday morning and the line has been busy all day. I called earlier this morning and got voice message that NVC is unable to provide immigrant case status at this thims and I should call back later. I called again three hours later and the phone was busy and have remain busy since then. The number I called is 603-334-0700. Any other number to check on my case status will be appreciated.

  2. Petition was transfered from NBC to Los Angeles Field Office in January 4, 2013; Went to my inforpass appointment yesterday to inquire about case status and processing time; Was not pleased with ISO response to series of my questions, Left appointment disapointed, Received email alert this morning that case is approve. I not certain that going there to speak with ISO help the process but it did not hurt it either.

  3. National Benefit Center, Missouri

Priority day is November 29, 2012

Called USCIS to check on case status in Feburary 2013

Spoke with ISO who inform that case was transfered to Los Angeles Field Office on January 4, 2014

Scheduled online InforPass appoitment for March 5, 2013 with Los Angeles Field Office to inquire about processing timeline and plan to process I-130 from NBC

Appointment with ISO went well however, Los Angeles Field Office has no plan in place to start processing I-130 from NBC. According to ISO, I-130 is not a priority for Field Office and there is no timeline for I-130 processing in the Field Office.

Expressed my disapoinment with the system and my empathy for Field Officers for the I-130 work overload.

Received email alert the same day that address was changed.

Called USCIS and spoke with ISO that I did not request address changed.

ISO stated email was generated in error due to glitch in thier system

Received email alert this morning that patition is approve.

Is it pure luck or coincidence?

I am really grateful to the Almighty.

    The journey continue

  4. You are not alone. There have been many couples who were denied for the same reason. Engagement celebrations could come across as a traditional wedding if it is over done. K-1 petitions are denied more so than approved in Nigeria. As I found out when I first joined VJ that the US Consulate in Nigeria is the toughest one to deal with. Info I learned about too late. Still, one lives with hope that in time this too shall pass.

I assume you are filing CR-1 now? I wish you all the luck and God's blessings in your VJ.

Thank you LoveNigeriamostyle. My petition for the CR-I is already three month in the pipeline now. I just found out that my petition was transferred to Los Angeles Field Office which means it could take longer than the approximate five month processing time for CR-I. Now, I am looking at possibly twelve months processing time due to large immigrant population in Los Angeles. I need all the luck I can get with this snail craw processing.

  5. My then fiancee now wife K-I petition was denied after the officer viewed our engagement pictures. The interview officer told my fiancée that our wedding was too extravagant and our engagement is consider a traditional marriage under Nigeria law. she issued the denial letter with that reason and advised that I should file CR-I petition for a spouse. K-I petition received more denial in Nigeria than any other countries.

  6. How long does it take to get a packet 3 and K 1 Visa appoitment in Lagos US Consulate office. Also, when do you start the Medical Test and Police Report clearance. My fiancee package will arrived in Lagos this week and I would like to know when to ask her to start the process.

  7. I just hope this set back doesn't take more than one month... My fiancee and I had so many plans for the summer, and it seems like she won't be here before summers ends.

Kevymanuel, Just to provide you an update to our case situation. I received an email from UCSIS on Tuesday that my case has been approved and sent to NVC; and, yesterday I received second NOA2 approving the case again effective June 26, 2012. This is roughly 2 months after the first NOA2 approva. I hope the case is sent to NVC this time around and best of luck with your case.

  8. Hi everyone,

    Need some input here!

Our I-129F was approved and notified by USCIS on May 16 (case processed at CSC). My fiance received the approval notice in the mail stating the next steps.

So it's been more than a month and we didn't hear from NVC. My fiance called NVC today and NVC said they did not receive our case from USCIS. Oh man. Then he called USCIS and USCIS said they'll review our case and respond in 5 days. Also, the person from NVC told my fiance on the phone that USCIS "may" have forwarded the case to the consulate (where I'm currently residing) directly. Well, I thought this was quite impossible.

Has anyone experienced such a situation before????

Your case may have been mistakenly sent to National Record Center (NVC); a storage facility for USCIS inactive file.

My case was approved on April 30 and was never received by National Visa Center (NVC). After so many email exchanges with USCIS and NVC, I was notified that my case was located at NRC instead of NVC. I am still awaiting the case to be sent back to USCIS for another review and approval then to NVC. There is no processing time available so it can take another 5 months. I wish you good luck with your case.

  9. Give em a call every day until you figure something out, make sure the petition is being forwarded to the right embassy.

All i-129f petitions travel through NVC. NVC assigns the embassy case number, USCIS can't do that. The petition might be in NVC's possession but not logged into their system yet. That means they can't give you any info. Other times it's a matter of the rep not being able to see any updates. That was the case when I called(however it didn't take a month).

Some months ago, there was a delay in processing times at the service centers. Some months simply have more petitions than others. So when there's a bottleneck at one place and this is a multi stage process, then there's got to be a bottleneck at other stages as well. NVC one of them.

Your case may have been mistakenly sent to National Record Center (NVC); a storage facility for USCIS inactive file.

My case was approved on April 30 and was never received by Nationa Visa Center (NVC). After so many email exchanges with USCIS and NVC, I was notified that my case was located at NRC instead of NVC. I am still awaiting the case to be sent back to USCIS for another review and approval then to NVC. There is no processing time available so it can take another 5 months. I wish you good luck with your case.

  10. If your approval letter was dated a month and over and NVC is telling you that they don't have your petition, your case may have been mistakenly sent to National Record Center (NRC) instead of National Visa Center (NVC) by USCIS. National Record center is a storage facility for inactive petition and sometimes cases are mistakenly sent there to keep by USCIS. My case currently fall into that category and NVC has requested USCIS to retrieve the case and send it to them. However, it might take 90 days or more to retrieve the case, review it again to ensure all the documents are enclosed and send the petition. This is definitely a set back but we shall overcome the obstacles. I wish you best of luck with your situation.

  11. I received the same email... I sopke to someone in Customer service, and he told me that even though our case was approved, the USCIS will have to review it again to ensure everything is ok... he told me that sometimes this make take up to 90 days...

Let's keep in touch and help each other... it seems like we are in the same exact situation.

    Have you contacted your congressman?

I did and I was informed that an inquiry will be sent to NVC and USCIS a day before I received NVC email. It is very hard to be patient when people that file after you are moving along with the process and we are stagnant in one place. We need God intervention in this situation. I will keep you posted with new update as it arise.

  12. I recevied my NOA2 on April 30th. Since then I have been calling the NVC but they calimed not have recieved my case; I scaned a copy of my NOA2 and sent it to the NVC research unit. I also contacted my congressman's office and asked for assistance.

Today I received an email from the NVC stating that USCIS found my case, and that it was at the NRC (National Records Center). The letter says that they are going to review my case, before sending it to the NVC..

Now, i am kinda relief because at least my case was found, and I know where it is. however, I am scared because I dont know how long this "Review" tipically takes. I mean they approved my case, shouldn't they just send my case to the NVC?

well, the NVC's email says to allow "AMPLE TIME" so this review gets done...

Has anyone heard about this??? is there a time frame I should wait???

Please Help I am truly going insane...

    thank you

This is the copy of the email you referenced that I also received this morning:

    Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) contacted U.S.

Citizenship Immigration Service (USCIS) in regards to your approved

petition. USCIS has informed us that your petition is currently located

at the (NATIONAL RECORDS CENTER - NRC). USCIS (CALIFORNIA SERVICE

CENTER - CSC) have requested this file; they will review this file and

inform NVC with location/status of your petition. Please allow ample

time for USCIS to process their review.

If you have an updated address for the petitioner, please provide USCIS

with that information at your earliest convenience so they may update

    their records.

Our petitions was approved at the same month and day and was sent to the same place, NRC instead of NVC. I cannot fathom how government agency of that magnitude cannot differentiate between NVC and NRC. I understand that mistake does happen but how many people had have their petition lost due to this dumb mistake. Anyway, I hope they retrieve the case from their inactive case storage and send it to the right place. I wish both of us good luck.

  13. Well, nothing has changed on my case... I keep calling the NVC and they keep telling me they haven't received my case...

I was also told to send an email to nvcresearch@state.gov, and today I got a reply stating that they could not find my case...

I just called the USCIS and they told me they definetely sent my case, and that it should be at the NVC...

Guys, I honestly dont know what to do... I am really afraid of being one of those cases that take for ever to get resolve...

    Any advise?????

We are in the same situation. What you explained here is exactly what I have been going through. I was told to call back after 15 working days of receipt of NOA 2 to conduct another research. Mine will be 15 working days on Wedsday because of Monday labor day holiday. I am about to loose my faith in the system.

  14. I also make over 70K but just to be safe I listed everything, house, retirement, life insurance and provided proof of all of it.... I guess I just don't want any reason to be denied... But truly, your income is enough. It does not have to be notarized. Good luck!

Thank you Sir, for you quick input.

I have the deed to the house in hand but I dont want to go through appraiser becuase that will be another expense for me. Also, my retirements and life insurance are showing on my pay stubs every month and getting in contact with the companies to get document may be difficult task. I work for the government.

  15. I am getting ready to start gathering all the document to send to my fiance for her upcoming K-1 Visa interview in one of the difficult US Consulate in African and I would like to ensure she has all the necessary document ready for that day. I am employed with government and makes over 70K per year, do i still need to list other things like house, bonds, stocks etc on the I-134 Affidavit of Support or my income alone will suffice? Also, do I need to notarized the I-134 or it is not necessary? I would appreciate input from people that passed through US Consulate in Nigeria and were successful with thier K-1 Visa. ALL other that know more about document that is generally acceptable is also welcome for input. Thanks.

  16. Welcome to the forum.

Have you contacted NVC for case file number? Here is change of address info, USCIS Change of address.

Good luck on your visa journey.

The change of address is for my fiancee in foreign country. The USCIS change of address site is for pending cases and for petitioner that resides in US. I have not contact NVC yet and I dont know if they can do the change while the case is still here.

  17. I recently received NOA2 for I-129F petition for my fiancee; however, it just came to my attention that her address is missing one important city name. The mail I sent her recently was sent back to me due to incorrect address. I believe her file is at NVC waiting to be processed for US Consulate delivery. Is there any possible way I can add the city/ correct the error while the package is still at NVC? OR what can I do to resolve this address address mistake?

  18. I am happy to announce that I received NOA2 text and email last night despite my error of not sending the document at once as requested. The USCIS-CSC were still able to make correct decision when the second document was delivered to them. The whole RFE decision took 13 days from the delivery of the first document. I guess it is okay to send partial document when you don't have all document as requested. Although, I will not recommend doing it that way; however, if you made error for not sending requested document at once, you can send the other document later but ensure you are within the time allowable in your notice. Thanks to those who ease my fear when I was going through the RFE issue. Your response to my post is highly appreciated.

  19. The documents were sent within 3 days apart. The RFE was received on Saturday and the first document was sent in the self addressed envelope on the same day. The second document was sent on Monday, certified mail, with the copy of the RFE letter and it was delivered on Wednesday. However, my case status was changed on Tuesday to RFE received and in process. Would the second document be combined with the first document to complete the request? Or would the second document be ignored while the application is being evaluated?

  20. Has anyone received RFE and sent partial documents and later, within the allowable time period, sent the rest of the documents or complete document? It happens to me and I am so scare now that my application might be denied for not sending the whole documents at once. Please share your experince or your knowledge with me.
