  1. I don't know if it's because I just contacted my Senator (still haven't heard a word from yet) But after almost 6 months in AP and almost 2 years since the start of this long journey the embassy called us and requested us to drop off the passport with another medical and another police clearance because the fiance visa has been approved. I believe I can fly. I believe I can touch the sky. Thank you to all my visjourney friends. Hang in there. Your time you will come. Yes, I know how it feels to hear that with nothing happening. Good luck to all.

Congrats! Can't wait to hear you have the visa in hand!

  2. Excellent ! When's the pond jump? (airplane ride to USA)

    and

can tell us of the date span on your visa? does it span 6 months, or is less than 6 months?

    Hey thanks!

I will leave on June 21st. and it took me abt 9 months to finish the whole process. we started the last week of last August. my interview date is March 20th, AP clearance notice was received on May 14th, and received the visa packet on June 1st.

    Take care buddy!

  3. no idea, cannot forecast, as

    you're in a new queue.

so you've a new spot in a new queue.

could be 5 days, could be 8 weeks.

However, the one entity that knows for 'after the fact' is the DoS Hotline.

Call DoS Hotline (# in my profile, click the girls, study left panel) then call every 2 days, asking for casefile status.

At some point, you'll hear about 'visa packet sent' and that's the timetick that's useful, as the visa packet will arrive within 2 weeks after.

Since you got a blue slip, there is possibility that your duration dates on the visa will have lessened, so pay attention to the dates printed on the visa. you might not have 6 months to transit to usa, it might be less time. pay attention to the dates on the visa stamp, when you get yer passport back and

in the interim, please to study cooking. cooking the foods you like is a great way to overcome homesick when you are in usa.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I will email the embassy and inquire after one week. Oh actually i thought i was still in the same queue as i still don't grab the visa in hand. hah,,

Actually i can cook some dishes, i am just not a jiaozi person, don't miss it even when idon't have it for along time, so... haa.. but thanks very muc for the advice.

  4. don't forget the IV unit's website portal thingie:

    http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html

Here's a sample email you can write to them.

Dear Sirs - On (date) I was given a blue slip for CCP. I understand my case is in administrative processing or review, and wanted to inquire about the status of my case (GUZ123459884) . Were you able to conclude your investigation, or do you require additional information from me or my prior work unit?

    Warmest Regards,

    Sally Petitioner

Thx!! yeah we contatced the embassy and it's still under AP. guess we have to be more patient. i will keep an eye on the link u sent to me. Thx again for thinking abt my issue all the time. you are really a great help!

  5. Just because the website says you have to wait 2 months to contact the US Embassy does not mean that you have to do as they say. It just means that the US Embassy wants to cut down on contacts because it is legally obligated to answer them (normally within 7 days). However, this does not mean that you will receive a good answer. They will say that your case is "still under administrative processing" and "although an exact time-frame is not known" they will notify your fiancee when it is concluded - or wording very similar. Best advice: contact your Senator for assistance.

Thanks very much for the advice. I sent the status inquiry email to GZ and my fiance called the DOS too, we just got the same answer that the case is still under administrative processing.i don't think my fiance has the senator or sth like that. guess this is really noth much here we can do besides waiting. thanks very much anyway:))

  6. what news from calling the DoS Hotline?

Usually, if you ask for casefile status, they will NOT tell you that the casefile is in AP unless you ask directly:

    1. is my casefile in administrative processing?

    2. is my casefile in administrative review ?

    3. is my casefile in additional processing?

DoS Hotline knows all status about your casefile, except for the Consular Officer's Notes in the casefile...

It's a telephone # in the USA. The Dodi Post contains most of the info you need. Did you find it yesterday? My apologies for not posting the link, I've been suffering from pain from a knee injury from tuesday night and have just returned from the hospital.

    Dodi - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

Read the first post, and then find MY post there, read all of that.

    Good Luck !

Hello there! oh is the injury serious? I hope u will feel better soon! Ah u know chinese people say abt the pork rib soup thing right? Try it n it may help to recover.

My fiance did get through the call with DOS. he was told that our case is still in Administrative Processing. is there any difference between this and the other two u mentioned above?

I found out the post yesterday but kinda lost in what they were talking abt,ok i will read again now and your post。 Thanks so much, you are of a great help! have a good rest.:))

  7. Well at the interview they gave him a white sheet called 221g. He needed to bring in proof I was living in the U.S. Even though they had copies of my voter registration card and tax returns. The officer requested proof that my parents own their home (I live with my parents). We mailed it to the embassy and we then received a letter in the mail that they have received that document and to just wait until they contact us. I called the DOS and they said our case is under AP. So I do not know what they are doing now. USCIS initially received our very first paperwork back in Oct 2010 (The 1st step to this long tedious process). It was approved in Apr 2011 and sent to U.S. Embassy. Interview was Jan 2012. I can't take it anymore.

Oh that's an insanely lone time. I totally understand what u are going through now. Hopefully this long waiting end soon and best luck! Just try to relax and take this thing off your mind once in a while. be happy!:))

  8. you have some address in the ds-230 ? where was that address ? beiJing? GuangZhou ? somewhere else? the letter goes to that address.

    DoS Hotline know's all status.

oh the address on that DS-230 is here in QD. the thing is i have quit the job and abt to leave QD for BJ. The QD address is my previous company's, so that should be ok if they mail there and i will let my co-workers pick for me.or do u think it will work if i email them to tell the address changes?

Yeah for sure we will call DOS. Thanks so much for telling. or we feel like we are so ill-informed.

  9. have the uscitizen petitioner call the DoS Hotline (click the girls under my name, study left panel) and inquire for casefile status.

In the end, when GUZ IV is done with their review, you will receive a 'call in letter' via postal mail, with more instructions on what to do with your passport.

oh we didn't even know we could call, but he will make a call tmr and inqure. so u said they wil send me a postal ltr instaead of email to notify me right? oh that's crazy, i am leave the city pretty soon n will go to BJ to stay with my family there. This means i need to inform them of my address changes?

  10. Dear all,

So my visa is currently under AP after the interview on March 20th. The visa officer told me it gennerall takes abt 3 to 4 weeks. bur right now it's been 35 days after the interview. i have not heard anyth at all. I am now wondering maybe at that time he was just saying. I don't hold any position for the party at all and never. really think it shouldn't be that long for them to process.

I went for the interview in GZ on March 20th. The visa was not approved immediately on the day of the interview due to my communist party membership. well, this is sth i have expected that could happen. The visa officer who interviewed me told me clearly that i passed the interview and there is nothing wrong with the interview. but he said they need additional processing and gave me a slip which states the reason for AP oh and also returned my passport. He said he did this per immigration law and will notify me to send them my passport when the processing is done.

Has anybody had similar expeience? Could you please share? btw, i saw the instruction on embassy wesite that i can only inquire the visa status two months after the interview. so really can't do anything but wait i guess.

    Thanks!

  11. Thanks for this valuable information. And congrats on the approval of your visa! I feel so happy for you guys. The long struggling process time was finally over.

Think now i have a better idea abt the interview and what i need to prepare for that.

I wish i can hear more stories abt interview at GZ.

Thanks again for your help! Take care:D

  12. Thank you friend!

There is a sentence on GN1-2 form that really freaks me out. It's said " EXCEPT AS OTHER WISE PROVIDED BY LAW. ALIENS OF THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE INELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A VISA." I was just thinking that I was doomed if i put a "yes" under this item. But yeah I agree with you, i will get the statement and my resume ready before the interview. Do my best and let hem decide.

Thanks again for your help. VJ is a really a great place. So many warm-hearted people"))

  13. Thank you guys!

oh and I have another question regarding GN1-2 FORM, Under item 17, Part C, it indicates as" Aliens who are or at anytimes have been anarchist, or members of or affiliated with any totalian party......1)Opposition to organized government. 2)the overthrow of government by force and violence. 3) the assaulting or killing of government officials. 4) the unlawful of destruction of property. 5)establishment of a totalitarian dictatorship in the united states........DO ANY OF THESE CLASSES APPLY TO YOU? YES_____ No_____

I don't know what i should put in this blank. i checked with US embassy here in China, they said they consider Communist party as a totalitarian party, but i am just a standard member and have never conducted the listed behaviors. what should I choose for this item ? yes or no? can i leave this item blank? any suggestions?

    so much appreciate your help!
