  1. I'm a Dec 2014 filer and haven't received approval yet. I did get a RFE which I responded to and haven't heard back since.

I'm getting worried as my extension letter expires in Dec 2015 and my work are really on my case about needing proof I can still work. I have no idea what I can provide them with though, I already gave them the extension letter but understandably they are saying that only covers me until Dec.

There was no mention of security checks though, so you're not the only Dec filer having an issue

  2. What document they ask you specifically?

They just gave us the default list of what they accept but we submitted every single item on that list that we could. The only thing we did not submit was children information as we have none and will/trust information as we don't have one (but we did submit life insurance documents which is similar)

The only thing we could possibly submit additonal to this would be affidavits, this years tax return (which didn't exist at initial application) and more bank statements between the application and today.

It's kind of funny because my email to them probably prompted them into this. I emailed them early September. I got an email response on the 14th saying they sent an RFE on Sept 14th but the RFE we received is dated Sept 16th (I only discovered this after calling them it was in my junk email). So they told me they sent me an RFE 2 days before they actually did it. I'd speculate that they got my email, realized they didn't have my documents so responded and then processed the RFE later.

  3. Called them up today as I still hadn't heard anything back and the online status checker says the same as always. Apparently they sent an RFE 7 days ago but it hasn't arrived yet.

Anyone have any idea of what they might be requesting? We sent them absolutely everything we had (joint bank accounts, joint tax returns, joint utility bills, all our joint leases,etc.). I have no idea what they could possibly be asking for

  4. Will back that up. I've had to travel to Canada multiple times due to work and there has never been an issue. Same when I went back to the UK.

I was actually amazed by how little they seem to care about it. They just scanned the card, looked at the letter and sent me on my way without any questions at all (4 times off the top of my head)

  5. I was wondering if anyone could do me a favor and verify something for me. Your receipt should be in the following format EAC-000-XXX-YYYYY. Can a December filed verify just what their digits are where it is XXX please and the date they filed?

    Long winded explanation below.

I was having trouble getting it to accept my receipt number so I did some digging. Basically your receipt number is broken up into the following

Three letters (EAC / WAC/ SRC / etc)

Three numbers (This is the year so 015 is 2015)

Three numbers (This is the day number starting from Oct 1st. So Oct 1st is 001)

Five numbers (This is your case number)

So you end up with something like

    EAC-015-XXX-YYYYY

So the reason I ask is because my XXX is 063 but I think it is supposed to be 045. 063 is my acceptance date including weekends, 045 would be excluding weekends. I am pretty sure it is supposed to omit weekends. If someone else who filed in Dec confirms their number, this would verify or disprove my hunch that they messed up my receipt number.

(I'm pretty sure I'm right because if I change it the 063 to 045 then it shows someone who filed for A CRI-89 removal of conditions with a filing date of Dec 4th. And after manually sifting through 500 files with the 063 figure and never coming across a single other CRI-89, it would be a pretty large coincidence. Would be nice to receive back-up verification though.)

  6. Kind of relieved but saddened to see that everyone in Vermont is in the same situation as me. Sent it off in November, they say they received Dec 2nd. Had my biometrics first week of January and not heard anything back since so was feeling pretty concerned.

Is it normal for you to not be able to track the receipt number? Whenever I've put it in it just says the below.

    Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
    • My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.
  7. Hi,

We've had a request for evidence and we're both currently in the UK. The mail will go to the US address though. We rang up the USCIS on 18003755283 and were told they could not tell us over the phone what they requested and that it wouldn't be in the database?

Is there any way around this or did we just speak to the wrong person or something? I'm sure people have said they rang up before to find out and were told what they needed.

Really don't want to have to wait until my wife flies home to be able to find out and get things progressing again :(

Any help would eb greatly appreciated.

  8. Had an August 12th filing date and got a Request For Evidence last night which is hugely disappointing as we sent everything in that the lists told us to.

No idea what they want though as we're both in the UK at the minute and the mail will go to the US address. Will have to call them and find out, are they open weekends?

How long does it usually take once your send in your RFE? You don't get bumped back in the queue do you?
