  1. So we just had our interview on 02/10/12, and the lady told us our packet was "perfect"

    except....

Anzac Medical in Brisbane DIDN'T FILL IN THE IMMUNIZATION BOXES! :( :( :(

They are even highlighted on the form. The doctor simply didn't fill them out. So we got a "refusal worksheet" and they contacted the doctor for the results.

Incredible that they could overlook something so important, seeing as though THAT'S ALL THEY DO at that medical office.

We called the doctor and had them fax over the records, but who knows how long that has delayed the process.

It has now been a week since the interview and we still don't have the visa in hand.

And there was no way we could have known about the error ahead of time because we're not allowed to open the sealed medical report!

    Grrr....

I experienced something similar at anzac medical, but luckily was picked up before they handed me my sealed envelope. I got a call back for 'an immunization you're missing'. I got there and the doctor apologized as he'd forgotten to write down the Varicella vaccine he'd given me the week before.

I'm sorry this happened to you :(

  2. You have to pick it up. Anzac centre doesn't like sending out the results as the xrays are quite large and they don't want them damaged. I believe they give refunds or discounts if you use the hotel parking but I trained it in for my medical as the place is literally inside the same building as the train station.

  3. Hey,

The reason the doctor needs the case number is they (again, I'm speaking from Brisbane) do not hand you the results. They send directly through to the Consulate and need this case number to marry it up to your case - if there are any more reasons I'm sure someone can clarify further. I know that a couple of people in Melbourne are able to have their medical exams done without a case number and are then handed the results directly to take to the consulate themselves in Sydney.

I thought to get a headstart and talk to my GP about my immunisation records to provide to the medical clearance. I'm not sure wether this will be helpful but I figured a couple less needles to have stuck into me is a bonus! (Although from my research on here, it's not a requirement to have your immunisation up to date before leaving the country. This can be finalised over in the states.)

I have included the below link for your perusal. Might be able to clarify some things further for you.

    Cheers!

Actually the Brisbane medical does physically hand you the results to mail to the consulate yourself with packet 3. I prepared by getting serology results of my previous vaccinations and Dr Yates was happy to receive them, which he slipped into the medical file. One thing my doctors hadn't given me was the second varicella vaccine which was given to me during the medical.

You are correct in saying you need the case number for Brisbane because they will not book you in for the medical without it, even if you manage to they won't hand it over without the case number on the sealed documents.

  4. Today started out one of the worst I've had in a whlie. I spent from 10am-2pm at the emergency room with a bladder infection that I didn't know I had till the pain knocked me out when I got up this morning. I came home all drugged up and just crashed. Woke up around 6pm and thought "hmm I didn't check USCIS today".....OMG WE GOT NOA2!!! Alan and I had a little freak out giddy moment then ran to tell our families. Now I can take my pain meds and crash to have happy dreams   (oww, ok no dancing right now)

I'm so happy for you! Finally!!

I hope the rest of the journey is a speedy one and no hiccups with your court situation.

  5. Glad to see everyone is getting interview dates and even US flight dates!

I just had a call back from the medical saying I need to come in again next week... I hope it's nothing bad. They mentioned something about my immunizations over the phone, which is strange considering I provided all my serology results and the doctor seemed okay with it.

I will be so glad when all of this red tape is over...

  6. VJers,

The NVC informed me that they sent the approved package to the embassy in Bogota on September 12, but my fiance and I haven't received anything yet and it's been over a week. What should I do? Start bugging someone at the embassy (who, how) or what?

Please advise, I need my fiancee here! :crying::) I want my interview already!!

You should check your country specific forum for information about what happens during the embassy stage.

    This should help you: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

  7. Someone said on Friday that they had been checking the numbers and quite a few on the 27 Feb got approvals or RFE's I checked Igor's list and only one approval and it was not for 27 Feb, does anyone think there will be a lot of approvals tonight like it was a couple of weeks ago? I am so tired of waiting as I am sure all the rest of you are(( Good luck to us all. Ron

The three of us who were checking numbers every day have all had petitions approved so won't be updating it regularly. You may want to contact Joy if you want to continue to check them yourself!
