  1. A couple of weeks after the US embassy in Armenia received my papers, I sent them an email about scheduling an interview. This is what I got as a result.

    Dear inquirer,

Please be advised that last week you were contacted and asked for coming to the embassy for receiving your invitation. You answered that you are unable to come so we scheduled you on Friday, you didn’t show up. You can come to the embassy on 17.Aug.2012 in order to receive your invitation for your interview on 23-AUG-2012.

I had not received a single call from them, so apparently there had been a misunderstanding of some sort. This case is way different than yours, I am just telling this so that you know mistakes happen.

  2. Whoow Greg n Veronica. I would kindly inform you that this is a forum, not a love chat. If you feel I am not supportive enough, overlook my comment. I did get that a simple email is all he has now, my comprehensive abilities should be none of your concern. People need to disclose their circumstances in order not to confuse others.

As to fsuinla, your timeline tells me that your consulate is Armenia, whereas you mention Thailand. I had a few problems throughout my journey too(at an interview stage). Maybe they sent you an RFE that got lost in the mail, or it may be a dozen of other things.

  3. Seriously? I apologize i advance for sounding harsh, but the way you posted is very selfish. You NEED TO provide sufficient information in order for us to give you advice. What you just did is you freaked out a whole bunch of people who are waiting for their i-129 NOA2. This is a long process and stressful enough. Posts like this scare people and they think USCIS is something horrible.

Dear i-129f applicants, please don't stress out. USCIS NEVER denies for no reason. This person either has something wrong with his case (there may be millions of things), or this is a USCIS mistake. Either way, I am not going to give advice to a question formed in such a way.

  4. Hello all! I was wondering if anyone here can tell me anything and everything they know about the CR-1 Visa, such as what are all the required forms, what is an estimate of waiting, an estimate of prices, etc. I am 17 and not married but, it would help if I were told the information AS IF I were 17 and married because that may soon be the case and it would just help me out a lot. This may be a broad thing to discuss.. but please tell me anything you can! And FYI I know about the K-1 Visa and that is not a route we are willing to take at the moment.

1.The people who are advising you to do research are not doing so because they have went down the hard path and wanna make sure you do the same, they are just trying to make you realize the way this process goes. I read your complaint about USCIS not giving you relevant info, but (fortunately or unfortunately) this is how it goes. In order to be able to start the application process, you need to read the USCIS website, your local embassy and government info about this, research visajourney, ask friends who have been through this, make calls... even if you hire a lawyer, you will still need to know a lot in order not to get dragged around by people who want to make money off of you. Especially in your case.

    2. even though I agree that it is nobody's business as to whether you will go to school or marry, you need to realize that when you make the decision of exposing your case to a forum like this, there's always a possibility that you are going to be judged. So filter out from the replies what is useful for you and ignore the rest of the comments.

    3. When you are asking a question, please provide more information. It would be easier to help you if you provide you full circumstances. And don't get mad that people are not willing to just spread out everything they know in front of you. In a manner, it's like school; people here are wiling to help you with homework, but they won't let you copy theirs :D

    Good luck.

  5. Hi,

I need to clarify whether the intending immigrant is required to present his/her chest x-rays from the medical examination completed for the immigrant visa to border patrol at a point of entry to the US.

Or he/she only presents the the thick envelope given to him/her at the US consulate.

    Thank you

Just the thick envelope. I just came to the States on K1 in September 2012. The X-ray is still sitting in my desk. This X-ray copy is entirely for your own records, and in case you need another medical done. I had it in my carry-on the entire time. Hope this helps.

  6. Hi all,

I am waiting for my NOA2 for K1 visa and I want to change my job. Does anyone know if this will effect the K1 processing? Do I have to tell them that I changed my job just like I would have to tell them if I changed my address?

Hi, I am Zara. And no, you don't need to. My husband (fiance at the time) changed jobs while we were applying.Just make sure to hold on to the pay stubs, you will need them later in the process.

  7. Speaking of jobs, what are you guys doing about work? Rob has a few leads from friends who want to put him in contact with their employers, but he hasn't applied anywhere. When can a person apply? After getting the SSN? After the employment authorization goes through?

Hello. Haven't been in this forum for quite a while. I will be receiving my EAD today /it's in the mail/ and have a job lined up.

My own research showed that we are not allowed to even have an internship while waiting for EAD, if the internship "would normally be paid

or is going to turn into a job". Be sure to do your own research, but I am sure you are going to come to the same conclusion.

This is somewhat regarded as "taking a job from from an American" if you do for free what he/she would normally be paid for.

I guess no one can really tell you "do not apply for jobs" granted that some jobs take forever to get back to you. Make your decisions and

make sure not to get in trouble.

  8. I have a question about the W2's and 1040's. So we have decided we are not ordering his tax return from IRC, because he already has his 1040s and W2s. My question.

    1. will copies do? Or do I need to show the originals?

    2. is this all I need for his tax forms? is there anything we are leaving out?

We are also including recent paystubs and a letter from employer. Will this be enough?

P.S. I am sorry if my questions sound naive, I am just really concerned about these tax forms :)))

    Thank you everyone :)

  9. Dear February filers.

If you are on this page, then you probably got your NOA2

If you did, you probably have many questions.

Here are the questions that Aaron(my beloved :) and I have.

    1. This is what my embassy requirement is about tax forms

"Petitioner’s prior year 1040 tax form and W2s: If tax returns are not available,

provide transcripts from the IRS." I want to make sure I understand this right.

So Aaron can just call the IRS, request his tax transcripts, they arrive and we're good?

Do we need to also get them notarized?

    2. Do his paystubs need to be signed by his boss?

Please help me with this, and let's start discussing whatever questions we have about our upcoming

interviews. I bet most of us have the same questions! Good luck and thanks ahead for the help.

  10. Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing fine and not too worn out of waiting :)

I was wondering about the processing times once the NOA2 has been received. Approximately how long does it

take them to sent the papers to NVC? How long does ittake for the NVC to fwd it to the US embassy in my counrty?

And how long till my embassy contacts me?

I know nobody knows these time perioda for sure, but at least approximately. Thank you very much ahead.

  11. Hello Dear everyone.

Haven't been here for a long time :)Hope everyone is doing fine.

I believe it is time to organize what we are going to have to do once we receive the NOA2.

I think it will be useful to start planning so that the paperwork doesn't pile up.

So, as far as I understand, these are all the documents we are going to take to the embassy

    BEFORE the interview;

    1. Form DS-230

    2. Form DS-156

    3. Form DS-156K

Passport's biographical page for each applicant

Please correct me if your research differs from mine. Does this differ depending on the embassy?

Good luck to everyone, looking forward to your replies.
