We filed in October, had biometric in November ... nothing heard from them yet!!!
-
It shouldn't take that long but I wouldn't worry since every time their schedule is different. Just keep calling them every single day!
-
So I got my green card in the mail. Do I need to change the SSN that I got right after we got married ( we were k-1 ) ?
CONGRATS!!! Would you please provide me with your timeline and how long did it take for you to get your green card? Marriage or Fiance visa?
Thanks & Good luck

Biometric done on Nov. 16th, nothing have heard since then!!! Any idea?? We filed on October 10th!
-
Oh, thanks! Hope we all hear from them very very SOON!
-
We are October filer too! Hope to hear from them very soon. Any idea about the time frame?
-
As dido said. This should take you to the page: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=members scroll down to where it says "Immigration Status", below it is "Placed benefits filed at". It's near the bottom.
Hope that helps!
Helped a lot! Thank you so much!

I have a FUNNY question for you .... How can I change my "Filed for" from K1 to AOS?
-
I think and believe K1 is much more easier and faster! You should have good documents though!
-
We got ours on Saturday too!
-
your Green Card. or at least your EAD
Thank you for your reply. So, it means that people on K1 visa can drive only for 3 months? That doesn't make sense.

Hi VJers,
So, I got my driving license before getting married in US, they issued the license as valid as my I-94. And now we are married, applied for AOS , they just sent us an appointment letter. NOW the question is, is there any way I can extend my driving license, cause when we went to MVA they said my case is not updated yet, and I have to wait.
Any idea what do they wait for and what do they want to receive as a proof of residence? I have a situation that should drive by myself.

We got our approval (NOA2) on Saturday midnight! So, expect it at any time. Hope you get it very soon!

My interview was last Monday, and my visa is ready today. Since they keep the passport, so you can not leave UAE. Most of the time takes 1 week, unless you are so lucky and the embassy is not crowded they'll issue in 2-3 days. I hope your flight is not a charter one, so you can change the date. I've been here for 10 days, 3 before the interview date for Medical ... Horrible!
By the way they'll put the visa in the passport, it's not a separate sheet!
Good Luck
-
Don't worry about the date! You don't even need to call them, this happens occasionally specially with Ankara Embassy!
Good Luck
-
Hopefully I'll have mine by the next week! Please wish me luck all my November Filers Friends!
Good luck to you All!

I will be attending the interview and bringing all the documents with me. We will take the extension as well as w-2's, also he has quite a bit of assets as well that we are disclosing. So you think we will be ok?
I'm sure you'll be ok! Do you have your uncle's salary statement or letter of employment? And if he is self employed, his bank statement?
-
Sean, you just have to mail the supporting documents (of your uncle) to the embassy! And your fiancee will tell them you have mailed them, so they'll let her in. 2011 extension is exactly what we did as well, don't worry!
-
I gave him the I-134, so thats the only one right?
Yes, that's the only one. You can download it from your Packet 3 (appointment letter), just to make sure!
Good Luck!
-
Well, everything sounds perfect! But what makes me interested to your post, is your date of interview which is the same date as mine! Hope we both going to have a great day on 25th!
Good Luck & wish me luck!

Thank you. I'm sure we can get a visa once we have an appointment letter. Do you know how I can do that? I think it's not at the NVC stage yet, it should be very easy to change with not much effect, but I'm just guessing.
I'm sure you'll get your NOA2 very soon, since your NOA1 was in January. So, just wait till the NVC receive your case (you should keep calling them when you get your NOA2), send them an email or a letter and ask them to change your embassy. I agree they will issue the Schengen Visa, but make sure to make an appointment in Italy embassy as well. It's summer time and embassies are so BUSY!

As there is no US embassy in Iran, we have choices between, UAE, Italy and I think Austria. My file, according to the officer I called, is going to be reviewed next week. I have chosen UAE on the I129F form. Now I'm thinking about changing to Naples, Italy, because it seems to interview much faster than UAE. My question is what is the best way to do that, and whether it would delay my case.
Thank you.
Hi,
Yes, it'll delay your case, but few weeks only. For sure Italy is a good option if your fiance have a Schengen Visa!
Good Luck

You don't have an option! For K1 you can apply only at Abu Dhabi Consulate!

Hi VJ friends,
I have 2 e-mail accounts----one that I use for school and important stuff, and the other that I have have used for the past 7 years to communicate with my husband.
The e-mail that I have used to communicate with my husband has my nickname in it. The other e-mail that I have provided to the NVC, has my name in it.
The question is------when i print out ALL of the e-mails to bring to the embassy, will they be suspicious and think that the e-mail with my nickname in it is not me?
Sorry if I am confusing--- message me if you have any questions!
Thanks in advance for your help!
BIG NO! Why would they be suspicious? I don't think so? What is important, is the email content not the nick name! That's the way I think!
Good Luck

Hi VJers,
I really want to hear something from you guys. As my timeline shows, we sent AOS package in early October, had a biometric in Mid November & before the biometric they asked for more financial document which we sent. And we never heard from them again, USCIS shows the "request for evidence response review". So, is this normal or should we contact them? As far as I know it shouldn't take this long, am I right?
Looking forward to hear from you!
