  1. I have been reading that people have filed in March 2016 and are now citizens. Imagine my frustration and fear since my husband filed in October of last year and still no interview notice. He had his biometrics done at the local field office in Nov. but after that we heard nothing. We moved to a different state than moved back (Jan to June 2016), maybe that did something? However according to them our application was never sent to a field office due to Administrative Issues and that our file is in Lee's Summit, MO.

We could not send a service request until our processing time had come and gone and now that we did it can take 30 days for a response? His fiance visa and everything up until his N-400 always went smooth and fast. Not sure why this is happening.

My question is, if anyone else had experienced this please tell me how it ended or/and why this is how it was. Much appreciated.

Other theories and suggestions welcome. Is it time to lawyer up? Tired of calling and getting the same weird answer.

Its been 9 months since we filed and we feel like our life is on hold. Been trying to visit his mother and brother out of the country and meet our new niece.

  2. Hello,

My husband came on k-1 Fiance Visa (we just got married last week). And I am a student, no job or assets what so ever. I was planning on my mom to be the sponsor who easily meet the financial requirements. We all live in the same house till I graduate, my husband gets a job and we move out.

    My questions are

    1) For part 1, Basis for filing Affidavit of Support, I do not qualify for any of the boxes a - f. In the instructions it was very specific, no option for people who filed a I-129F petition. Or am i supposed to check box a?

    2) Am I supposed to fill out the initial I-864 form even though I have no income? And my mom fills out form I-864 A? Or do my mom and I both fill out form I-864?

  3. My Fiance has gotten his VISA approved so now I am getting ready for his arrival and adjustment. We'll be in California. He does not have a license from his home country. To apply for his California license he needs to have a social security number. When will he be issued one? At the airport when he arrives? or not till we get married and apply for permanent residence (wedding is 2 months later, then i expect it will take 3 months after that to get a green card) ?

If we have to wait for the wedding or to apply for permanent residence to get a social security number that is way to long for him to not have a license. Is it possible to go to the social security number and ask for a temporary one?

  4. I filed an 129F petition to bring my fiance from Pakistan.

It was approved, it is currently being forwarded to NVC.

I am very confused on the 134 form. Is it required for everyone filing for a K1 Visa?

When was it supposed to be filed?

Do I file it here and get it approved by the USCIS before I can give it to him to use during his interview?

Or do i just fill it out and give him the accompanying required evidence and the consulate approves of it at the interview?

Or does he fill it out when they tell him to and I have to quickly send in the required documents?
