  1. My wife was approved in less than two months as well. It all depends on whether or not you can efficiently establish a bona-fide relationship. The only interview my wife had was at the embassy over two years ago. No interview for AOS and no interview for the ROC.

The key is to send the right docs and the right amount of docs. The sample forms and letters on the website are very helpful in guiding you step-by-step along your journey. You can pick and choose from those samples and send in what evidence best suits your particular situation.

    Two things:

Cover letters are a must. Help the officer making his/her decision to make it more quickly and favorably. Sending a cover letter with your package contents listed makes their lives and decision making process that much smoother.

Secondly, and this should go without saying over and over...please fill out your forms correctly. Do not give the officer ANY excuse to send your packet back. It not only wastes money, but a tremendous amount of time in the process.

I guess one more thing...no need to overburden the officer with docs. Just because you send in a mountain of paperwork and garbage, does not mean that you will get a quick approval. It takes time to look through all the stuff you send in regardless.

With that said, this is what we sent in for the ROC:

    1. Payment in the amount of $545 (application and biometrics fee)

    2. Original I-751

    3. Copy of Permanent Resident Card (front and back)

    4. Copy of our daughter's birth certificate

    5. Copies of 2007 and 2008 Federal form 1040 (first two pages)

    6. Copies of three separate utility bills

    7. Copy of joint checking account statement

    8. Three pictures

    9. Two original sworn affidavits of relationship

    Best of luck!!

  2. I'm starting to wish I'd got my I-751 app' prepared and sent off sooner. My I-751 was delivered to the Vermont center April 24th, but the check still hasn't been cashed and I haven't received the first NOA yet. My GC expires a week on Friday, so I'm hoping I don't have to make an emergency appointment at the local service center to get an extention.

All you guys just need to take a deep breath and exhale.....now, doesn't that feel better???

Your NOAs will arrive soon enough.

  3. We filed with the 693 suppliment and the CS noted pregnancy and vaccines were not appropriate.

My wife has....the TD vacc is safe. You can get titers for the rest.

The CDC recommends waiting until the 2nd or 3rd trimester to give the Td vaccine.

    http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/preg-guide.htm

"Although no evidence exists that tetanus and diphtheria toxoids are teratogenic, waiting until the second trimester of pregnancy to administer Td is a reasonable precaution for minimizing any concern about the theoretical possibility of such reactions."

My doctor and the civil surgeon said the TD vacc was just fine, even during the 1st trimester.

  4. I've read about different interviews and most appear to be moderate and not a big deal. Knowing my luck, I'm going to have the interview from hell. Can people who had the worst interview possible tell about their experiences. Does anyone know of anyone who got denied? If there is a thread with such experiences, can someone direct me to it. Thanks.
my fiance got denied in manila. not hard to understand either. from day 1 she told me she was single with no kids. she left k-1 info blank. she was so affraid i was going to dump her for having kids she locked secret away till interview. then at very last step interviewer said who's this guy ? and she said my ex husband.

she has annulment with no custody of kids but YOU cant lie to US GOV. bottom line. k-1 shot to hell and all the waiting. now i have to go back 2 more times to get married and start all over with a k-3. so if your going to leave anything out on your PAPERWORK make sure u write it all down. or else get denied like she did. her im so sorry now does fall a little short but shes the woman i want so im going back in nov to get marriage license.

either im awful understanding or im an idiot. ????? Tim.......... denial date july 9th 2007 manila

You may be screwed. Befoe getting married, I would check with an attorney.

Plus, why be with a woman who lied to you???

  5. Ok...weird question.

I received my Green Card last month, and I know that the EAD is now moot.

I have seen people receive their EAD after they have the Greencard, because they don't realize that they have it.

I am just wondering, because my EAD hasn't been touched since 06/24 and it is waaaaaaay past the 90 days.

I don't know, I'm just curious...I mean, we did pay $180 for it :P:rolleyes: I'd just hate to see that they stopped processing altogether...if that's the case, they should refund!

They should, but they they won't.

  6. I think it is not impossible to marry after the 90 days, but I am always amazed when this question comes up. Why are so many people have trouble to stay within the 90 days? I mean...90 days, 3 months..isn't that time enough to find a day to get married, and even it's just signing the papers at the JOP or so?

I am aware there are many good reasons why people wait or have to wait or whatever, but still..you agreed to get married within the 90 days upon arrival, it's not like they are only giving you a week to get married, then I would understand that people are not able to make it in that time, but 90 days??

I don't know, it just makes me a little uncomfortable when so many people are trying to get excemptions made to their cases but then are surprised and angry when USCIS is not processing cases within a certain time either. (Not that they are always processing cases in a timely fashion even IF you marry within the 90 days, but you get my drift?)

I think I will get some beating for this...

I agree 100%. What is the problem anyway? If you are having second thoughts, send her back to the Kremlin. If you two were actually planning on being together, then I can see no reason why people cannot comply with the law.

  7. my doc gave it to us sealed + an addtl copy not sealed to keep for our records.

So did mine... but then, I think it was the same one you used! (Sadly, not the same price, though... I think they just went for the 'think of a number' technique when deciding how much to charge me...) ;)

I fought hard to get that fee, as when I called it was what they said. When I showed up he tried saying $40. What did you pay?

$40... couldn't be bothered arguing it, as I had what I needed and know from reading posts on here that others have had to pay much more!

I had mine today and paid $50. Maybe because we had to sit and wait for it as they work on it (talking about the pressure we gave them, ha). They insisted that I do all the entire medical all over again but I showed them the instruction from the GUIDES. They asked me where in the world I got that instruction and so I told them. They checked it themselves and finally, worked on my I-693A. Ha!

We paid $25 for the I-693A. In our case, the civil surgeon also insisted that we get another medical....yeah right. Finally, she was like "whateva" and filled out the supplement. The bottom line is that you have to TELL them what YOU want.

  8. Question on the above mentioned Topic:

I am 10 weeks pregnant. Do I need to complete this vaccination?

    Information or advise please.

    Thank You.

    Lily

The civil surgeon and our doctor told us TD is safe during any stage of pregnancy. Varicella and MMR are not. Hence, my wife got the TD and had titers run for the rest.

  10. Me too. Now I feel worst because My wife is traveling to India! and will return in 20 days. I want to re-send everything right now but I don't know anything about US Taxes forms.

This is what we sent and this is what I have to send with the RFE, please any recommendation will be nice:

Form 1040 2006 (U.S. Individual Income Tax Return)

    Form 8863 2006 (Education Credits)

    Form 3903 2006 (Moving Expenses)

But I don't have any "big or large" W2's of my wife, just smalls pieces of paper that say W2 (Wage and Tax Statement) but are very simple (is that?).

PLEASE HELP! I'm alone with no communication with my wife!

    From the I864 form , page11:

    "Checklist"

For ALL sponsors:A copy of your individual Federal income tax return, including W-2s for the most recent tax year, or a statementand/or evidence describing why you were not required to file. Also include a copy of each and every Form 1099,Schedule, and any other evidence of reported income. You may submit this information for the most recent three taxyears , pay stub(s) from the most recent six months, and/or a letter from your employer if you believe any of theseitems will help you qualify.

For SOME sponsors:If you are currently self-employed, a copy of your Schedule C, D, E or F from your most recent Federal Tax Returnwhich establishes your income from your business.

I did not submit each and every 1099, nor did I submit any paystubs.

What I did submit was a copy of my 06 return with a summary of 1099 income I use as a schedule A. Let's see what happens....

  11. FYI....i got a call today from my senator's office....the girl had put in a request from them asking a update on my husbands case...they e-mailed her back and asked her not to inquire for another 180 days because they have been slamed with thousands of petitions....she said normaly they ask for 60 days...but they are really back logged....she then said she thinks they asked for that long just to be on the safe side...

so i hope that info helps everyone wondering about their case and when it will be aproved or touched

Why are you contacting your senator's office? You applied for AOS like 2 minutes ago. Am I missing something?

  12. Just a thought, but of you that have been sent to CSC, did you also have an EAD attached?

Personally, if I was setting policy, I would want to streamline K immigrants that were wanting to work before for those that were not going to work (immediately). Of course, thats too logical for our government.

I didn't apply for EAD with my AOS, but it wasn't because I didn't want to work!! I am dying to work, however I didn't feel comfortable shelling out the money for the EAD application when I could potentially get the Green Card before it was approved. Granted, I am taking a big chance, but the lack of an EAD application doesn't mean I don't want to work.

I don't think you can make a judgement call about someone's want/need to work purely based on whether they applied for EAD or not. Everyone has a different siutation.

I agree...the $180 for EAD is a potential waste. Many people are getting GCs in three months time. Why waste the $180?
