  2. Hi everyone,

It's time to apply for AOS for my wife, and I just realized that my wife's DS-3025 might be incomplete... She has all the required shots (including even the flu vaccine) but NONE of the boxes in the "Results" section is marked. In Moscow, when she got her medical, they didn't mark the "imcomplete ... with waiver..." box, as they said she doesn't need a waiver and all her vaccines are complete for her age. But they didn't mark the "Vaccine history complete for each vaccine" box either as they said that nobody has the "complete" history unless you're old, as most vaccines require re-vaccination every so often until the certain age...

So - do we need to go to CS and get the vaccination records transcribed, or can we just submit the copy of this DS-3025? Is there anyone here who had the same issue with DS-3025 and still got the AOS approved without I-693?

  3. Yes, there were some changes... Previously getting all vaccinations completed before the interview was mandatory for all immigrant visas (like spouse visas), but for fiance(e) visas it was optional. Now they "strongly recommend" to complete vaccinations for K1's as well: "we (the Department of State) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have agreed that medical exams for fiancé(e) visa applicants should include the vaccination assessment as a matter of expediency. Therefore, you should make every effort to encourage fiancé(e) visa applicants to meet the vaccination requirements before admission to the United States. Nevertheless, you may not refuse K-visa applicants for refusing to meet the vaccination requirements".

See the complete letter the medical center (MOM) received from Moscow Embassy in September.

So you still should be able to refuse vaccination, and get medical completed with some or all vaccinations missing... But they probably will - as quoted above - "make every effort" so you meet the requirements - i.e. they may not tell you about the option to refuse :).

But in any case it's better - and a lot cheaper - to get it done in Moscow than later here when you need to file for AOS.

  4. I agree with SMR - it's a big unknown. Depends on the security level of the city, the occupation of her parents, and possibly the mood of the officer processing the application for a pass...

I have a friend who is from one of such cities (Sarov). He lives in the US for a long time and is a US citizen now, but he retained his Russian citizenship as well. His parents are both retired and still live in Sarov. While he had a Green Card, he was granted a pass to visit his parents several times with no issues. But after becoming a US citizen he was refused a pass for 2 years in a row with no explanation given. Yet he kept applying, and they granted him a pass again on the 3rd year. Try to make a sense out of it...

So selling the apartment and getting another one in a "regular" city close by might be a good idea after all.

  5. The US government just forgot to renew their domain registration for ustraveldocs.com :bonk: !

So, until they renew it, the link won't work (unless it's cached by some internet providers)...

In the meantime, you can still access the site by using the direct IP address. Just go to http://46.137.253.160/ and then choose your country :).

  6. In my opinion nothing beats PickupFlowers store. They have by far the best prices compare to any other international delivery florists, and you can use the never expiring coupon code "MYCOUPONS" :) to get an extra 15% off almost everything (except sale items). When placing an order, you can make any additional requests in "Special Instructions" field - I use it to request an odd number of flowers in an arrangement, or to ask for a flowers color they don't have in the catalog, or - when they add a free bottle of wine with purchase - to specify what kind of wine to include (i.e. "dry red", or "dessert white" etc). So far they always did what I asked for...

In the past I used several different sites: russianflora.com, flamingo.ru, florist.ru, edelweiss-service.ru, etc - all were more expensive. I'm not sure about Moscow, but in Irkutsk (for those who doesn't know - it's a city in Siberia) all these online stores - including PickupFlowers.com - work with the same local florist, so there's no difference in the freshness and quality of flowers they deliver.

  7. Problem is I realized the scan was on my Nigerian passport and not the US one and the RFE requested specifically a stamp on my US passport. :(

Should not be a problem by itself - just send a letter (a few lines) to explain this.

Include other proofs that you didn't include with your original submission, if there are any. For example, have you used your credit card while in Nigeria? If so, send the CC statement showing transactions there.

  8. Yes, we know people use their home passport to enter their home country, but once you are a USC you should only be using your USC passport. I didn't write these rules so I am not debating them.

There are no such rules. Can you refer to any government issued document which says this?

But of course, it doesn't help OP in his case since his Nigerian passport happened to be an electronic...

  9. Hmm... Apparently, there are 2 web sites and 2 companies, both are based in Chicago:

The first one (.com) allegedly charges $145, while the other one (.org) - $525 (claiming it to be "all inclusive" price). Not sure what's included and what's not in the $145 price charged by ISCtravel. Otherwise both web sites are 99% identical (same pages, same wording, same almost everything). Kind of suspicious  ...

If you use their services, please report your results here.

  10. Congrats with your approval (even if it's conditional)!!!

Regular (1st class USPS) mail to Russia may be not only slow but unreliable as well - especially if the destination is not Moscow. At the end, all USPS shipments (including Priority and Express) are handled by Russian Postal Service, and I would not trust it with important documents (that said, I sent multiple parcels to Russia via USPS Priority with no issues - it just took a lo-o-o-ng time)...

Getting another copy of affidavit and resending it via DHL (I think it's the least expensive out of all non-USPS express mail options, when mailing to Russia) or FedEx (more expensive, could be around $150 or so) might be faster than waiting for your previous shipment to arrive.

Also, thanks for posting this - I was going to just email my fiancee scans of all the required documents for the interview when the time comes. Knowing that Moscow requires originals will save us some time and hassle.

  11. for question 11 "Have you ever filed for this or any other alien fiance(e) or husband/wife before?" what should say here. Yes or No.

is this question regarding only i129f or previous H4 & i485 too?

My situation is exactly the same (the only difference is that I'm a widower, not a divorcee).

I answered "No" to question 11. It asks whether "you have ever filed for any alien husband/wife". You have not. After your employer's I-140 was approved, you applied for your AOS based on I-140 approval, and your wife filed for her AOS herself based on the fact that the employment-based visa category allows for derivative status for spouses/children. But it was her - not your - petition, you have not filed for her.

  12. What I find unusual about the online payment link is when you go there right at the top it states: "Any non immigrant visa applicant can pay their visa application fee by credit card..."

But then in the drop down for payment it lists the K-1 Visa. I am sure it would get routed correctly don't you?

Technically K-1 is a non-immigrant visa. And since this is the official visa information website of the U.S. Mission in Russia, I'd trust them to process everything correctly. Oh well, if they fool you, there's still an option to dispute a transaction with your bank :)...

  13. Well I when we find out I will sure let others know

Have you looked at the link I posted above (in post # 4)? This is exactly where you need to go to pay the visa fee and schedule interview online in Moscow. However, when you get to the CC payment page - it is only in Russian, so you may need your fiancee help reading what it says :).

Good luck with the interview  !
