  1. My SIL did have profiles and was considering a life here closer to her sister but gave it up after a few visits from a couple of syco American men

that acted like they were interested but was only on a sex visit .

You better believe I'm going to be on a "sex visit" after ponying up over $2,000 to go visit a woman, even for the first time. What I want to know is how it's a "sex visit" and not a "test driving the car before you buy it" visit?

Is she playing hard to get by making a dude wait for the goods after doling out over two grand? I think he's pretty much done his part with that type of commitment. What's she want, three dates? Come on!

    Where is the line drawn?

Not trying to take away from your SIL's experience, because, to each their own, but I would 100% be expecting a little "####### for tat" when flying over to meet a woman. Especially a married woman! People have their own experiences and expectations, and once again, I'm not judging, I'm just asking, how does a guy's visit go from "interested possible suitor" to "syco sex visitor?"

To each his own . syco and sex visit should be seperated . syco meaning syco . sex visit meaning meet the girl have sex and leave or have sex lead her on and then

never here from him again. Anyway I do not want the easy ones and would prefer the hard to get but this thread was not started for this discussion .

My days of chaseing women over the globe are over . My SIL was not married while having profiles and dating men . That is why I did not understand

this elena coming out with this a year later .

  2. I am investigating the FSU MOB industry. Admittedly, I’m sick of reviewing “smokin’hot goodwife” profiles and reading mushy-gushy letters back and forth between pro-daters and GCGs and their not-so-unwitting marks. If you have to ask “is she real?” or “am I being scammed?” the answer is no and yes. Everybody is out for something, whether a GC, $$, or just a thrill. Every side (whether he or she) is living vicariously through the other.

The hard facts uncover an ugly, complicated industry. I was venting when I made this post, and I went back a few hours later and tried to remove it because I realized I was being unfair and spiteful. The few forums I belong to “IRL” have edit functions – this particular one expired before I knew it.

For the record, your SIL’s profile stands out because it is so obviously GCG. She put it up less than a year and a half ago, and until a few months ago was still logging into her account. Also, a bit over a year ago there is evidence she was actively pursuing AM. Does her RH know about any of this? I doubt it, unless he’s in on a scam, too. Otherwise, I question how happy they could possibly be. Perhaps she should take all of her profiles down.

Either way, nothing that has happened is illegal, so I will back off and acknowledge that my posting here is unprofessional.

still can not see how you picked me and my family to spy on ? WHO ARE YOU ??? I smell a TROLL !!!

My sister in law is not a GCG !!! If my wife wanted to leave me then what business is it of yours ?

For your consideration my wife works and make enough money to care for her self in the USA and could divorce me any time she pleases to do so,

My American wife suddenly fell out of love with me after 10 years of marriage and children . Who knows what life can bring us ?

I consider my marriage a happy one and have not heard any different from my wife . So again what is your concern about my marriage ???

My SIL did have profiles and was considering a life here closer to her sister but gave it up after a few visits from a couple of syco American men

that acted like they were interested but was only on a sex visit .

I have been in this arena FSU MOB for over 6 yrs and traveled to Russia over 10 times , have spent many months of my life in Russia , and I have met

my share of GCG and my SIL is not one of them .

So I guess u are the GCG control agent ? so who do u work for ? the American man or the government ?

I hope u are not who i think u are ? If u are a translater and sharing your concerns about letters you have translated for my SIL then I will have to share

my concerns about who u are . I do not think it would be good for your future business for people to know you are sharing there letters with the

    world .

  3. So, RKINTN, has your GCG sister-in-law finally found someone to get her a visa, or has she just given up after a year of logging in to find "no expressions of interest have been sent to this lady"???

Given the investment you've made to try and help her find an American husband, doesn't this make you worry what will happen when your wife and daughter get their permanent residency............

and who might you be ? and what is your concern about my financial wel being or the status of my marriage . my sister in-law has been married to a russian

man for over a year now and very happy. My wife has had a perm residency card for over 2 years and we

have been married over 3 years , so my wife could file for citizenship in the US then just divorce me .

again I say what is it to you ????

  4. If her daughter was included in the application, then you should be okay. That's why you only had to pay one application fee. Now you might find it helpful to use the info pass before the biometrics appointment date to find out if you should have gotten a separate letter for her daughter, but I don't think they issue a separate letter when children are included in one application.

Also, consider going early for biometrics. Many have found they accept you as long as you have your biometrics letter.

Update, we recieved the biometrics appointment letters and the NOA for our daughter a couple weeks later and both have been to bio appointments .

So i guess we are waiting again.

Do most have an interview again? Or will we get the cards in the mail someday in the hereafter?

  6. Ok so I know that the question I am going to ask has been answered. I went through the guides to see if I could find my answer there, no luck. And I didn't feel like going through 57 pages of posts that have the words "AOS Interview" in them. So here's my question.

What do I need to bring to the interview?

    Marriage License

    Photo ID(both)

Photos from the past few years (dating period, wedding, vacations, family meetings, etc.)

Joint account info (will statements be ok?)

Lease (but it's only under his name)

Utility bills (none in both names)

Insurance (Auto, life, medical, etc.) (We haven't recieved the cards with our names on it yet, but his name

is on the site where we registered and I can get a copy of that)

Major Purchase (does a new bed frame count?)

A copy of all the forms we submitted

Is there anything else I am missing?

    Thanks for the help!

My wife had interview today and the main thing he asked for was to look at our "original" birth certificates

and he matched them up beside the copies that was sent with AOS paper work ...

Also any thing you have with both names on it is desired...

Yes bank statements are OK ...

    Good Luck !!!

  7. Finally we had our interview after waiting 8 months and it was just routine

questions about their parents names , places of birth ,dates of births, basically

verifying the paper work that was submitted with the AOS ... It was over in 10 minutes...

The officer said approved and should recieve GC in 7 to 10 days...

Thanks to all from VJ for all the help and support along the way !!!

  9. Here's the problem we faced: Irina took my name when we married and used it when applying for her Green Card. Now her marrierd name needs to be on her Russian passport to avoid confusion when she goes back to Russia (another VisaJourney spouse was prevented from returning to the US this summer because her passport name didn't match her Green Card name).

Since it's a new passport, we didn't want to go all the trouble of having a new one issued; so we took the simpler route of having a change made to her existing passport. Here's what she sent to the San Francisco Consulate:

    Bank money order for $20

Letter stating that she is now married and is requesting that her married name be added to her passport. Her signature was witnessed and notarized by a bank officer.

Scanned copy of her Green Card

Scanned copy of the recorded copy of our Marriage License

Return UPS envelope, second day air, prepaid (the Consulate had requested $12, $15, or $20 additional, depending on how soon she wanted it back, but I thought this was simpler)

That's it! In less than three weeks, she got her passport back! On one page is printed, in English, "the holder of this passport also uses the name ----------------, followed the words "Russian Consulate General in San Francisco", an official-looking stamp, and a signature.

One tip: let your spouse make the phone calls. When I phoned the Consulate, all I heard was "I DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH" followed by a dial tone.

This is huge information... simpler that carrying around a copy of the marriage certificate trying to bridge the gap between the different names..

    that's good to know !!! what's the phone #

  10. So what about obtaining a drivers license in Russia ???

Is that going to be a big hassle for me ???

When I was there, I translated my California driver's license into Russian and had it notarized by a Russian notary and it was sufficient to drive. However, obtaining a real Russian driver's license will be quite difficult. Mainly because you have to pass the written part in Russian. And you have to pass the driving part using their old manual transmission vehicle. From what I heard it is a much more critical and longer exam that our 5 minute and out test. But I think you can also drive in Russia using those international driver's licenses.

Was you ever pulled over and checked by the Milita ? That seems to be quite common in Russia..

Also what about Insurance ??? Is it required ???

  11. If you've been resident in Russia for 6+ months, you can file w/USCIS Field Office there and go straight thru to the Immigrant Visa application.
I wonder how the Embassy in Moscow defines resident? If resident means establishing official Russian residency then that means you have to go through the complicated processes of using a private visa invite and applying for permanent residency in Russia, getting approved 6 months later and re-entering Russia again. I have inquired about this processes as a way to circumvent the expensive business visa invitation, but the processes is so complicated it is not worth doing unless you have no choice. But if 6 months means having a business visa for 6 months then that might be the fastest way to a green card.

Also does your wife have to be a resident of Moscow as well?

Again, it is very hard to get a "propiska" for a Russian in Moscow. Most Russians in Moscow are not registered or official residents of Moscow!

It doesn't mention a specific visa type here, but based on other reports, I don't think that Permanent Residence is required. There is good contact info here tho, so one could certainly find out. (see below, the Consulate is also quite vague--it's only by word of mouth that we have the 6 months info)

Immediate Relative Immigrant Petitions (Form I-130):

U.S. Citizens residing in our office's jurisdiction may file petitions for immediate relatives at the Moscow office during public hours.

    Who May File and When

The Moscow office at the United States Embassy, accepts Form I-130 “Petition for Alien Relative” from United States Citizens who are filing for their spouse, parent, or unmarried child under 21 years of age. Petitions from Lawful Permanent Residents and petitions for relatives other than those mentioned fall into different visa categories and must be filed in the United States. United States Citizens may file their petitions between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Monday through Friday at the immigration intake windows 4 and 5.

    (blah blah blah more)

    http://moscow.usembassy.gov/consular/consu...ecord_id=ivisas

The Moscow Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office accepts immigrant visa petitions filed only by American citizens resident in Russia on behalf of their relatives any working day between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The Immigrant Visa Unit also approves issuance of fiance(e) visas. Fiance(e) visa petitions must be filed with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in the United States by the American citizen fiance(e). When the DHS notifies us of the petition approval, we will contact the fiance(e) with instructions on how to prepare for the visa interview.

The applicants should not expect that any information on the documentation submitted by the petitioner to the National Visa Center and received by the Embassy be provided by the Embassy at the applicant's, petitioner's or third party's request prior to the interview.

Please note, that any additional relevant information may be requested at a consular officer's discretion during interview to ensure that a visa is properly issuable.

So what about obtaining a drivers license in Russia ???

Is that going to be a big hassle for me ???

  12. I move to Russia next year and after we are married.
What will your legal status be in Russia? Business visas each year? To get temporary or permanent residency in Russia is a rather complicated processes but can be done if you need to stay for years at a time. You even get a work permit and chance at citizenship :P

for now I would just use my 1 year business visa that i have renewed for the third time

but like you say the others can be done . just depends on how it goes the first year ...

I am no expert but i believe after I live out of the USA for a few months that i can file

DCF in Moscow after we have 2 years of marriage and recieve a greencard on the spot.

    We'll see ...

  13. Satellite, can we get this done in Moscow? an amendment to her external passport indicating that she also used my surname.?
I have no idea. I know the amendment was done at the consulate level here in the US. But we only did the amendment after she got her green card, I am not sure, but I think the green card is needed to show the other name.

In Moscow, I'd suspect they'd tell her to go through the long processes of changing the internal passport. Just a guess.

We are back in the USA ... Went thru the SVO 2 in Moscow with no problems at all ... The tickets

were in maidon name and Parole in married name ... No one asked for Marriage certificate or even

    why the 2 different names...

At POE in Atlanta it went well also ... It took about 1 hour before they got to us but it only took

about 15 minutes for them to process her Parole Doc's and put the stamp on them...

All is great and we happy to be home... Thanks to everyone for your advice and support...

    Rob

  14. I think you'll be the first on the Russian forum and you'll be able to tell us how it went. My wife for example traveled last winter but she had a green card and an amendment to her external passport indicating that she also used my surname. Tickets and passport in maiden name and green card in married name. She returned without any problems.

    Good luck.

Satellite, can we get this done in Moscow? an amendment to her external passport indicating that she also used my surname.?

Just seems to be on my mind... I know we could have done this in the USA but really she had to go

in a hurry because of her mother was in hospital...

  15. I am concerned about returning to America with the AP documents in married name

and passport in maiden name, with tickets in maiden name...

Any one with any recent experience with this ???

I have heard from another forum that a Russian women was denied exiting Russia because

of passport being in maiden name and she had a greencard in married name...

My wife only has AP documents, no greencard ... Leaving SVO 2 Moscow to Atlanta ...

    Anyone ???

    thanks,

    rkintn

Hi! If i were you i wouldn't go travell with the AP Documents., wait till you receive the Conditional Card as its not gonna take a long time to receive it and go travel then,as its gonna be more safe....

    Best wishes.

    Sincerely.

Thanks for the concern and I agree with you but my wife is already in Russia it was an emergency
