Hi All,

We are getting worried here. We sent I-751 for my wife on 4/10. It was received at Vermont on 4/11. Still did not get NOA1 and the check was not cashed.

I double checked everything and I'm pretty sure there are no errors in our filing.

Any ideas why is it taking so long?

My wife visa was approved on 6/10 and we got the passport back on 6/18. She is States' side now and life is good.

I just want to point out that the expedite was approved after all the NVC processing was completed. I did pay AOS and IV fees, I sent both AOS and IV packages and they were reviewed and accepted.

So my understanding was they will just expedite scheduling the interview. I did look at the Cairo interview schedule but I guess my question was how long (roughly) does it take to schedule an expedited interview?

I will dig out DOS # and contact them. Thanks once again.

A couple of questions regarding the final steps at NVC.

Our expedite request was approved on Friday 5/4. I called NVC today and I was told our case was completed today and will be forwarded to the embassy. Yay!

1. I asked the operator about not receiving a "case complete" email. She stated that I will not receive an email. Is that odd? Doesn't everybody receive a "case complete" email?

2. Who will send the interview appointment letter; NVC or embassy? I understand normally you should get the notice from NVC but the operator was insinuating that I will hear from the consulate!

3. What time frame should we expect for the interview date?

I will call again tomorrow and may be I will get an operator who can/will explain things more clearly, but I thought some of the veterans here might chime in with better answers anyway.

Hello all! I sent the IV package today and I look forward to "case complete" and interview date soon. It's a long journey but hopefully we are close to the end. I will go to Cairo to accompany my wife to the interview. I like to plan early so I have a few questions for you all:

1. How much is the DHL fees?

2. Are there any other fees on the day of the interview? She is applying for CR1 and the visa fees is already paid to NVC.

3. Do they still not allow the USC spouse inside? If so are there any close by places to hangout at while waiting for her? I wanna be close in case she needed me.

4. Any recommendations for hotels conveniently located near or close to the embassy? (Wife does not live in Cairo and doesn't know).
