Okay,pls am having challenges printing the form 156 after filling it online. The internet connection/speed in lagos internet cafes is not to the required level. I had tried it severally with internet explorer and then mozilla firefox. So my question is: can I just print the blank form out and hand fill with black pen? Would it be accepted at the lagos consulate? Thank you for your suggestions.

Pls I want to find out if the K 1 visa application fee should paid in dollars or its equivalent in my country's currency. Thank you.

Hi everyone, pls I want to ask where and when can I pay for the visa application fees? Is it paid prior to the interview or on the interview date before the interview? Again. Is the fees pay at the consulate? Or at the bank? Would appreciate your responses.

Kemmy, we got our NOA2 around Jan 23rd. I waited till I arrived in Nigeria, which was a week+ later to email them. It was my 3rd time to email them when we received our packet 3/4. It had the interview date and time in the email plus all the paperwork to download. Hope that helps.

Pascanda,thank you. It really helps.sorry to bother. I assuming that my interview date might be almost a week or a couple of weeks from yours. Is yours coming up in a 2months time? Atleast it would help me to determine how long my interview date would be from now.

Once again, thanks everyone for the info on the police certificate and the medicals. I also want to ask, pls like you said earlier your package 3 came in within 2-3 weeks of mailing the embassy. I read somewhere that one doesn't need to mail them because they would certainly sent the package 3.now is that correct? Because am yet to receive my package 3. My NOA2 was on the 30 jan,2012.also, did your package 3 include your interveiw date?.

Also want to you , how long did you want to get your package 3 from the embassy?.

It depends on local custom and tradition and Lagos is known for being all over the place on their "rules" The tend to get picky about gifts being given to the brides father ( they sometimes latch on to the bride price tradition ) and have declared engage people married when they file for a K1 and they have occasionally gone the other route and declared married people no married. ( Usually when the Nigerian has a past tradtional wife and can't produce a divorce paper ) Lagos is the consulate where if you know everything you know nothing because it doesn't play by any rule book.

Also appreciate your post. Well,we didn't do any traditional marriage , exchange gifts nor pay any bride price. So atleast am abit consoled on that .

no it is not a red flag unless someone has a traditional wedding ceremony disguised as an engagement party...abide by the usual engagement customs and it will be ok.

Hi, am a new here.I am a beneficiary of a k-1 visa. The petition was approved on the 31st jan,2012.am waiting for my packet 3 and 4 from the consulate here in lagos,nigeria.but my concern about whether it would be sent by mail to me via courier or by an email?. Besides,can I send them an email requesting if they have the packet yet from the NVC?or would they notify me? Or better still, can I send an email requesting for the packet 3 and 4?. Pls I need your assistance. Thanks in anticipation.
