  1. So.. finally, yesterday, the long-awaited "Welcome to the United States" letter arrives in the mail. It seems like the officer approved it right away. Good luck to all the rest of you. Get there on time, and get all the paperwork straight. Everything else will be fine. (As you all know, we had to go back for the second interview, but things were ultimately alright)

All the best to you again..

  2. Well, if there's one thing I would like to ADVICE the rest of you, it would be "DON'T BE LATE". Last time, thanks to mapquest instructions, we made it there 10 minutes late. And the officer didn't seem thrilled about it. Arrive at least 30 minutes before the interview.

Anyway, this time, we arrived 45 minutes before time. The oficer was cordial. He said, that in our last interview, the officer "thought we might want to look at more docs", and hence we're called for this one.

He also said, he wanted to take a separate interview, and videotape it, but he decided against it in the last minute. (He didn't say why though)

No sooner had we finished the "oath-taking", we started to pull out stuff from our files, and overwhelmed him quickly. Bank transactions, insurance, apartment leases, letters, photos, cards whatever we could find.

20 minutes of chatting. At that point he said he didn't want any more docs. He will make his decision soon. "It looks good to me", he said, before we left.

No direct assurances, but we have a gut feeling that it went well.

Don't want to get our hopes too high though..

    Thanks.. hope that helps..

  3. Thanks all of you for your wishes! The interview went rather well. We showered the officer with docs. At some point he raised his hands up, and said that he was satisfied with the docs. And " we looked good".

He said he'd make a decision in a few days. (That part was a little frustrating coz we expected a decision right away).

So.. it seems like we shall find out next week. We will keep you guys posted.

    Thanks again..

  4. You would think something would be updated. Did they tell you now long it would take to get the welcome letter and GC? You could always try an info pass. Good luck

No, they didn't say anything about how long it might take.

Luvy had her interview March 13th and there were no updates until a few days before her card arrived. It arrived last week, thursday. Hopefully yours will arrive soon.

    Mike and Luvy

Did she receive any kind of verbal confirmation after her interview? Something like "You are approved" or anything to that effect?

  5. Hi,

We had out AOS interview on March 23. It all went well, except for the fact that we got lost in the way, and arrived there about 10 minutes late.

It was a fairly detailed interview, and he asked us all the regular stuff. Anyway, after about 30 minutes or so, he said "Well, I am already running late on my schedule. We will end the interview now. If we need anything else, we will let you know in writing."

It has been about 19 days since, and we haven't heard anything about it.

Is this normal? Or there might be something wrong going on here?

    Thanks...

  6. Hi, i would like to announce that i already received my Permanent Resident Card (greencard)!!! I had my interview last March 8 and the card arrived after 2 weeks, that was fast! It's only valid for two years, coz I'm a K-1 visa... My status has been lifted as CF1... just an info for everyone!!! Good luck to everyone waiting for their Permanent Resident Card... :D

    Congratulations!!!

One question though, were you guys able to tell after the interview that you "had it"? Did your passport get stamped?

  7. Hi,

I had my AOS interview this morning at San Jose. The officer was nice and courteous. He asked to see all docs and stuff. We showed him the regular marriage docs, insurance pares and so forth. He seemed to be satisfied. So, after some time, he said that he was already running 30 mins late, so, if we had any other support docs that we wanted to present, we might leave it with him. If he needs more evidence or requires me to reappear, he will let me know by mail. Didn't stamp my passport though.

My question is, are passports always stamped? Or is it that some just get the green card without their passports getting stamped?

What do you guys think about the interview results?

By the way, we are in a succesful marriage of about 2 years and 3 months. We both have good jobs and clean immigration records.
