Thanks, my wife actually wrote a letter and we sent in via american express. first express guy refused to send letter and than on my request he received and sent it to embassy.

You know what happened today? sitting in office thought to log on visa journey website and while reading other members thoughts and experiences i received a call from American Express and a lady( i would not forget her tender voice) has given me a long long awaited good news, she said " sir your visa has arrived and collect it today".

What a nice day and what a coincident that i received this news while surfing visa journey.

A few days ago i was reading a mail posted by Eabbas and was so much sad of how "visa" thing halted life of so many couples. I pray for e.abbas that a good news would be arrived for them too. I dedicate my good news for eabbas today, God bless them with good news soon.

Well now some details about my case . i filed my case last year in Feb and interview was held in October. Every thing was fine but denied for visa and asked to establish domicile for my wife who left US in 2005 and we married and started to live in Pakistan. we submitted only my wife American driving license and a lease agreement of accommodation in November. After that there was a long silence and darkness. Finally my wife got angry and wrote a letter to embassy a ten days ago in which she stated that if my husband is not given visa i cannot leave for America as it would be impossible for me and my little kid to leave without husband.After this letter i got a good news. it is important to note that i was intend to leave America without family to settle in first. I guess immigration authorities didn't like the idea. When we showed them our journey together, perhaps they liked it and visa is issued.

i am in AP too..my interview was in OCT 2011 n they asked for my husband's recent tax returns which we did send wihtn same month ill b completing 4 dark months in AP ths month ..i m calling DOS/embassy ppl frequently n our attorney is also in touch wd them..they dont need anythn now frm our end & seems everythn is clear but its in AP n widout having any clue tht wen it will end ( m heartbroken n nuthin wd out my dearest hubby..but one thing keep us all going is our strong believe n faith on ALLAH PAK tht he will def answer our prayers INSH AALLAH

Any good news? I am still in AP status. It has been eight months.

You may ask your petitioner to contact senator/congressman. It will either push your case or inform you the reason of delay. I think ISL embassy takes 6 month for whole name check process but it is not restricted to 6 month. Many cases take longer time and it depends on the frequent visits to foreign country(make name check process lengthy ), so there is no solid answer of your question.

Thank you for the advice. I called embassy and got typical answer that my case is under-process. I am just curious to know what is max and min time for approval.

any one who can share his or her experience of long long waiting time? I had interview six months ago for IR1 visa and ISL embassy kept my pasport with it. how long it could be. i want to get my passport back as i am planning to visit Nepal, would it hurt my case or they can continue their process without my passport?

Dear All,

I had my interview in ISL embassy in September 2011 and they asked my petitioner (my wife) to show domicile in US. We have sent then in a copy of driving license and a lease agreement. A month after the submission these proofs I received a call from the embassy and a lady has asked very common question as to where we are going to stay etc. And now two months have passed without good news from embassy. I am interested to know as how long we are going to wait? Anyone can answer to this?
