  1. I agree, there is more to the story and I don;t know where to go to. Any suggestion from this forum of someone who has gone through similar situation will be very much appreciated.

The embassy wants to recommend to USCIS to revoke my I-129F approval. Now, do I call the consulate oversee and request a reason why we where denied. Or should I write my state congress representative of the situation? Has anyone been thru this situation before. PLEASE HELP.

  2. Hello everyone.

Please help with what I need to do next.

I had known my fiancée for two years now. I was still marriage to my now ex-wife. We were going through divorce. When my divorce degree was granted I decided to file for my fiancée. My petition was approved by DHS, but today my fiancée went for her interview and the CO refused to give her Visa the reason was “EVIDENCE INDICATE THAT THIS RELATIONSHIP WAS ENTERED INTO FOR IMMIGRATION PURPOSES".

The two points he made for denying the visa was

1.) The age different. We have 20 years age dif.

2.) I had my relationship with my fiancée I before my divorce was final.

What do I need to do to convince them the relation is real before they send the petition back to DHS? I have a separation agreement dated Nov. 2010 with my ex-wife. I propose to my fiancee in March 2011. should I email the separation agreement to them in lagos embassy? I am confused and don't know where to go from here. Why should age difference be an issue?

  3. In form DS -156k there is this statement “THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR A FIANCE(E) NONIMMIGRANT VISA.”

Evidence of Engagement to Your Fiancé(e)

I did not have any formal engagement with my fiancée. when I ask is she will marry me and she said yes. What should I show them as evidence?

  4. First, I want to thank everyone on this site for their help. You guys are great.

My fiance interview is set for May 8th in Lagos Nigeria. In filling out FORM DS-156, We are not sure what to fill in the listed question below:

    26. How long do you intend to stay in U.S?

    27. What is the purpose of your trip?

    32. Do you intend to work in the U.S? (If yes, give the name and complete address of U.S employer)

    33. Do you intend to study in the U.S? (If yes, give the name and complete address of the school)

    36. Has anyone ever filed an immigrant visa petition on your behalf? (If yes, WHO?)

    Any help will be appreciated?

  5. I filled in September 2010 for my fiancee and we were approved last month Feb. 9th. I received my approval letter Feb 14th. Now my fiancee went to Lagos Embassy to request interview date only to be told they have not received the approval letter from America. So I call the customer service here in the states and they said it has been mailed out. This is strange. Has anyone experience this before in Lagos Embassy or any US embassy?

  6. I want to thank everyone for your input. I was freaking out hear because I always perform my annual test since I am in the medical profession. Never had this result before. turns out the Lab made a huge error in their test and they had to perform the test again. it came out negative. Just to be sure I tested with a private independent lab and the result was the same NEGATIVE...Thanks everybody....I am so relieved.
