  1. It all turned out fine in the end and I was panicking for nothing. What happened was they were both at DHL on Friday night. I received an email that mine was ready for pick up and I had tracking numbers for both of them. Apparently the system didn't get updated until Monday morning so my daughter's passport was actually there the whole time but not updated in the tracking system. I received an email Monday morning that her passport was ready for pick up as well. So now Visas are in hand and we will be crossing on July 23rd. Yay!

  2. This is exactly what happened when I registered for DHL as well. I printed the confirmation page and was asked for it first when I got to the doors of the consulate. They place a sticker with the reference number from your DHL registration on the back of your passport. There were people turned away that day because they didn't have it.

  3. My daughter and I had our interview in Montreal for CR1/CR2 visas on Thursday, July 12th. DHL tracking shows they were both picked up and left the facility in Dorval. My passport is now showing as undeliverable, or ready for pick up. However, my daughter's passport has no update since leaving Dorval. Should they not have arrived together? I tried calling but of course customer service is closed on the weekends. I'm starting to panic.....

  4. Interview today.....APPROVED!!!!!! Today was by far the easiest part of the process, minus the nerves. Pretty funny on the elevator when there was some of us facing the back and everyone else facing the other direction. Tommyintoronto was that you we were talking to outside??? I was the one with the 12 year old :) Hope you made out okay.

  5. I know they ask when you arrive at the Embassy if you have already signed up for the DHL service (which my hubby has) but wondering does he need to bring proof of that to his interview? Like a print out of the page where it shows he signed up? Or does he just need to confirm verbally that he has done it.

You need to bring the confirmation page you received when you signed up for DHL. I printed mine when I signed up. If you don't have this then I think you can go back to the DHL site where you signed up and print it.

  6. Finally got an interview for July 12th.

I guess I'll see some of you there !

I called Dr. Seidens on Friday and was able to get in for my medical this coming Monday. Great news as I'm leaving Toronto this coming Friday for good. The one thing I haven't figured out yet is how to set up DHL. Do I do that now or at the interview ? I'll read up on it later in the day but if anyone has figured this out, let me know.

    Good luck to all !

Medical on July 27th. Signing up for DHL was a breeze :)

  7. I received my interview date today and I'm attempting to register for DHL. I'm on a page where I have a choice of permanently immigrate (scheduled by NVC) or register for courier services only. Which one do I choose????

  8. I found out through the operator at NVC....no email yet, but I also was able to schedule a medical in Montreal. So little time, so much to do! But I don't mind in the least :)

  9. Called the NVC again tonight and got a different answer this time. The man I spoke to said they start scheduling on the first of the month and usually schedule until the 14th or 15th. So some of us could potentially hear something on Friday, June 1st. It's getting closer!!!

  10. My case was also completed on May 21st. I call the NVC every single day and I always get the same answer..."we schedule interviews the second week of the month so call back the third week of June." Calling everyday is obsessive I know, but I can't help it :) I think I am allowed to be obsessive after waiting this long.

  11. tri_gear My case was completed the same days as your case was. I called them and asked about an interview date and I got the standard response....

"We book interviews during the second week of the month. We were unable to book an interview for you for June, so call back the third week of June and we should be able to give you a date for July." Discouraging after so many long months of waiting, but July is better than August. I'm hoping that the second week is not always true and I'll have a date sooner than that.

  12. We had nothing financially to submit, including receipts or bank statements or credit cards. We tried to get a joint account but I wasn't able to do it without a social security number, which I can't get until I have green card, which I can't get without the I-130.....you get the point. It's a neverending circle. We had no RFEs at all with the photos and affidavit letters. They accepted that as proof enough for us. Hopefully they do the same for you.

  13. I submitted photos of us together, dated on the back. I also had a few boarding passes from visits, but I wasn't confident that was enough. So I had 3 people complete signed affidavit letters stating that they were aware of our relationship and how long we had been together. One was a co-worker, one was a friend and the third was a family member. There was no issue and our I-130 was approved. Hope this helps :)

  14. That's a huge help. Thank you!! It's written directly into our corollary relief that he allows me to move with my daughter. I have the copy but not the original because it was never provided to me. I'll most definitely be contacting someone to get the original or at least a notarized letter stating that I have a copy of the original.

  15. I'm trying to get all my documents in order for when the time comes for my interview. I am applying for CR1 and my daughter for CR2. Her father has given written, signed permission for her to move to the US with me. This was written into our divorce as a consent variation order. My question is whether or not I need the original of this. I have a copy, but not the original. Or can I simply get the copy notarized? I'm assuming I need this for my interview.

  16. I do not have a medical interview scheduled yet, nor do I have an interview date in Montreal. But, I'm wondering if it is necessary for me to pick up my medical results in person or can these be forwarded to the consulate in Montreal? I live in Nova Scotia, so a quick trip to Montreal to pick something up is not an option. I'm hoping I can schedule the medical exam and interview within a few days of each other. Anyone have any experience with this?
