  1. Thank you for the suggestions we will look into calling tonight since once we submitted the e form it told us to expect a reply by May 22 which is a long ways out there, and at this point we are becoming increasing more concerned about her mothers condition (86yr old) since yesterday she was moved to the ICU wing for her heart problems.

I also tried calling when I say the 5/22 date and of course even though my name is also on the form but when I called they gave me the old BS we'll have to have her there to give us permission to discuss this with you, so I will have to wait until I get home from work.

Any other advise - Help or similar experiences that can be shared would greatly be appreciated.

  2. We filed for my wife's I-751 3/18/15 and received her NOA on 3/30/15 now we have been waiting for a month to find out when her Biometrics appointment so she can go to her appointment prior to going to visit her family in China.

Today she found out that her mother was taken to the hospital with a heart problem and she is really anxious to get home what can be done so she can travel back to see her mother before we get an appointment?

From what I have been able to read she can go and reenter the USA with her current green card the NOA and her state drivers license and passport, is that information correct? also if she isn't here for her Bio appointment how long can we extend the reschedule for and does it create any problem with her coming home?

And advise will be greatly appreciated.

  3. My wife and i didn't request the SS# do we really need it for the forms? any advantages for having the SS#?

What about I-693? i understand that K1 visa holders don't need the examination but are we required to fill up this form? do we need to send a copy of the vaccination transcript?

    Please advice.

I agree with iwaiting the SSN unlocks the doors to many thing that you will try to do.

The vaccination transcript will have to be verified (copied onto a new form) and signed and then sealed by a civil surgeon so it can be sent in with your application.

  4. ya, not having a yellow book in hand, is really weird for how to go forward.

the answer of 'get it in a few months', IMO, is a BS answer from the clinic.

Darnell have you ever heard of anyone getting a copy after the fact from one of the China clinics? I am not sure but I think one of her sisters could make the trip to try to get (she has her ID card and other information from her) or maybe we could call and get a copy faxed?? what do you think any insight?

  5. That is not necessarily so. Please read some of the pertinent sections of the link I previously provided. The CDC recommendations are what the civil surgeons will likely use to guide them in determining your wife's vaccination status.

    "Unknown or Uncertain Vaccination Status

Vaccination providers frequently encounter persons who do not have adequate documentation of vaccinations. Providers should only accept written, dated records as evidence of vaccination. With the exception of pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (43), self-reported doses of vaccine without written documentation should not be accepted. Although vaccinations should not be postponed if records cannot be found, an attempt to locate missing records should be made by contacting previous health-care providers and searching for a personally held record. If records cannot be located, these persons should be considered susceptible and should be started on the age-appropriate vaccination schedule. Serologic testing for immunity is an alternative to vaccination for certain antigens (e.g., measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and poliovirus) (see Vaccination of Internationally Adopted Children)."

Try to find a civil surgeon that will work with you on this situation.

Happy trails on your immigration journey.

Thank you for the information especially about what Dr. Hong charges, he was one of the doctors that we were considering to contact since he spoke Mandarin but now maybe well check some of the rest especially in light of the fact he insisted on another xray and TB (she has her CD with her so I really don't want another exposure to xray).

  6. The original of the DS-3025 was in the sealed envelope that she handed at POE. Read that first post: http://www.visajourn...93-and-ds-3025/

Now the problem is that you would need to know what's in that DS-3025. If the doctor ticked the mark that her vaccination history was complete, then no problem. If you don't know or if she's missing any shoots but don't know which one, it's a problem.

Was her K-1 medical done less than a year ago? Do you know if her vaccination requirements were complete at that time? Did the doctor give her any missing vaccines?

That is correct the big problem is without a copy of her DS-3025 we don't know for sure that it was checked as being complete.

Her K-1 medical was done in August this year so well within the yaer limit. She did receive a couple of shoots while she was in her exam so I am inclined to think all are finished.

  7. My wife (applied as a K-1 fiancé) had her medical exam done at Health Care Center of Guangdong International Travel, at that time she asked for "yellow book" and was told it would take 3 to 4 months to receive it which would have been impossible to go back and get since she would be here in Seattle with me by then.

Since she never received a copy of her DS-3025 (or any of her paper work) what should we do?? has anyone else had this happen and what steps did you take to get the form so you could apply for your AOS for her?

Since we are both a bit worried about having to do all the immunizations (since she now has no proof) we hope there is an better way to get the requirements done since some of the shoots aren't really safe too necessary to repeat.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

  8. What we were told was to have a good cross section covering the whole time we have known each other (snap shoot over that time not all) and about 20 to 30 pictures especially those with family and showing other places together.

Of course we were well prepared and they didn't ask to see any of it even when she asked to show them..

  9. Thank you all for filling some of the unknowns for us. We now have our approval so we will soon find out what this early retirement is like in Wuhan and once we do of course we will put as much information out there so those that follow Will have a bit more idea of what they might expect.

  10. After a long 227 days (I know some have waited longer but it was an eternity of us) We just were approved at the Guangzhou Consulate for our K-1 VISA kicking.gif...Thank to everyone on VisaJourney for your help, support and guidance through this whole process.

We will post sometime in the next few days the whole process for all of you that will soon be here.

  11. All our friends who are in the same situation it is tough. If she has government pension or company makes a difference. Unfortunately only the two of you can decide which is best economically. Good Luck to both of you, four years is a tough one.

You are right bigdog 4 years would be a really long time. We know it will be a big decision and one we will have to face soon (since interview is next week). We were just hoping to see what others had done to act as a bench mark for what might be ahead of us.

  12. My wife had to get this retirement thing straightened out with her company and insurance so when she came to the US and turned 50 that her retirement money would go to her mother or sister. She said she didn't want to waste the money she had already paid in, anyway it took her a few months of going back and forth with her company and the insurance company to where we pay somewhere around 6,000 ren a year till age 50, and she turns 39 later this month. My wife says it is different with each city and based on what percentage you pay in is the percentage you get back, she wanted 100% payout. :help:

    Dan_ling

    Good information thank you.

So would youtell us did she stay in China for those 2 months while she work things out or did she go ahead and come to the US and do it long distance?

  13. no I am still working and will for at least another 3 to 4 years..her concern is that when she ask her company to retire early they will say no. We were hoping to find other people here that went through the same process and can share how they handled the whole thing.

  14. My wonderful Fiancé is about ready to have her interview in Guangzhou and we are being confident that all will go smoothly. Here is the next huddle for us, she has about 4 more years to work before she can officially retire (unless the China government make the changes they are talking about then even longer) so can the members please share with us how they went about retiring so we can have a better idea of what to expect and possibly what we will need to do.

  15. I need some input and advice to try to figure out if there will be any problems with any of the remaining steps ahead of us, after we get married, if my fiancé does not use my surname.

We have both discussed this topic at length and her desire is to remain with the Chinese custom/tradition of not changing your name after you get married. I have absolutely no problem with this idea and support her decision totally. My only concern and/or thoughts were focused around the many filings with USCIS still ahead of us.

Does anyone know if her keeping her family name will cause any problems for us in the future with any aspect of AOS, Permanent Residence, Working, SSN, etc?

Also I hope I guessed correctly on which forum to place this in since I just wasnt sure what topic it would fall under.
