Congrats JnB. Your experience with that Tier 2 agent shows they have all the information available about the cases. Whether they are nice enough to tell you about the current status vs trying to dismiss the call is another story. I'm glad yours was a helpful call.

Got the approval letter today. No updates online. It's been a long wait and finally got the letter of approval. Good luck to the rest of the May filers who are still waiting. I understand how frustrating it can be.
I don't know if it will help, I called service center around March 25 and insisted to talk to Tier2 officer. I was able to get information that my case was touched on March 22nd and was advised to wait 40 to 60 days. I personally think that calling doesn't really help but at least if you insisted to talk to tier2 and got lucky to be connected to a nice officer, then they may able to tell if your case was touched/reviewed or not. For me, that help minimized the frustration and agitation. I called early in the morning where they just probably started their day, and I haven't got difficulty connecting and talking to them.

1. Has anyone here undergone the same experience as what I am about to experience? How was the interview with the consul? Was he/she knowledgeable regarding CSPA and retrogression? What were the questions asked? I'm afraid the consul will just compute my CSPA age as of our interview date, which is 21 years old and 3 months. What will really help me is the retrogression clause.
Though I don't have personal experience with this. I have a cousin that was somewhat in similar situation before.
To answer your question: Yes, the consul are knowledgeable about CSPA and retrogression. Since you are a derivative and you will be interviewed with your parents, they will pretty much asks/direct the questions to your parents. As far as I'm concern you shouldn't be worried about your age since the considered age was actually your age when the petition was filed.
2. Any major dos/donts for the consul interview? Most of the experiences I've read here pertain to fiance cases. I rarely read anything about family based interviews. What are usually asked when the interviewees are a family like the 3 of us?
Don't lie. Do bring all the supporting documents.
Questions varies, but they will not ask questions that you or your parents couldn't answer. My suggestion is don't overthink. Just listen carefully to the questions.
3. What time should we arrive at USEM? Is 6:15 (our interview time) the earliest appointment time there is? Is there any advantage to being first in line?
It's better to be early that late. I assume that is the first interview appointment. But USEM always has a lot of people coming in early. So be sure to be there few hours early.
4. What should I wear? I'm a guy
Wear polo shirt and kakis. Semi formal attire will do.
5. Do we need to pay the Immigrant Visa fee again? We paid $400 each before, but I think the IV fee has been changed to a different amount already.
No. You do not need to pay the IV fee again since you already paid it. Even if the fee has changed, you do not need to pay the difference.
Yes you need to bring a CENOMAR.

The new instruction is to eliminate errors. Leave the line blank if your answer is none or N/A. The reason they did this is because some people got wrong information on their record because of this. For example: some people put "none" on the middle name line because they don't have middle name (this is because the old instruction was to pun "none" if the answers is none). But what happen is that USCIS actually put the none as the applicant's middle name, which create a problem to the applicant.
Don't stress on this too much. The instruction is pretty simple now: LEAVE IT BLANK IF YOUR ANSWER IS NONE or N/A, it's that simple.

Hello Everyone,
We have been waiting very patiently but its now been 11 months 1 days since USCIS accepted our package & we are now getting worried. USCIS website still shows our case under the acceptance phase. Last time when we sent in an inquiry we got a response via e-mail stating (this was 3 weeks back)
"Your application was recently received at this field office and will be processed in the order received. You should receive a notice of action within the next 45 days. If you have further questions you may make an InfoPass to speak with an officer".
Will an InfoPass help? Also the strange thing is that the field office where we received the notification is from DURHAM, NC & we reside in ATLANTA, GA. Does this mean we need to go NC or can we go to the Atlanta office for infoPass?
Any information would be helpful.

We pretty much have the same case. My local USCIS is also Atlanta, GA but my file was transferred in Raleigh-Durham Field Office. I got approved last July, so I think yours should be approved anytime soon. I don't think InfoPass will provide you any help right now since yours is already in Durham USCIS for processing.

Hi all!
A little update on our case.
July 2 - we received NOID and they requested medical and biographic information (sent that immediately to uscis raleigh-durham field office).
July 24 - Our case was updated to decision, our I-485 was approved.
July 29 - Order card/ card in production.
July 29 - we received the welcome notice hard copy.
I thought everything was going good and our application was finally approved. BUT..... when we received the welcome notice/approval notice, my wife's middle name was incorrect on the notice. Her middle name there was her middle name when she was single. We changed her middle name to her unmarried last name when we got married. All of our previous documents from USCIS were all correct. EAD, SS card, driver's license, all NOAs were all correct except with this welcome notice we received on July 29 and the NOID notice. We called them asking why it was like that. They said that's how they have it on their system. I told them why is it then that on her EAD, and all other uscis documents her name is correct. They just suggested us to go to INFOPASS. By the way we haven't receive the actual green card yet as of today.
Has anyone experience this problem before?

Form l-693 - Did you provide a copy of the 3025? If so, guess it was lost at USCIS and it's not the 1st time this happens... You have to quickly get a list of approved Civil Surgeon doctors in your area. Start calling and find the cheapest price. Do you have the Form 3025? Take this with you. Most likely, your overseas doctor paperwork has expired.
Form G-325A - Did you send this? If not, you messed up big time!

Need page 1 and the vaccinations page of the I-693 filled out by the Civil Surgeon. Take the shot records with you to the Civil Surgeon. The required vaccinations for AOS are, MMR, Tdap/TD, varicella(or history of chickenpox), and flu shot (only during flu season- Oct. - Mar.)

We sent everything they asked for last week. It should be in their office already (tracking indicated delivered).
Our original submission back in September included a copy of the 3025, and G-325A of my wife.
The NOID asked for I-693 and G-325A of me (the USC). I thought they only need the G-325A of the applicant.
Also, the field office that sent us the NOID was the Raleigh-Durham Field Office. I thought our field office is supposed to be in Atlanta since we live in GA.
I hope we'll receive good news soon.

As for us, after almost 10 months of waiting, we got a letter from the mail today and it wasn't what we were expecting. My wife and I are very frustrated as we never got anything or any updates in our case until this letter. I called USCIS and they can't even give me further information and was just told that the last mail that was sent to us was the biometrics appointment last october. Online status is still in Acceptance. And now we suddenly got this. It is very frustrating. We'll be doing what the letter is asking for, and hope it goes ok from then. Has anyone experienced this before? The letter is as followed:
NOTICE OF INTENT TO DENY
This is your notification of the Service's intent to deny your Application to Register Permanent
Resident or Adjust Status (Form 1485) pursuant to 245 of the lmmigration and Nationality Act, as
amended (the Act).
Section 245 of the Act states in pertinent part:
The status of an alien who was inspected and admitted or paroled into the United States
or the status of any other alien having an approved petition for classification as a
VAWA self-petitioner may be adjusted by the Attorney General, in his discretion and
under such rigulations as he may prescribe, to that of an alien lawfully admitted for
permanent ..rid"r"" if (1) the alien makes an application for such adjustment, (2) the
alien is eligible to receive an immigrant visa and is admissible to the United States for
permanent residence, and (3) an immigrant visa is immediately available to him at the

Demonstrating eligibility at time of filing. An applicant or petitioner must establish
that he or she is eligible for the requested benefit at the time of filing the application
or petition. All required application or petition forms must be properly completed and
filed with any initial evidence required by applicable regulations and/or the form's
instructions. Any evidence submitted in connection with the application or petition is
incorporated into and considered part of the relating application or petition.
The record shows that you failed to submit items required by applicable regulations and/or the form's
instructions and consequently, have not established eligibility for the benefit sought. Pursuant to $
291 of the Act, the burden of proof is on the applicant to establish the eligibilif for the benefit sought.
Please comply with the following:Please submit evidence you are current for age specific immunization. Please submit a properly
completed Form l-693,Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. The medical
examination section does not need to be completed, but the vaccination record must be completed by
a civil surgeon who has been designated by USCIS.
The Vaccination Record (documentation of immunization) is documented by completion of:

. Part 3, and
. The Vaccination Record.
To obtain names and telephone numbers of the designated civil surgeons in your ilrea, go online to
http://www.uscis.gov/ or call USCIS'National Customer Service Center at l-800-375-5283. You
may need to provide your zip code. Have a pen or pencil ready to write down the list of civil
surgeons in your area.
The civil surgeon must conduct the exam as directed in the instructions to Form I-693 and in the

United States. Both the medical examination and the vaccination record must be completed when

Please note that the fomr must be sealed in an envelope by your examining physician. The unopened

In accordance with 8 CFR $ 103.2(b), you are hereby given thirty (30) days from the date of this
letter to inspect the evidence in this case and offer written evidence in rebuttal. If you submit a

A little pointer: For People who got interview in Manila embassy. If you would like to track the status of your visa from 2go e-trace website. There are three numbers you can try, first is your MNL case number. If that doesn't work you can try the passport number. If that doesn't work still, you can try the UID from your embassy appointment letter (you can see this on the bar code of the appointment letter). The UID was the one that worked for us.

As what everyone is suggesting here:
1. Make sure you get a copy of the actual RFE letter.
2. Make sure you get a complete copy of what was submitted (I-129F package) by your lawyer.
3. Respond to the RFE yourself.
4. Fire your lawyer.
I agree with everyone else here, either your lawyer didn't submit everything you provided or the RFE is actually them asking how you met.
I send the same thing you've listed and I got approve without RFE.

If you have shown them those 3 recent paystubs, they may have approved you right then. After the interview did you know then that you have those files with you. You could have submitted them while you were still there. But anyway, I think that's all really they wanted to see (recent paystubs and employment verification letter).
. And yes, it is definitely a good sign that they have your passport and all other supporting documents. You'll be approved. . Good Luck! and congratz! -
hi everyone! i am new here, anyone could tell me their experiences after booking the flights here in the Phils going to NAIA and port of entry is in Atlanta,what else wud i expect or to do...i know that i have to hand carry my visa packet envelope as a k1 visa holder any other else? where am goin to passed it? is there any desk info that could hel op to me,also any fee that i need to pay? thanks alot!
May I ask what airlines are you flying? For international arrival and departure in atl, there is a newly opened terminal for those flights. So the walk from the airplane to the IO and customs will probably not too far. But after you finished with customs, then that will be your long walk out of the airport. As mentioned by previous post you'll need to ride the train in the airport to your terminal destination. You'll see a lot of signs that you'll be able to follow easily. You dont have to pay anything for the train that goes around atlanta airport? Good luck and happy trip.

I requested mine online only once. I got them throuh mail after 5 business days. I was surprise it was that fast. my theory is sometimes maybe their system goes down. But it works. I guess the lesson here is after the first request and nothing is received in 3 weeks, it's better to talked to live person and do the request with them.

On theworknumber.com, there is an employment verification for immigration purposes link when you, the employee, log in. These shows your company, your position, hire date, how much you make each year since you started there, and some employment information. You can print that out.

As far as I know nothing goes to embassy when you filled out the DS-156 form online. It just generates a unique barcode for identification purposes.
I would rather spend an hour to take care of it and have peace of mind. It really is just a simple fix.

Charmander is right, it's the same number. I called early in the morning making sure that they just started working. The tier1 told me that normally they are not allowed to connect my call to tier2 since my case is still in the normal processing time. I insisted in a polite way anyway. It is a long shot and it is not really guaranteed that they will connect you. I guess calling in the morning might be better. Good luck..
