  1. Hi people out there,

so my husband sent an email requesting information of the release of my sons and my passport after the interview in Frankfurt on the 11 of dec 2012.

The Consulate in Frankfurt replied quickly within a couple of hours, saying:

Today we received the result from the administrative processing and forwarded the cases for further processing (printing, sending).

Your wife and stepson should receive the visa packages the next 7-9 working days.

So our files were in administrative processing and nobody let us know. On the day of the interview the officer told me that we would receive our passports in 7 to 10 workdays.

Well, honestly ... I dont believe it until I see it, but I am thankful they answered at all.

Now I am wondering .. what date counts for the validity of the visa?

Is it the interview or the printing date?

I would be thankful on any information on this issue, since I am wondering if probably my son will be able to finish

his school year here in germany.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Yes but was it DoS who gave you those answers?

And that last answer makes no sense at all....why would your sons age be an issue? Call back to DoS and ask to talk to a supervisor..

I know right? I am not sure what DoS means? They forwarded my call to someone who had my paperwork. I am afraid if I call to often they might get annoyed.

Its not even that we are in a hurry, but hey ... 4 weeks is a long time, especially since they said I cant do anything about it, its on them.

  3. Hello everybody,

we (my 13 year old son & myself) had interview in Frankfurt germany on the 11 0f december 2012,

the passport hasnt arrived yet. Anyone with a similar experience in germany?

I called last week and the responses to my question was 1. technical problems 2. electronic problems 3. internal issue since my son is 13 years (??).

The lady said it can take days or weeks ... Seriously?

What else can I do except of waiting?

    Thank you for your input.

  4. Hallo an Alle,

Well, you cant tell how they do it and how long it takes.

I had my interview last tuesday with my son and still cant track the package, which means they havent sent it out yet.

My friend had the interview on wednesday last week, guess just like you, and she told me today that se was able to track it today,

which means its on its way to her YaYY ..

So, just be patient. I believe it comes this week, if not then it will come after the holidays, cause I read the consulate is closed between the years,

    just cant remember the dates.

  5. I have a Mac Mini, so it's defifintely small enough to fit in my backpack.

I have been told that my European computer will work with the American power grid.

Thanks for the input btw. I appreciate it. :)

That is not a problem at all, I took my iMac, the big one, a year ago as carry on. When I was there as a tourist lol

They just called me into a room with other people bringing their big computers, cause they check on them seperately sometimes.

So maybe the waiting time at security is longer, but maybe you are lucky too ;-)!

  6. This thread should likely be locked. Can't ask a question like this and not expect an emotional response.

And its not about emotions, its about facts.

6 months????? What have you been doing 6 months to come to a conclusion like this?

As a woman I can assure you, it will backfire on you ... if she decides to have an abortion

based on the fact that you (stating you will never take care of it) talking her into one!

A woman in a situation like this is very easy to influence, and another fact is ... he didnt rape her!

The psychological damage is only a matter of time! A fact!

Sorry about the situation, but you need to find a healthy solution for all of you.

  7. Hello All,

We didn't get a receipt number with our NOA1. How can I find out what ours is? Who do I contact? Doesn't Frankfurt (our USCIS office) give receipt numbers?

I asked a similar question a few days ago and got the answer "of course you got a receipt number."

But...we really didn't. I don't know what to do. I don't even really know how important it is, but I'd love to track our case.

    Thanks!

    Hi to you,

I can only tell you how it went for us ...

I am not sure if you mix things up or not ... Frankfurt isnt our USCIS office, its the US consulate where, when the processing is coming to an end, we will have to be interviewed before

receiving our visa, at least for those living in this area ... before anything goes to Frankfurt, USCIS sends the paperwork to a service center (which one will be mentioned in your NOA1 email) from there to the NVC (national visa center) and when it comes to an end ... this is when the NVC scedules an interview appoinment for you at the embassy in Frankfurt ... that is only then, when you will actually deal with them.

The receipt number and the receipt notice will (as usually mentioned in the NOA1 email), come by standard mail to the adress you gave on your form, like it says in the NOA1 email ... 7 to 10 days after .... with that number you may go to the website and check on ... MY CASE STATUS ... hope this will help!

And if you really didnt receive a number, then you will have to call Vermont Service Center .... since they are doing your paperwork, like you stated on your timeline.

Dont become nervous ... its better to practice patience with this paperwork process ;-))

    Good Luck on your journey!

    Faten

  8. Hi! Start calling NVC a week after you got your NOA2! They will give you a case number and will forward the papers to frankfurt. You dont really have to do anything anymore but to send your fiance the affidavit of support and the letter from your job, bank statements and pay stubs. He should check out the us consulate page ( http://german.germany.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/antrag/ ) and complete step 3 through 6. You can send in everything at one time. The required documents of the checklist too. As soon as you get the case number have him get the passport type pictures(check the page for the size)taken, all his shots and then go to get the medical done. The consulate will write him a letter which will just tell him that they received the papers and give him the link that i inserted above. He can start filling it out already. Dont worry too much about the evidence of ongoing relationship. You can send in a copy of a card, maybe an email and a recent pic and thats it. He can also get the police certificate already and the international birth certificate. I got 3 since i will need them for the aos.

  9. Hi all,

I have a question: one of the requirements for the IV package according to LingChe says: "police certificate is required for any place in their country of citizenship; the beneficiary has lived longer than six (6) months, after the age of 16."

I have my police certificate from Germany but there is only one certificate, there are no certificates for specific cities/ places. Since I lived in several cities in Germany since I was 16 I am worried that they want to see more certificates.

    Any experiences with that?

    Good morning,

actually the police certificate has nothing to do with the diffrent places you have lived at in germany,

since the records of the Einwohnermeldeamt show and proove where you have been registered. Its a must in germany

to register whenever you move. The police certificate is issued from the data base in germany which allready stores

every kind of information about you.

I only sent in one, the only one I could get :)

But let me know if I am wrong, thank you!

  10. Hello, I have a few questions.

    1. Did you get your case number as a hardcopy from NVC ?

    2. DS-3032 is the form that VJ has a sample template ?

    Thanks.

    de_nhui,

BTW, I received NOA2 on July 20th. I am try to collect information so I can file out in adance.

    No hardcpoy ...

in our case we received 3 emails, one for my husband (petitioner) for him to verify my adress in germany and the NVC case Number, AOS Invoice, Invoice Date, Amount Due and Invoice ID number.

The other 2 emails to for me and my son.

  11. Congratulations! I thought you meant NVC has just got your case in the mail from USCIS. It's great that you've got your case number and IIN.

    Thank you!!!

Yes, we somewhat feel relieved, cause it seems they do take long lately. My husband just called once last week and they told him that they have too much work and

not enough people to work on the cases. Actually she asked us not to call again and better wait another 2 weeks, lol so of course we were surprised to hear from them yesterday.

  12. Hey everybody,

same with us. NOA 2 on june 22nd ... but they said it will take them 30 days minimum, after this we should call.

So I guess we will next week. I also think that regardless of what time they receive the papers from any service center .. we should should forget about

who got approved before or after.... I dont believe they consider that. Hopefully we all will hear some good news soon ... stay positve!

  13. Normally, you would need to spend more time inside the USA than outside. However, if your husband is with the military or an official government contractor, there are ways around that.

    Thank you Queen ;-))

Yes, he is official goverment contractor ... and of course in case of a move we would live here, more out than inside the USA .. thats the problem.

Ways around it ? What could this be?

  14. As long as he keeps an address in the US, I think it would be ok if he came to Germany. The thing is, once you get your visa, you have 6 months to move to the US otherwise it is invalid. Also, if you choose to stop the process now, you don't get any money back, and you'll have to pay the same fees in the future.

    Thank you for the reply,

he did work in his GS job here before, so that is not the problem. I also know that the visa once issued is valid for 6 months ... we are wondering what will happen if the entire family will have to move back to germany once he gets hired from here .... what will happen to my visa, cause I read on here that once I enter the USA with an immigrant visa, I would have to stay ... at least not leave for more than a couple of weeks in the year ....
