I sent the Readiness for interview form along with the other DS Forms before I had my medical although I did include a cover letter stating my medical date. Will they still accept it?
-
Can anybody tell me how long it takes usually at the London Embassy to process the DS Forms and receive an interview date?
-
I am confused. You have been approved for your K1 petition? Or are you talking about the approved I-129F petition?
Your timeline says your I-129F petition was just approved in July 18th.
Sorry I-129f

I have received my letter from the London Embassy saying they have received my approved K1 petition. Now, it says complete forms DS-156 etc but there is a notice, 'DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND ANY DOCUMENTS UNTIL YOU ARE SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED TO DO SO....' Do I send all the DS forms to the London Embassy now or wait till I get a further notice.
Thanks

D'oh...thats good news though. Thank you

Thanks all for your comments, they have helped and eased my mind. I guess the most important thing is that we are together and everything else will drop into place in due time.

you already have your NOA2.. stick with it..
with my fiance.. we are getting married, just us two.. very shortly after she gets there.. so we can AOS>. ASAP.. wedding in VEGAS will be for everybody
We have the same plan in Vegas, it is where we met. JACKPOT!

Since filing for K1 in February I visited my fiance in the US on 3 occasions, never without a problem. A few questions on entry but its normal to expect that. I wouldn't worry too much.

If you get married in November/December anyway, before the K-1 is approved. Then, the K-1 visa will be revoked and you MUST start over.
You really think it will take 4/5 months to complete K1 from now? We have just preparing to post packet 3.
-
I know, I would go over again in September and go a courthouse wedding which was our plan in Nov/Dec anyway then have a bigger celebration next spring.
We have been lucky enough to travel to see each other several times since applying for the K1, I guess there are no restrictions on visits using the IR1/CR1?
-
And now I read of VJ that the average time for AOS is 112days. My head just exploded!

I am almost 6 months into my K1 visa app and have received my NOA2, things are looking good...until I read that once married it is taking 9 months for the AOS process to be completed so almost a year before I could even start applying for a job. Now, as I understand it, a IR1/CR1 visa, which takes around 7 months to complete you are granted a green card when the visa it granted. Would it be better to go back to square one and go for the IR1/CR1. We are planning for me to go over (all being well) in November/December, then 9 months wait for AOS is August whereas if we start again with a IR1/CR1 in September it would be around April when the visa is sorted and I'm authorised to work.
Please correct me if I have totally got this wrong and any thoughts
Thanks
Jim

I think it's accurate if you're adjusting from K-1. But you might want to check the other forum:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/7-adjustment-of-status-green-card-from-family-based-visas/
That's where other K-1's are.
Thanks. Didn't mean to put that on this thread, thought I was starting a new one...D'oh!

Hi people. I just read that the AOS is taking 9 months to complete, can I get some feedback from those who have recently been granted to see if this is accurate. It sounds like a crazy amount of time before I could even start applying for work.
Thanks

9 months before a Green Card, is this accurate? Does this mean I cannot work for almost a year?

Here is a link with information about your consulate and links to answer your question.

Having received our NOA2 approval I am compiling forms for the next stage. Do need to send my fiances Affidavit support information with the next packet or do I take it to the interview.
Thanks

We finally received our NOA2 letter, approved! What next?

Thanks, that is all I need to know.

Hi all,
We applied for the K1 visa in February and we would like to start planning our wedding. We have decided to go to Vegas (where we met) but an organised event rather than a little white chapel. What experiences can anyone share about planning and basically guessing when it will be held. Could we be more confident about booking a date when the NOA2 comes through?
Any thoughts would be grateful
Thanks

I am currently visiting my fiance in the US and we are filling out and double checking all the forms and information to send off for the start of the K1 visa process. QUESTION 12. Is your fiance currently in the US? Yes, I am but I did not need a I-94 form to enter the US so didn't fill one out. Will the consulate identify this as a UK citizen I entered the US through the ESTA visa waiver scheme? Should I state 'yes' and explain with the visa waiver in the answer box?
Thanks everyboby for your help

On the I-129F for question 18 'describe circumstances of how you and your fiance met' how much detail is required? I met my fiance while on vacation in Las Vegas last June, do we need to include all the times we have visited each other since then or just focus on the time that we initially met each other.
Thanks
Medical
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

I have been approved and am now starting my new life in the USA with my fiance. We are getting the paperwork ready for the next steps and my query is about the medical. It says you don't need one if you've had one with a year. Check. But it also wants the medical form and vaccination records, I have my vaccination records from the doctors in the UK but I don't have any other forms reguarding the medical as I handed my parcel in on entry to the states. Any help please?
