  1. i Just wanted to update you all on my Visa Journey which for the time being will be over with as I don't need to renew the Green Card for two years time!!! Back in July 2012 I came over on the Fiance Visa to Hawaii to be with my now Hubby - we got married on 23rd August, and then shortly after we started the next step of the Visa Process - we filed this in early September - I had the biometrics, then came the interview! I got the approval letter two weeks ago and on Monday of this week I received the Green Card in the post!!

So I wanted to wish you all good luck if your starting out on the process, I can say it's a long wait but def worth it - and for those who are waiting for their Green Card it will come in post very quickly!!

I am sure I shall be back on VJ nearer the time for renewal but I wanted to thank everyone who has helped me along the way and also this is such a great website that def helps :)

  2. Morning!

I just wanted to say that this morning my Visa arrived in my passport along with the relevant documentation (my interview was Wednesday 30th May!). I opted for the 6.00-8.00am service and at 7.59pm it arrived!

I can't believe this day has happened after months and months of preparation!!

I am sure I shall be back on the forum when I am applying for that AOS!

Good Luck to you and thank you again for all of your kind words and help!

  3. Morning All,

I just wrote a little message but it doesn't seem to be working so I thought I shall post again!!

Yesterday I went to the London Embassy and after just 40 minutes I heard those magical words "You are Approved"!!! I shall write up a longer description of what happened later on today, but I just wanted to thank you all for all of your help and wishes!

    Don't give up!!

  4. Morning Everyone!!

I shall write a description of my experience later on today but I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone!! A few weeks time I shall be heading over to Hawaii to start a new life with my hubby to be!

Good Luck to everyone - it's def worth the wait to hear those great words "Your Approved"!!

  5. Hey!

I sent the document to the London Embassy on Tuesday 1st May and I rang this morning to see whether they have updated my record and they are saying that they haven't got anything on record to say it's arrived, however this is because they may still be checking this over etc. I have had my medical which was done on Tuesday 1st May and I have also paid for the Visa so it's literally waiting around for the interview date to be confirmed. How long roughly does this take as I was hoping that I would be getting married and starting a new life for August at the very latest. Has anyone had this experience of not hearing for a few weeks from the Embassy?

    Many thanks

  6. Hi there,

Just worried about something I have written on the D-156 re - working within the US - I have sent off the document to say No - however once approved etc I really need to work - the reason why I said No was because I didn't know what to put as the employer address etc.

What should I do as I don't want to be refused to work? Should I re-do the document and send it with a covering letter explaining or wait?

    Please help!

    Gemma

  7. Hey!!

I just wanted to update you all - I had my medical yesterday and everything went well - I just need to get a few vaccinations which I can do at my local GP.

I found the medical very easy and everyone was very nice and made you feel at ease.

Good Luck to all of those who have a medical appointment coming up!

The results will be at the Embassy (if all is well) on Friday - so fingers crossed the interview letter will be in the post shortly!

    :)

  8. Morning!!

I just wanted to say that the last few weeks things have moved along really quickly - the documents are being dispatched in the next four days to the London Embassy and I have booked for the medical which is in a few weeks time!!

I just wanted to give hope to all of those who are still waiting - once you get the NOA 2 things really do pick up pace!

Next Thursday I get to see my fiance - the last four months have been tough but the moment you see your future hubby walking through arrivals - it's the best feeling!

Thank you for all of those who have offered me help on here - still a few more steps but we are getting there!

  9. Hello Again!

I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me - we are waiting on the necessary actions with regards to the actual Interview Date - however in the meantime my fiance is moving to Hawaii (where I shall be joining him) this is where he will be based in the Military - however we don't have any accommodation as yet (he has some time off to look for an apartment for the two of us). However with regards to all of the paperwork that has been filled and also the forms that I will need to take to the interview - what do I do about the address because I have been using his NYC address.

Does this affect all that has been done with the application for the fiance visa?

    Many thanks

    Gemma

  10. Thank you so much!!! I shall let him know :) Do you know how many letters he will be recieving during the next few days - I think he also got a letter to say about how we shall be getting spot checks once married...

  11. Hey!

Great news we recieved the email to say that we have been approved and my fiance has just told me that the NOA 2 is waiting for him at home!

I wanted to go ahead and start getting things in place with regards to the Medical - however the London Medical Centre said I have to wait for a LND number with 10 digits after this - when or where do I get this number from?

How long do you think this will all take?!

    Many thanks - :)

  12. Hi All...

So having thought that my fiance was going to be staying within the NYC area for his new Military Base and now being told that he will be going anywhere else within the USA - what happens to the I129F documents that are awaiting to be checked and in the process for NOA2 with regards to his new address and does this change about where the sent the forms in the first place? I hope this doesn't cause any trouble and make the whole situation even longer. Has anyone been in this situation before?

  13. Hey!

I have just read someones post on here with regards to times and how it's taking such a long time etc...However someone mentioned that if you join the military you automatically get put before others...is this true? My fiance is in US Coast Guard and at this moment in time we are waiting to find out where his new post will be - it could be anywhere within the US. As you can imagine we are both getting worried about this as nothing has been sent and no "touched" has been logged on the website - I am worried about that too - I see people commenting about their documents being "touched" and ours haven't.

Does anyone have any hope for the VSC being made quicker with the paperwork?

  14. Hi All, I am brand new to this forum - however would like to say that the site has helped my fiance and I a lot! First of all I am in the UK and my fiance is an American - we met last year at a Yankee Game and the rest is well history!! So we sorted out the paperwork and we got the first notice back in December (the end) and now I keep checking the status and all it ever states is Initial Review - is this normal. We are so desperate to get things moving as he is in the Military and will be based at a new station in May/June time - what do you think the actual timeline is going to be - am I getting my hopes up to be thinking it will be soon? Thank you :)
