good luck on your interview thursday. Ours is in two weeks. I'll be thinking of you. Let us all know how it goes. Esp. when they tell you to pick up the visa... I'm trying to get a feel for how long they are making ppl wait.

did you give them the documents they asked for? with the k-1 visa you have to take them the items on the checklist and then once they have them they will schedule you I believe. IR-1 is the opposite because you turn everything in to the NVC and they send it to the embassy. Call: Monday through Friday, except Wednesday, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., to the following telephone numbers: 2519-2274, 2519-2458 that is the consular section.

I spoke to a woman at the embassy the police cert. does need to be translated. But it can be done by someone who is fluent in both languages, like yourself. I am going to do it for my husband's cert. The civil documents... like your birth cert. also needs to be translated. Since we did IR-1 we already submitted that to the NVC and it was translated by a law student who has been helping us. So yes, to your question, but not an "official translation" from what I understand.
