When returning from Europe with Advance Parole this summer, I will have to have a layover in the US. What is your opinion on the minimum amount of time to leave at the layover city to deal with immigration based on your experience? Gracias!

Hello fellow VJ members
I have a quick question. My husband just received his EAD. Before, he had a K1 Visa. He was going to interview at a company here in Cincinnati, but they told him that he needed his green card first.
Have any of you experienced anything like this? Are there limitations on your job search with an EAD? This was a big surprise to us, so we are looking for some answers.
Thanks

Gracias! We are so nervous for his interview at the embassy in Madrid and want to do everything perfectly!

Here's our situation:
We started the papers for a K1 visa when I was living at one address (my parents' house) on February 1st of this year.
At the end of February I moved into an apartment, however I still have my parents' address listed for my job, bank, etc. because I am not sure how long I will live here.
Now my fiance has his interview next week, and we aren't sure if he should put my parents' address (that we used for the I-129F) or my apartment address on his DS156.
Any advice? Thanks!

what you have in savings does not matter as long as you meet the income requirement. Good luck!!!
Good to hear! All that worrying for nothing! Gracias!

As long as your income is above the poverty level for your new household size, you are good to go. How much you have in savings does not enter into the equation.
Thank you!

Hello everyone! My fiancé and I just received our NOA2 for the fiancé visa and we are very excited! Now we are looking forward to his interview, of course. From what I’ve read, it seems like the interviews in Madrid go pretty smoothly, but we do have a couple of questions regarding our financial situation which is as follows:
I (American citizen) have a steady job as a teacher in Ohio making $42,000/year, but I only have $1,000 in savings. I do not own a home (I rent), but I do own a car. No kids. $30,000 life insurance.
My fiancé (Spanish citizen) is unemployed (there are no jobs in Spain!) and doesn’t have much savings either. He does have a degree in Economics and plans on finding a job as soon as possible in the U.S., of course. All of his previous jobs have been temporary work, nothing with a contract and nothing related to his degree.
So my question is…will our financial situation be something that they are concerned about and/or a reason to deny his visa? If so, is there anything we can do to remedy this besides filling out the I-134? Co-sponser?
Thanks!
Laura
