I waited a month between interview and ceremony in Houston, but for my parents the wait was only a week. In our district the ceremonies are scheduled for set dates throughout the year (every month or month and a half) and when you get approved they just schedule you for the next one- my parents were just lucky to be interviewed right before a ceremony already scheduled for the following week.

I was an LPR for 13 years, but I immigrated as a child, so I self-identify as American as well as being from my home country. The main reason I applied for citizenship was so that I would be able to leave the US for an extended period without having to deal with USCIS (I'm 21 and about to graduate college- I want to travel, etc...and it it doesn't help that my boyfriend lives in the UK.) Secondary reasons include being able to vote, the perks of getting a US passport (no more visas for Europe!) and finally just being able to officially call myself American when in my mind I'd already been one for years.

I don't know if this goes in Off-Topic but I couldn't find a more appropriate place to put it so....
My boyfriend came to visit me on the VWP from the UK in December- he stayed for 2 weeks and left after New Years. He flew back to the UK out of Chicago O'Hare airport but did not use the US-VISIT machines upon his exit- he says he never saw them. He did, however, turn in his I-94. Would he have trouble returning to the US for another visit in the future? Thanks for any help.

coming in late, but...
I filed an N-400 last year while I had a pending I-90 (to renew my green card.) There were no problems with having the 2 outstanding applications, and I got my US citizenship four months after I filed.
