  1. Its pretty unfair, cause you already paid for it and its not your fault. Not only that but I dint understand why the USCIS doesnt have a clear criteria on their request for medical results. I did not file the I693 with my aos package, only sent a copy of my vaccination sheet. No RfE and I was approves without interview. Some people say you need to fill a partial I 693 and now the are requestion you an entire examination, even when you already paid for it! I just dont get it

Yeah, I don't get it either.

It says "Submit a copy of your completed and signed Department of State (DS) medical forms ((which I have)) OR submit a properly completed and signed Form I-693"

  2. Long story short:

    1. Filed for AOS back in July 2012- entered country on K1 Visa to get married

    2. Smooth sailing

    3. Suddenly get a case update- immigration wants to see my medical examination because it was 'unavailable'

    4. I completed a medical exam to get a K1 visa, sent a copy of that examination with the AOS application (they were the proper DS forms)

    5. The notice says send a completed exam or 'I-693 report of medical examination and vaccination record'

Did they just lose my original medical and vaccination record? Should I send another copy? Or should I get another done here in the States? Similar thing happen to you?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  3. Hey guys!

Sitting in LAX atm, looking to kill time before my next flight. :P I've been going over the AOS guideline (http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos) and found this:

"-you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. If you are missing any shots from your overseas medical a I-693 vaccination transcription is required-"

Looking at my DS-3025 (form with vaccination ticks), a lot of them have been marked 'not age appropriate'. But there are plenty others that are 'completed'. Just want to know if 'not age appropriate' counts as missing.

    Thanks!

    Danny

  4. I have it. Not even a week after the interview. Which has left me a little annoyed, because hasn't it taken other people over 2 weeks to get it?

Anyway, holy #######! I'm ooking at flying out this Friday. WOOO!

And no, I did not open the 'do not open' package. ;)

  5. Sydney only has their interviews on Tuesday mornings (at least for K visas anyway). My interview was May 15, which was scheduled on April 26.

I tried to move that date forward but didn't have any luck. I know someone on here has had success in doing that though, so if you ask, you might be lucky! (I don't know about moving the interview date back though)

    Hope that helps!

  6. It was over so fast, I don't think I have much to say.

I arrived at the MLC centre. Walked into an elevator and selected the 10th floor. Passed through security, leaving behind my bag and electronics. Went on up the 59th floor. Showed my passport to a lady behind a window and she buzzed me in. Walked up to a little kiosk with three buttons, hit the top one for K visas. As soon as my ticket came out, my number was alled. I didn't realise and I sat down for about a minute and then got back up. :P

Walked over to a window where the lady asked me basic questions about the paperwork. Nothing to do with the relationship itself. She asked if I brought a 3kg envelope with me or created an account. I had made the account, but I guess that means you can take your own envelope if you want. The first half of the interview was over quick and had to sit back down again.

    Then I broke their clock.

Well, not really. The had reading material so I went up to the slots in the wall and lifted up a magazine, which knocked the clock off the wall. I caught it and put it back up, though. Gave everyone a good laugh I think. :P

Besides the people being interviewed, there were only three other people waiting. They went up before me, then it was my turn. The lady asked me:

    1. Ever lived outside Australia?

    2. Ever been married?

    3. Have kids?

    4. Has you fiancée ever been married or had kids?

    5. What does your fiancée do?

    6. How did you meet your fiancée?

    7. How many times have you been in the U.S.?

    8. What did you do in the U.S.?

That's all I can remember at the moment. Then she said that she believed our relationship was valid and slid me a little white note. Best note that's ever been passed to me. It wasn't at all anticlimatic, though it does seem like it. I was so overwhelmed with joy I didn't know what to do with myself. I just said thank you then packed up and left.

She didn't ask to see evidence of our relationship.

    I guess that's my story!

Oh yeah, the lady said the visa would take 5 days to get to me, the slip says 7. And everyone else has said 2 weeks+. So we'll see. XD

The help and support I received here has been invaluable. It made this horrid process just that little bit less horrid. I am never doing this again. #### you, bureaucracy. Thank you for giving me permission to get married.

(but seriously though I really am appreciative :P)

    Any questions, just shoot.

  7. I already have a copy of my medical, so that's good. I remember the doc telling me something about taking my xrays into the country. I will anyway to be safe.

oh Danneh, don't forget waiting for your visa/passport to arrive in the mail is a hell of a journey too! I don't know if i'm a special case, still nothing almost 2 weeks after the interview

Crikey, I don't want to wait that long. D:

Thanks for the heads up though. I knew some people before me had to wait a while, but I was hoping they'd over that by now. xD

  8. I've been so caught up in this whole K1 process, that I haven't given a single thought to 'what comes next'. I found the guide for AOS on this site, which I intend to follow: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

But is there anything else I need to know?

The xrays I got at the medical, I bring those with me back to the States, right? And after I apply for AOS, I'm allowed to stay in the country while it processes? Any tips or more information you can give me, that would be really helpful. Otherwise, just tell me to follow the guide. Also, tell me I'll be fine. :P

    Thank you.

  9. You're applying for a K1 Fiance Visa, yes? If so, Sydney should have sent your husband/fiancée via email what's called 'Packet 3'. It will detail further steps for your husband/fiancée to take to get his interview date. If he hasn't got that yet he should email the Sydney consulate at sydneyiv@sate.gov for an update on what's going on. Make sure the subject field is the case number (it should look something like SYDxxxxxxxxx) and the message should have his and your details, including full name, birth dates and passport numbers. Then ask your question. I find this earns quick responses (Note they do take several days to reply to emails).

    Hope this helps. :)
