  1. Hello All,

Two weeks ago we received a letter from the Homeland Security which basically states that they have identified our application for AOS as a potential interview waiver case. Quote : "This means that we (homeland security) may not need to interview you to complete your application" I came here on K1 Visa in November 2012 got married and applied for AOS in February 2013.

Have anyone received something like this - from one side we are happy cause at least someone is working on our case but in my opinion this may cause even more delay.

Any opinions are welcomed. Thank you in advance.

  2. Hello there friends it’s been awhile since I last posted here. So I have been here in Florida for almost two weeks already. So far so good. I am slowly getting used to living here although it is my second time in the USA. My POE was Miami – it was not so bad except for the 2 hours wait.

For all of the USA citizens here – please, try to be patient with your foreigner love. For people like me who come from smaller countries most of the things seem quite strange – the heavy traffic, the HUGE bottles of milk /3 or 5 liters/ the toilet paper /HUGE/  etc but the good thing is that everything is cheaper than Europe especially shoes and clothes /yepaaa for TJ Max /

So far my fiancé has added me to his bank account and I already have a debit card /huge mistake from his side  / Next week we will get our marriage license and we plan to get married around Christmas on the beach.

  3. the only problem is that my plane is on 26/11/2012 do you think there is enough time

Call them and let them know ASAP. You will have to send your passport to the embassy and they shall correct Female to Male which required time as they have to prepare and print another visa. Once you recieve your new visa make sure that everything is correct and see if the visa number is the same as the old one bacause maybe it is included in your flight reservation. If the visa has different number and if you provided this information when booking your flight make sure you change the visa number on the reservation.

  5. well after a good cry.. ok while i was crying i called my boss who actually is our 'Wayne County Comsissioner", so he is real close with our two congressmen, but warned me not all congress people get involved in stuff like this, but he called while we talked and one said email him and call back on Monday .. Thanks to Julie Salako, I got hold of a document from the NVC giving instructions to all embassy not to send petiotions back on certain issues, and regulations so my case falls in that category of those new regulations so i copied it and highlighted how she went against these guiedlines, attathced my fiancee statement and sent it to the Lagos embassy and to my congress reps. and my boss. OH my boss (the commissioner) actually meet my fiance during our first meeting in Ghana, because he sponors our annual trips to Ghana to work at our sister school in Ghana, So he said he will write a letter on my be half. I didn't include it the first time because I didn't have a picture of them together. Sorry wasn't thinking. sooo now I guess we just pray and wait. Please don't forget me and continue to give me any suggestion of help..

Good luck and God's Favor to us all.. Gowon you know I'm praying hard for you and your queen :)

    Peace ,

    Chi

Good job  Can you please explain what are these categories ? This is very interesting and maybe the vj members will be interested to know them :innocent:

  6. Good news: Today is mine and my fiancees one year anniversary of our first date!! (L)

Better News: Our attorney cc:'d us on an email asking the Embassy for an interview as soon as possible. Not sure if that will help, but I am leaving to go back to the US in 10 days and would love for him to come with me. Not holding my breath though.

Bad News: The DF-156K requests "Evidence of Engagement to your finance". Umm...this is a problem for us. We have both been married before and our in our 40's. An engagement and wedding are all ceremonial as far as we are concerned. We just want to get married. We will purchase rings when he gets to the US but right now....proof?...not sure if I have any other than a year of waiting for an I-129F to be approved! You would think that would be enough. (Waiting on the attorney to answer my email about this now)

Any suggestions from my VisaJourney family? Signed document by family and friends maybe? My Facebook status change? LOL You know it is official if it is on FaceBook!

Pam (F) Happy anniversary (L) (L) (L) old emails, your boarding pass for the visit in Macedonia, old emails, recent photos shall be enough even more you are there with him
