  1. Hi

We are planning on including photos in our I-751 packet. How many are everyone including. And do we need to write in the back of the photos who everyone in the photos is and date and place of photos. Also if my husband is the one removing the conditions on the residence is he the "petitioner", what is his title " ". And also what would my title be, if we were labeling the photos  ?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Thank you everyone for your response

During our interview we mentioned the fact that my husbands passport shows his name and date of birth...he mentioned that doesnt count....also should I submit the actual affidavits or should i submit only copies to them initially. Also calOC you mentioned a notarized copy of highschool certificate...we have the original with us in the US...so how would we go about getting a notarized copy? Thanks for your help

  3. Hi everyone I could really use all the VJ'ers help please

A little background about the case: Our interview for AOS was at the end of March and that time we answered all the questions and everything seemed to be running smoothly;however our officer did notapproved or deny us. Two months later we still hadn't heard anything so we made an infopass appointment last week and at that time they said they would mail us something in 30 days.

Present day:Today we received an intent to deny our AOS because basically the birth certificate we submitted for my husband doesn’t have his name on it and they require one with a name on it....but the thing is in India where my husband was born when you are first born they don’t give out names for the baby and so they issue a birth certificate without a name...we explained this to our interviewing officer...at that time he said nothing.

In the letter we received today it stated that we need to either show secondary evidence or "affidavits from persons who are not parties to the petition"-what exactly does this phrase mean and if we fail to show this evidence our application will be denied. Now my quesiton to everyone is has anyone else experienced this and if so how did they go about doing this and if the affidavits we send or not to our liking will they definitely deny us.

What exactly is secondary evidence? It says to submit the evidence in 30 days but it doesn’t say to where....do they mean the district office where we had the interview. I would feel more comfortable if I could submit it to them in person like at an infopass appointment is that even possible? Also if we do send affidavits or secondary evidence do we send originals or copies the letter dont say. Also who should the affidavit come from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because we are freaking out right now!!! Thanks everyone.

  4. Hi

When calling the misinformation line it says the information the recording says is the most upto date information they have and that the operators dont know anything else....so then when I end up talking to a live operator.....what should I ask them about the status of my case. Do they ever say any additional information besides what the operator says.

    thanks guys

  5. Ok guys adding something else here :).....sorry I am losing my mind here.

When we went for biometrics they said after looking at the paper that the interviewing officer gave us they would only be taking a photo...so I am wondering how long does it take to approve a photo?

The people at the biometrics said that fingerprints were not needed that they were already taken. .... but what I dont understand is that in Decemeber they took our biometrics for both 765 and 485 and in fact they also took his photo then too.....so i dont know what is going....has anyone else seen this exact words on their case status update. thanks

  6. thanks for your reply

I was so worried about the case status that I didnt even put any relevant info ..... sorry about that guys.

This is for the I-485 and we had our interview last week and during that time he told us that our record didnt show any biometrics done even though we did biometrics almost four months ago in December. So we went ahead and did biometrics yesterday and then today we got this case status update. Any advice? Thanks :)

  7. Hi everyone

I checked my case status update this morning on the USCIS website and it changed and said this "An interview was conducted in this case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete."

Has anyone seen this before.....and what do you think it means.....I am starting to get real worried.....will they deny our application.

Thanks to anyone with ANY input

  8. Hi this is a question to all those tax experts or accountants here at visajourney.

Here is my situtation my husband came to the US last year on a K1 visa and he has received his EAD and AP and are interview for the AOS is the end of this month. He hasn't started working yet and we are only living of my income.

So concerning filing my taxes for this april....how should I file them....like i normally did while I was single, only know I am married filing jointly or do I count him as my dependent? Is there anything different I should do this time. Sorry if this question seems silly or stupid....but when it comes to taxes I am a complete dummy. ..... :P Thanks for your help guys.

  9. Hi everyone

My husband entered the US on a K1 visa and our interview is scheduled for the end of this month. We are living with my parents right now to save money and because of that we have not lease, utility bills, or rental insurance in both our names.

My question to all the VJers out there is I want to write a letter and have my parents sign in stating that we live in their house and thats why we dont have the appropriate documents....but somehow I am at a loss on how to ACTUALLY write the letter. Please any advice on how to format the letter so that it sound professional would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

  10. HI everyone

Tax deadline is soon approaching and I am trying to file my taxes for my husband and myself. Normally I would not have any problems with my taxes but this tax year with the inclusion of my husband things have gotten a little bit more complex :) So I was wondering if anyone out there could suggest some good forums (kind of like this one) where I could post tax questions and where they talk about how to do taxes for a foreign spouse. Any tips or guidelines that fellow VJ'ers have experienced would also be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for all your help.
