Unfortunately, my mom did not get her visa due to overstay. We were told to contact them next year, her ban will be up, and they would reopen the case. Does anyone know what that means? They said we won't have to re-file. I am confused because the documents and fees will expire after a year.
If someone knows about this, can you please shed some light?

My mother has her interview set for next month. She had an issue where she overstayed in the past. It was years ago before I was born.
The fact that we reached this stage, would that affect her? I mean they have done the background check and everything.

Has anyone had this problem? How did it affect your AOS?
A USC is filing for mother, but the mother can't locate I-94. Her passport shows that she entered legally. It has been years of course. How will she go about this?

I filed for my Mom, IR-5. My step-dad has decided to proceed with a divorce.
I just want to make sure that this won't affect anything since she is not getting her GC based on him. The only thing I can think of is if the divorce is finalized before the interview, she will have to take documentation.
Thanks,

I petitioned for my parent and we are working on the DS-230. The question about who is traveling with you, can she put her spouse (my step parent)? Will she have to do a form for him? How does the process work? I am hearing different responses.
Thanks,

Trying to see if anyone can assist with this. I found out I will have to pay the fees and update financial information. I'm just wondering if we will still have problems after a denial.
