I thought I couldn't file anyways because I was not on a payroll ... Until last year..

Irs website told me for every year that I did not have to file.
This year it's if you're under 65, married filing jointly, $19000, last year I believe $18500

I'm the petitioner for my wife's AOS.
My father will be cosponsor.
My question:
I was not required to file taxes the past 3 years as I did not make enough $ when filing married jointly.
The thing is that I have only been on my employers payroll for the past year, (have worked for him for years) I have made the same amount of money for years though.. So I was not required to file..
Is this a problem ?
