My husband is an Australian Citizen and US Green Card holder. He had to fly to Australia 10 days ago and he came back into the US yesterday. He had absolutely no problems getting through customs at LAX airport. My husband said they asked him for his passport, permanent residency card and how long he was in Australia...He got right through with no problems at all. He also took a copy of his social security card (Just in Case).  We also made copies of his passport, permanent residency card and social security card to play it safe just in case something happen to his documents. Hope that helps!

P.s. This was not his first trip back home since he got the permanent residency. He has made two trips to Australia by himself and two trips with me. So, four trips in all since he got his permanent residency card and no problems getting through customs with any of the trips.

Hi, thanks for the tip. I looked at the link you posted and it looks like others have done the same.

Although the example form for the I-131 does have a specific date.

It would make me feel better about submitting the form with 'to be determined' in the date field if other people can confirm that is what they did and they were successful without delays in processing due to this.

Can anyone please help me. I am a K1 visa holder, and have married, and have a SSN. Now I am filing my I485 Adjustment of status along with my I765 employment authorisation, but I don't know what to put on my advanced parole form for my intended date of travel. I am just starting the process of selling my house back in Australia so I May have to go over there at some point in the next 3-6 months, but at this point have no set plans. I do, however, intend to travel in December of 2013! My question is Do I need specific travel plans (and dates) to apply for the I131? and does it matter if I just put a random date in? (say in 3 months from now) It looks like I need a whole bunch of evidence for why I need to travel just to apply.
