charlie471963 got a reaction from Leatherneck in how do I get my to be 24 year old daugter to the usa
well she is 22 years old is working on her masters and has a ba in human ecology , she has never left home and is completely dependent on her mom for support . anyone that knows the philippines knows its not easy to get by when your healthy and have been working half your life over there never mind 22 and just starting out and have never held a job not to mention the only family you have wont be around to let you cry on there shoulder when needed .
we were working on a school visa in hopes that she could continue her schooling and maybe put herself in a better position to obtain a b1 . but when i began to read what was written on the us embassy web site under applications f1 visa about how if you should apply for a student visa and your family member has just immirgrated they wont allow you to go because they are afraid you will never come back
my idea was to put in a i130 and let the clock start ticking and then get her into school after some time she could get a few years older and handle herself abit better and she would be that much more educated even if she were to go back to the philippines by then at least she could handle herself and if she were lucky maybe even get a job and a b1 during that time
and if nothing else she would close the gap on the wait time
