  2. PLEASE REPLY! OK SO I GAVE BIRTH LAST NOV 2012 AND AFTER SEVEN MONTHS OF WAITING I WILL NOW HAVE MY INTERVIEW FOR K1 VISA ON JULYY 30. SO MY PRONLEM WAS THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE WILL BE FILED AROUND THIS WEEK UNDER LATE REGSTRATION BECAUSE MY FIANCE SEND IT TO ME JUST HE HAD TO SIGNED IT. AND CITY HALL SAID IT WILL TAKE 11 DAYS FOR THE PROCESSING AND THEN THATS THE TIME THEY WILL FOWARD IT TO NSO. I WAS JUST THINKING LIKE CAN I REQUEST FOR EXPEDITE THEY SAID IT WILL TAKE TWO MONTHS BEFORE THEY RELEASE TRUE COPY OF BIRTH CERT, ITS KINDA HASSLE BECUASE ONCE I GET APPROVED FOR K1 I WILL STILL WAIT UNTIL I CAN HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR CRBA.. UGH

hi I know your pain. I've been there and my case is worse! I already had my k1 visa when I started the crba it means I only have 2 months to accomplish it because my visa will expire. And Quezon City hall don't expedite the process. but good thing I was still working in the government that time so I used connections and will power and a lot of prayers. what city hall did u file the bc? just try to talk to the registrar and ask if u can forward it by yourself in nso. there is an nso office in quezon avenue that process expedited cases. good luck!

  3. magka iba ang case ng visa and crba. kahit wala pang visa ang d us citizen na parent they don't care basta na prove mo Lang na ang baby ay anak ng us citizen. kasi Nung nag crba ako sa baby ko may k1 na ko at malapit na na expire they didn't care. buti na Lang talaga umabot na makuha ko yung crba at us passport ng baby ko at naka Alis kami a day before mag expire visa ko. sobrang nakaka stress nun!

  4. Hi I want to share my experience during the application of CRBA and US Passport for my new born baby. I received them via Air21 15 days after our interview, just last Friday. I am a K1 visa holder too and my visa will expire on Aug. 10 I guess u have an idea now how stressful to me the whole process since I gave birth last May 26, 5 days after my K1 interview at USEM. I had a rough process of getting the NSO copy of the bc because Quezon City LCR doesnt give advance endorsement. To make the story short, I had an interview last July 11 for CRBA but the Filipino screener didn't allow me to push through with the process because I have an incomplete requirements so I have to set another interview date and that was July 19. I finally got my baby's NSO copy of her BC July 18 at 6 pm after I poured a lot of tears in front of the LCR and NSO officials.

When it's my turn to talk with the CO, he thanked me first for having the most organized documents among all the applicants that day. Thank you for the Filipino screener who gave me tips on how to organize it. What I did is I arranged the pictures as proof of relationship and conception in chronological order. I put tab and labeled it. Example: ( 1st tab) 1st meeting April 29. - May 2, 2011 at South Korea. It includes my passport stamps and pictures together. (2nd tab) 2nd meeting... (3rd tab ) 3rd meeting... (4th tab) Proof of conception. It includes pregnancy test result and 1st ultrasound... (5th tab) 4th meeting... (6th tab) Proof of conception. Same thing ultrasound pictures..So on and so forth. Then 1 tab for western union receipts and 1 tab for emails. The Filipino screener told me that they only need to see the passport stamps, pictures together, western union receipts and ultrasound pictures. I binded them but I didn't not use any folder just simple clip is enough, the Filipino screener advised it too.

The CO liked what I did and didn't ask many questions. He approved it immediately.

I hope this will help future CRBA applicants.

  5. That was also our problem. When he sent me $2000 for our plane tickets from WU online to my bank i only got $1948. $52 diffrence is alot! But the WU Agent here in PI advised me to tell my fiance not to send money in WU online or straight to my bank because WU has a very low exchange rate. So what he does until now is he goes to WU agent then send money and advise them that i should get it in $ not in Peso. Do the same.

  6. I am a full time government employee (permanent position).. I can resign Or leave my work w/o resigning anytime i want. They will not put me in jail! Just tell your fiancee not to get a job with contract. Simple!

  7. After all the DIY success I have had in the immigration process, I wanted to jump to the next level. My step daughter asked me to adopt her as she is the only one with a different last name. She just turned 16, and I was so honored that she asked me to go forward with it.

Every attorney in the local area wanted around $4000 for their expertise. I said why not try to do it ourselves, how much harder than immigration paperwork can it be. Well we studied the laws on step child adoption, researched the necessary forms and procedures, and went to work. We thought we were pretty thorough so we took our package to the county court house and filed. The filing fee was $205, and the clerk said she had never seen anyone try an adoption without an attorney. She also said that if the Judge rejected our forms that our filing fee would not be refunded.

We waited almost a month and nothing from the court, (I thought we had messed up big time). While in California on business two weeks ago, I got an email from my step daughter saying that we had gotten a letter from the court, and attached a scanned copy.

The letter basically had two provisions. First, on August 20th, my step daughter and wife have to meet the judge to discuss the adoption, (and to make sure it is what they want). Secondly, my step daughter must affirm (sign), in the presence of the court, a document that states that she wants to be adopted. This is a requirement in Georgia for any child over 14. My step daughter just turned 16.

Second paragraph of the letter says that all of us must be in court on September 6th to finalize the adoption. What is neat is that he waived the publication order, and the home study order, thus saving a bunch of time.

As soon as the adoption is final, she becomes a US citizen and can apply for her passport under the Child Citizenship Act.

Poor mom, she will have to remove conditions alone, and her daughter will beat her to Citizenship by over a year.

    I am stoked.

Did u do the adoption before starting the AOS process?

I will have the same issue too since i will go to US as K1 and my eldest daughter as K2. My fiance wants to adopt her so she can use his surname too.

Please guide me with the process.

    1. Did u go straight to the court?

    2. what documents did u bring and filled up?

    3. how much is the total cost of the whole process?

4.How long is the entire process until the final judgement?

    thank you in advance.

  8. Finally after all the challenges i faced since the k1/k2 process to the CRBA process of my new baby, the phase 1 of my journey was ended yesterday. We are leaving on Aug. 9 and our POE is in Honolulu, Hawaii. I am just waiting for my baby's US Passport to be delivered hopefully on Aug. 2 and everything else are ready. Thank you to all who helped me and guide me in the CRBA process. I owe u guys!good.gif

  9. Does anyone know somebody from Quezon City Local Civil Registry Office who can help me to expedite the process of registration and able to get for me the transmittal/ advance endorsement for NSO?

My baby's appointment at USEM for CRBA and US Passport is on June 29. As you know the #1 requirement is the NSO COPY of her BC. I only have less than 3 weeks to get it but unfortunately Q.C. LCR said they process it in 1 month :( I'm losing hope now.

I hope somebody can help me.

  10. I already did a lot of research and there's no one says"WHERE" to pay the fees. I know how much the fees already. It doesn't say there too how much is the courier fee within Manila. I hope somebody who had experience the CRBA process to reply here and share their experience specially "Where to pay the fees and if u need to pay in $. or in Peso".

  11. Thank you For all your replies. It is very helpful indeed! My appointment is June 29, I just hope by then I already have the NSO copy of my baby's BC. My fiancé just sent it back to me today and it Will take me 3-5 days to receive it. My new questions now are: 1) where will I pay the CRBA and us passport fees? 2) do I need to pay in $ or in Peso?3) how much is the courrier fee?

  12. Hi VJers!

Update with my K1/K2 visa: i'm still waiting for 2Go's text message if it's ready for pick up.

And another update: Finally i gave birth to a 7.7 lbs baby girl last May 26. I'm looking for people who did CRBA and US Passport recently. Please guide me.

Yesterday i sent the BC of my baby to her dad in Hawaii thru FedEx for him to sign together with the CRBA forms he needs to sign and notarize too. I read somewhere in the instructions on the forms that handwritten is not accepted. But i can't type some infos in some forms specially in the Passport form. What should i do?

  13. Congrats to you! God is good. Mine is due in May 28..do whisper a prayer for me that it will turn out negative as well. Good luck on the rest of your journey!

Thanks and yea ill pray for u.

Btw, if u want to stop worrying about the result i have a tip for you. Start calling them on the 7th week. if u dont have result by then, call them everyday til it reaches your 8th week. On the 8th week u will know if there is a result already and it will take only a day for them to process it.

If they say on the 8th week u have a result but they are still processing it, call the following day for sure it's negative! kicking.gif
