  1. Hi everybody, I have a situation and I don't know what to do. May be anyone who has been through the same experience can share with me.

I'm filing the paperworks for my mother to come live with me as a permanent resident (I'm a naturalized US citizen). I have to indicate on the form if she is married or single. She has been "traditionnaly" married with my father for 30 years but they don't have any official paper proving that in my knowledge.so I was about to put single on the form and just to make sure I asked her but she told me the contrary. That they did sign a marriage paper the day of the traditionnal ceremony and that my uncle is in possession of the document.

I called my uncle,it turned out that it wasn't a marriage paper but just some kind of receipt showing how much money was paid for her dowry. Now I don't know what box to check.if I check single, at the interview at the embassy when they ask her if she is married I'm pretty sure she will say yes. Because in her mind she is married. If I check married, and the mariage certificate is requested, there is none.So I don't know what to do now.

Anyone has any suggestion about that?

    Thank you in advance!

  2. well, I filed for police report lost and gonna start preparing the documents, bring back 7 months ago.

I have a question, my green card came with my middle name that I have in my birth certificate instead of my maiden last name I took as middle name after my marriage. when my green card got lost I was thinking of sending it back for replacement to match the name on the SSN and some other documents . is anybody has have that issue before?

  3. Hi everybody, i'm writing this with a lot of frustration. I can't believe this is happening to me, usually so careful.

I lost my condition green card today. I just received it a couple of days I didn't even have a copy of that; now I don't know what to do. Is anybody has been trought this situation? If I have to refill for a new one, do I have to resubmit all the initial documents I submitted when applying for the AOS? or what kind of documents do I need to send for a replacement of conditional green card?

    Thank you everybody!

  4. My wife and I are in the same situation. She had her biometrics Feb 21, got the EAD/AP card almost a week ago, but still no word of an interview. Case status does not show up on the USCIS site. We are beginning to think that we may not be getting an interview and might have to wait a bit longer than those that do.

Hi Starflyer59, at least your wife got her EAD/AP, I got nothing and heard nothing since my biometrics in feb 4th.

    bonne chance!

  6. Hi kori, when you had your medical exam in cameroon, the doctor gave you an enveloppe, with Xray and a vaccination supplement sheet. if you still have it take it to a doctor for a transcript, some people just send the paper sheet alone, when your medical exams is less than one year it's ok for k1 visa; you don't need to go to a doctor for the transcript.
