Also had my biometrics done. The ASC asked for my appointment letter, passport as ID and guess what a copy of my marriage certificate which just so happened that my husband brought along with us. So I was relieved that my darling husband was well prepared than I was or else we will have to be going back to the house to pick it up. That would be hassle especially if you live far away.

For the others who will have their biometrics please bring along a copy of your marriage certificate.

Hi. I'd like to let u know that your not alone having those feelings. And I agree with the poster above that make sure you share what your going through right now with your husband. I have been here in the states for a month. I am basically dependent on my husband for the moment. I want to do some part time voluntering but not possible because I don't even know how to drive. My husband leaves at 5 in the morning for work then comes home at 4pm. I am stuck home all day. I m terrified of going out alone even on daytime maybe because I'm not used to empty streets (we live 15 min away from the city). Back in my home country the streets are busy with cars and people. I am basically still adjusting here. trying to settle in America.

Also about the SSS ID, oh my. I'd like to let you know that it takes more than 2 months to get one. I applied for SSS ID last September 2011 and received my SSS ID by registered mail only last August this year

Early this year when I applied for my passport I only had a Postal ID and no other sort of identification. And it sucks that the DFA didn't accept my postal ID so what they suggested is to bring original copies of the following: my college transcript of records from my two degrees, COMELEC voter's certificate, Philhealth members data and NBI clearance as my identification. By the way it would be good if you tell the DFA that you don;t have other ID or something so that they will advise you on what to do. That's what I did and got my expedited passport after 1 month. my point of entry was Guam Customs in hawaii! but left by the plane in Hawaii. hehe

so my flight became MNL-GUM-HNL-LAX-ORD! longest flght ever! I think I dont want to ride an airplane anytime soon ?

In the petition we excluded the chats were we fought, anything pg rated or something LOL.. It would be best if you print out the chat logs where you professed your love for each other. It worked for us. When I went for my interview I brought more chat logs and screen shots but the Consular didn't even bother to look at it.

Guam will be POE, but customs will most likely be in Chicago. We had POE/Immigration at Guam then Customs in Honolulu where we had to pick up our bags and recheck them in Hawaii, not sure what your procedure will be for Chicago. I would assume it would be similar to Hawaii since you will be changing from International flight to Domestic.

Customs all depends on how you transit through Guam. If you retrieve your checked bag or leave the airport terminal, you will need to go through Guam Customs. All passengers will pass US Immigrations. The United flight from Manila arrives around 4:30 AM. The flight to Houston (via Honolulu) departs aroud 6:30 AM. There's also an option to connect to other destinations via Tokyo after Guam. A couple of Tokyo flights from Guam, but the closest would be one that departs around 7:00 AM. Hope this helps.

I am not leaving the Guam airport terminal so I guess no customs check for me. Is the Guam Airport less busier at 4:30 in the morning?

what airline flies Guam to Chicago? I believe Delta goes MSP and DTW ( detroit) from Manila. United you would stop HNL but get back on to continue to Chicago unless changing planes to other destination.

I can tell you that for US passports, the policy is to list the place of birth with the current place name. So, even if someone was born in the USSR it will now say Ukraine or whatever. I don't think your situation will be a problem, because the people at the embassy should know that place names can shift. I don't think you need to do anything, but if you want you can explain in a letter. Hopefully someone with PI-specific knowledge will come along. Good luck.
