  1. Hi again dagnylet,

Earlier this week, we received an email response to our service request. Here's part of it:

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding an appointment to have your biometric images processed at an Application Support Center (ASC). We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process. Please know that your name has been electronically added to the appointment scheduler. You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you."

So, there's our answer... just need to wait... Hopefully, you'll get word sometime soon! :)

That is good to hear. I hope we hear from them soon! :)

  2. Hi dagnylet,

We have the same NOA date as you and haven't received our biometrics appointment either! We called USCIS as soon as we passed 30 days from our NOA and made a service request. It's been a couple weeks since then and still no word. When we hit 2 months, I think we'll try to make an infopass appointment (as KASH2011 recommended). Wish we knew what was going on!!

    Hi jenyadenise,

I called the uscis earlier and they made a service request. I will follow your lead if I don't hear from them again in 30 days but I am hoping that they will take an action before that. I am now worried that there might be something wrong with my papers.

  3. The ex-wife has the right to request for your husband's financial reports. She can ask for more child support if she thinks your husband makes a lot more money. The initial child support was based on the difference between their incomes at the time divorce was filed. Your husband should be conscious on how to "shield" his money from the ex-wife.

I learned about this from my fiance since he has two divorces and three kids. :hehe:

Thank you for your great idea! I will now search on how to help him "shield" his money from his ex specially the net income definition on child support law is vague. A accountant-lawyer's help is greatly appreciated :)

  4. Let your husband handdle it. I'm sure the court will not going to grant her demands of addional child support if she doesn't desserve to get it. The ex-wife will never go away until the children is 18 or when they are done in college. Thank goodness I survived those years .

Thanks! Yes he is basically handling the majority of the case. Aside from what's at hand solutions, I just want to extend my help and see if there are other options to handle the situation.

His divorce degree should have spelled out his LEGAL obligations. Anything over and above are his choices. Unless she goes back to court and requests for more support he does not need to give it.

    Thank you for your input.

  5. Hi Guys,

I don't know whom to ask about this so your general opinion is highly appreciated. Me and my husband got married last Sept. 2012 and I am now living with him in Illinois. He has kids with his first marriage which I adore a lot. The challenge is the ex. She got so many issues in her life but her current drama is asking more child support from my husband. Before my husband submits to her demands, I voluntered to do a little research on its legalities and what could be his possible other options.

My husband is giving her child support monthly on top of paying for all the kids expenses. The kids are with us most of the time, if not, they are with a babysitter. From what we heard from the kids, they go to babysitters when it's the ex time to look after the kids. The question now is, does she have a legal basis under Illinois law to ask for more child support even if my husband is already paying for all the kids' expenses?

Thank you guys for your comments.

  6. 1) From Part 2a, a reentry permit is only for permanent residents (who travel out of the US for more than a year). You are not one yet, and what you want is a temporary travel document while your AOS (permanent residency) application will be processed. This document is an Advance Parole (AP).

    2) Put Unknown to both.

    3) The I-131 and I-765 fees are waived when you file those applications with your AOS one. Total for AOS+EAD+AP is $1,070 (=cost of the AOS application).

Thank you again for your help. For some reason these type of questions the USCIS customer representatives don't want to give answers. :)

  7. Hi Everyone,

I need help on filling up the I-131 form. When I called the USCIS the other day, the representative told me that I can file it together with the I-485 form. Here are my questions:

    1. What is the difference of Advance Parole and Re-entry permit?

    2. What will I put on the question "date of intended departure" and "expected length of trip"? I don't have a plan of leaving the country as of this

    time.

    3. Do I have to pay the fee if I file I-131 separately?

    Thank you in advance!

  8. I am the yet to take my CFO seminar. I understand your points but reality check here is that they are the ones in authority. Whether they are wrong or not does not matter. And if we filipinos try to question them, there will be a harsh consequence for us... at the end of the seminar, they coould choose not to give a stamp, which means we cannot leave the country.

  9. You will do the sputum test if they tell you to based on what they see on an X-ray. If they told you to come back on Monday for your shots, then you are probably ok.

Thank you for your inputs. I just want to get these things done, do my interview and CFO thingy and be with my fiance.

  10. Hi,

I am done with my first day of medical exam at St. Lukes last friday and they instructed me to do my immunization on Monday. Can anybody help me understand the process or the medical exam? I am confused because I am not sure if I need to do to the sputum test or not and how will I know if I have to do that or not too.

  11. I called the US Embassy to confirm if I can schedule my medical exam and interview but they advised me not to do any schedules since they don't have the physical documents yet. Is there anyone who scheduled their medical exam and interview even if the physical documents are not yet with the US Embassy?

  12. Do you mean that even if a person has already been in the US for several times and even stayed there for 6 months, he/she still need to undergo the CFO seminar? What else he/she can learn from the seminar if he/she has been in the US several times?
