  1. I am also very disillusioned. They are rendering decisions based on profiling and pure discrimination in my opinion. I think they have a good idea right after the interview if they will approve or not. They are punishing people by making them wait. They want people to give up. They sent my case back after 3.5 years saying it expired. That link said my Visa was Issued which they confirmed was false. I am sure they sleep at night thinking they have saved humanity from one less failed marriage or fraud. I find it particularly funny that they don't think you will have a lasting marriage. What about all the US citizens that are divorced? There are no guarantees. Why didn't someone stop them before they married and say they had a gut feeling it would not last anyway. I feel deceived and mislead by this Visa process. Just call me Bitter Betty! I sent a letter to the US Embassy in Islamabad asking them exactly what evidence they would accept that proved a relationship if: 9 affidavits, 5 visits, pictures, phone bills, wedding deposits etc., did not do it. I never got a response.

  2. I went to that link and found this message about my particular case. They would not grant us a visa and they used the excuse that my case expired after 3.5 years of processing. No one I contacted including the USCIS, a Lawyer and a Senator were able or willing to do anything. My only option is to start completely over and hope for better the next time. So the message I found at that site makes no sense and is very misleading.

Immigrant Visa Case Number: XXXXXXXXX 01 ISL

    Case Creation Date: n/a

    Response Date: 20-Jul-2012

Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted.

  3. Thanks guys, i would like to share with you all that I am the most senior AP member since last 4 years first AP for K1 then AP for IR1/CR1. By the grace of Allah I have come out successfully.

I will pray for you all hang in there and keep praying Allah.

Congrats. I will most likely have to do the same thing. I have already wasted 3.5 years on a K1 for them to use the excuse it Expired. That is bureaucracy at it's finest and it was unjust and grossly unfair. I have contacted a Lawyer who has submitted a request via Legalnet.com for them to investigate. Additionally I am seeking the help of the Senator. I have little faith that either will be successful at persuading the ISL Consulate to reconsider. This means starting over with a K1 or getting married and hope they approve that. I believe I have seen some examples on here where even though they married they were still denied. I wanted to get married in the US so my family and friends could attend but I guess that is out of the question now. And I just want to say that what they are making the EAbbas family go through is criminal and I am sorry for that and I pray for you every day.

  4. After 3.5 years the DOS returned our case to the USCIS because it expired. It truly expired 3 years go because they are only valid for 4 months which is nonsense in the first place. From what I can read this is what happens when there is no real evidence to deny but no one really wants to say yes and grant the visa. Most likely I will have to start over. I did find reference to a Class Action Suit for just this kind of thing which I will be looking into.

It is just inhumane to do this after all this time and processing.

  5. It will be one year as of May 21st that we have been in AP. Sadly, we started this process in September of 2009 and have been in some phase of processing until AP truly started last year. I read these threads regularly so that I don't feel like the only one suffering. I cry a lot and completely understand everyone's pain and frustration. I don't think there is any one or any thing that will be able to help. It is just inhumane to have no real communications while going through this. I have tried every avenue available and I get nowhere and no response. I call DOS like everyone else and they acknowledge it was touched and that is it. Needless to say I am depressed. Bless his heart, my fiance remains hopeful! That is why I love him so much.
