  1. Hi,

I think my case is similar to your case. I would like to share with you. My husband's dad is my joint sponsor. He's self employed. I sent his birth certificate, Tax return 2010, tax transcript 2010, W2s 2010, form 1120s 2010-us income tax return for an S corporation with my AOS package. My husband only did I-864, no tax doc or explain letter provided. I didnt have any RFE. I came to the interview with Tax return 2011, W-2s 2011, 1120S 2011, they asked and took all of them at the interview. Hope this could help. Good luck to you

  2. Hi guys,

I had a successful AOS interview today. It was taken place in downtown LA. It was such a loooooong interview I have ever had. It took about 1 hour. He asked us a bunch of questions like: how many bed rooms in your house ? do u guys get along together? 100% get along together? They asked my husband lots of questions which are: what's your wife's parents name? do they like you? why do they like you? what do they like about you..........................he was like spinning us around with questions after questions. Sorry i don't have time to type them down now because i'm packaging my stuff to leave the US in 8 hours. Ahh We don't wear wedding ring and he didn't question us about that. I was approved right after the interview.

I thought that if i am approved at the spot, they will stamp I-551 so i can leave right after the interview. BUT the interviewer told me that they stopped doing that years ago. Then I told him i already bought my tickets and i couldn't return them. He understood that and he said he would try to help me out but he wasn't sure about that. I was lucky today, 30 mins later he got back with my PP and stamp I-551 inside. He said normally they don't stamp that... Cant ask for more.

Thanks VJ's members a lot and good luck with your AOS journey

  3. Hi everyone,

This may be the last time I need your help because i'm reaching the final step, AOS interview which is coming up next month, 25th April. I received a mail of USCIS yesterday and there are lots of issues which needed to be solved by you guys, I cannot handle them by myself helpsmilie.gif:

    1) A completed Affidavit of Support( I-864) with all required evidences..... Tax returns, W2-s for the most recent year, ..(unless already submitted) --> I submitted I-864 of my husband and my co-sponsor for 2010, I didn't submit my husband's tax returns or explanation letter but they still approved my EAD/AP within 60 days and no RFE..... So what should I bring to the interview? Do i have to obtain tax returns of my co-sponsor for 2011? He hasn't filed for it yet

    2) Letters from each current employer, verifying current rate of pay and average weekly hours, and pay stubs for the past 2 months -> my co-sponsor is self-employed, he doesn't have those docs . What should I do in this situation?

    3) Im gonna book airplane ticket to leave the US right after the interview -> am I safe to leave right after the interview ? Do I have to wait until I receive GC in hand? I already got AP 12 days ago.

Thanks you guys so much star_smile.gif

  4. Hi everyone,

I received combo card AP/working permit 3 days ago, exact 60 days since I sent my AOS. I'm considering about going back to my country for 1 month. But my concern is How much longer 'til my GC interview, USCIS haven't sent interview letter yet. If the interview is taken place by the time i'm still in Vietnam, I have to reschedule. I don't want to do that. What should I do now?

  5. My husband didn't earn enough so i have my father in-law as co-sponsor. Although my co sponsor filled out the form I-864 and submitted his tax document, my husband still has to submit his tax document and I-864. But the thing is he didn't have tax document (his income below $7,000) and he had to write a letter to explain. He didn't do that and i sent my AOS package without it. I was nervous and thought that they would send me a RFE. I sent the package on 11th Jan, it got there on 13th. They sent emails and messages to my phone to notify.

I was waiting for RFE but yesterday i checked my case status on USCIS website and it showed that they approved my Advance parole control on the 6th Mar, working permit on 12th Mar and i will receive the card in 7 days. I woke up this morning and the card is in my mail box. Its a combo card, both AP and working permit. Im still worried about my green card, no information about interview appointment yet. My co-sponsor only sent my his tax return 2010, and my husband didn't have tax doc or explanation letter. Why did they still approve my AP and working permit without those lacking document? do they proceed those applications at different places?

  6. I sent my AOS package to Chicago Lockbox P.O. Box 805887, Chicago, IL 60680-4120 on 11th Jan 2012 but i forgot to write down the nature of submission (applying for green card) on the envelope. Sender: my name and my address, that's it.

tracking number status says its delivered on 13th but i'm worried about my mistake, would my package get lost? is anyone there who has the same situation? sad.gif
