OK, I went ahead and called USCIS at 1-800-375-5283. I was kind of surprised how easy it was to reach an operator. After she asked for my case/receipt number multiple times she went on to say that the Vermont Center is currently backed up and working on June cases. So she advised to wait another 30 days and to call them again if the status still does not update by then. At which time they do a service request I think was the phrase she used. So it looks like more waiting for now....but hopefully not much longer. Good luck everyone!

So our NOA1 has a receipt date of 07/21 and 6 months passed on 01/21. Nothing has come in the mail nor case update online. What would be the appropriate timeframe to call and inquire about our case? Which number should I dial?
I aso see that per our ongoing chart most of the Vermont cases have not been processed either...

IMO, it was beneficial. Let HSI determine if what you reported rises to the level of them conducting an investigation. (If at all)
See something, say something. It's your concern what your motivation for reporting it to HSI is.
Regards
Thanks for replying Torete. I am truly hoping that by informing ICE of an individual that is planning on doing this they would mark their name as a 'red flag' on their system so when the person actually does their POE interview they will heavily question them more than usual to confess their plan and send them back to their country. Of course I do not know the immigration system nor procedures so that is why I posed the question out here to see if anyone has used the tipline and seen any results.

As promised, I used the tipline to report a person who holds a tourist visa in their hands. This person plans to enter the US with their tourist visa solely to marry someone (unaware if person is resident or citizen) here and remain in the US to later file for Adjustment of Status. I always understood this action as being a violation of the tourist visa. I would like to hear from everyone if this was beneficial or a waste of time.

Reporting a crime or suspicion of one is responsible & patriotic
however doing it for monetary gains or a U visa is not likely....that's
why the sites says there is no updates...You see something call and
say something, they then take it from there, if ever you are needed you
MAY be contacted.....Unless you are giving them some big fish & you
are part of the organization, benefiting the caller is almost nil, just patriotic
Thanks for your input Jawaree. I agree with reporting suspicious activity but not for monetary gain. I will explain my scenario below

This country's law is based on evidences, they don't just investigate something they read about on website. They don't have time, money or manpower to go investigate some tips from any individual. They might pay attention if the tip are from a lot of persons.
Thanks for your input Nancy. I definitely understand what you are saying but I really hope it's not true. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a tipline in the first place if no action will take place unless hundreds or thousands of reports are submitted. I will explain my scenario below.

Hello everyone!
I was just curious if anybody has ever reported suspicious people or activity to this website: http://www.ice.gov/webform/hsi-tip-form (or called their Tip Line)?
If so, did you become aware of the fraud reported being successfully prevented or some sort of action taking place?
I know this is a bit of a stretch to find out since the website clearly states no updates are given but thought I would ask anyway.
Thank you.

Well, I just checked the USCIS Processing Time for VSC updated on 12/11 and the I-751 has gone back to the normal 6 Months Processing Timeframe. Our particular petition did not transfer to CSC so per this latest update I expect our petition to be approved around January 21 (my wife's birthday lol) a little over a month from now. I would like to wish everybody happy and safe holidays! Looking for that 2015 (or sooner) approval!
-
My VJ friend (GoingCrazy2012) who filed their I-751 back in March with NOA1 date of 03/24 was just approved on 09/16 at VSC yet under the Processing Times tab it is currently showing February 20 for VSC.
-
VJName..............Date of I-751...NOA1 Date....Biometrics.....Approved
PAULA_C...............07/23/14......07/28/14......08/28/14......--/--/--
Is there an issue with the Vermont Service Center? It seems to be taking longer that the CSC.
Colombia in da house!!!
I don't think there is an issue, the average wait time posted on USCIS website is 6 months so it looks like January will be the magic month for many with early surprises for some along the way. Wishing you and everybody else the best of luck!
-
I am not complaining but just an observation.
On the bio letter it says they advise 14 days before the appointment.
In Maryamm and our case...no they didn't lol.
-
wow so RAMSEEKER AND USER22 have their Bio dates and we all share the same NOA1 date from VSC....does this mean our Bio letter is in the mailbox???
I will let y'all know.....
I couldn't wait until I was done working from home. I checked the mail and there was the Bio letter scheduled for 08/18/2014!
Can somebody please update that? Thank you.

You are right. I just checked the mail....we are still waiting for biometrics letter.

UPDATE: As many others today....NOA1 received today with 07/21 date!
-
Yep! your NOA1 (1 year extension) should be on it's way! Good luck to you.
Appreciate that KASH2011!

I have an update but it's nothing to put on the ongoing chart. Our packet arrived at VSC on 07/19/2014 and I see today that they deducted my check from my account (pending) so I guess at the very least that means the application was completed correctly. Waiting for NOA.....
-
We sent out our I-751 to VSC on 07/15 which has an expected delivery date of 07/19. I will keep the thread posted of any future activity. Good luck everyone!

1. I sent pictures, but you don't have to.
2. Yes. Do it ASAP coz you want to make sure she gets the receipt before her status expires.
Thanks LindaC1990 for your prompt reply I'm hoping to send this out Saturday morning but if affidavits are not ready it will have to wait until next week. Looking at other people's timelines it looks like the NOA1 is sent out within a week so that's good to know.
Now with the NOA1, is that the proof we will need to show in the airport after her green card expires if we were to fly to Colombia after 9/11/14?
Sorry for all these questions....
-
Hi friends!
I too will be sending my packet soon to VSC. I'm still awaiting for my two affidavits to get notarized. I have a couple of questions before I send....
1) Did you all send pictures? The instructions specifically say documents so I wasn't sure and
2) My wife's conditional residency expires 9/11 (I know) it's ok that I send this anytime now before 9/11/14 right?
Thanks everybody and good luck!

I am going through a similar experience.
They started working on my passport renewal application on Monday, August 13.
On Friday, August 24 the status update changed and says I should receive my passport on or about 08/29/2012 (routine service not expedited).
This is perfect because I plan to travel early September as well.
Keep checking the application status.
Good luck!
Update: I received my passport today in the mail (08/28/2012) one day ahead of schedule.
My wife was also approved at her interview today so just GREAT news all around!!

Hello everybody,
Very surprised i received an e-mail containing the appointment letter and instructions...
We got the interview for September 20, 2012 at 12:30 pm.
I don't understand this at all, but we are very grateful for this appointment.
As you guys know they said that my case was still in NVC waiting for the embassy, that the
Embassy is already scheduled that i will hear from them after sept.15 and the appointment for
somewhere in Oct.
Well this is what we got, i guess you never know with this processes.
Thank you all for your support.
F&P
That is EXCELLENT news!! Congrats!
And you are right about their weird processing. Other cases that were completed after me in NVC got earlier interview dates in August than my wife. If you remember my case was completed on June 19 and the interview set for August 28 (now 4 days away!). Now if you look at Mike & Lizeth's profile their case was completed on June 22 and their interview already happened on August 16. The same goes for Daniel & Naudy, case completed June 21, interview was August 9. Of course I am not hating, I'm happy for everyone going through this and getting approved but wished our journey could have been completed earlier like a FIFO (first in first out) rule, seems only fair.
Anyway congrats again and good luck to everyone!

The calendar is on their website. You need to go in and register, read your instructions and go in and register then when you pay you can schedule your interview. As of this morning the soonest available interview is Sept. 20th.
Ron,
I believe those applying for the K-1 visa can in fact register, pay, view the calendar, and choose their interview date.
But for those of us applying for IR-1/CR-1 it is handled between NVC and Bogota Embassy.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yay!!!! How funny I went on USCIS website like I do daily around 1PM to check the status and see Card Was Ordered To Be Produced - On February 25, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number EACXXXXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. Then I got a text at 1:30 that the status has updated. And then the e-mail arrived at 1:31. I wonder if the letter will be in the mail....?
