  1. Looking for friends does not equate to dating. While some may have those intentions, it can be hurtful and disheartening to those truly trying to find some people to socialize with in their new town.

See if Round Rock has a facebook. My cousin lives near there, I know it's a pretty tight knit area so it may be hard to meet new people. Try facebook, or try hanging out somewhere where you feel people may have a common interest with you, book stores, cafes, gaming places, anything like that.

Thanks for being supportive. Been looking around and thought I would check here too.

She is not looking for dating.

She is far from home and looking for other Filipinos in Texas.

It's a perfectly legitimate question to post in this section.

Thank you for your kind support.

  2. That's what I mean... it shouldn't be random. Some lucky couples are getting approved while the rest of us have to wait and wait and wait.. It will be 7 months for us on the 23rd of this month! The process should be more fair to those who applied first. Is it the case worker who is just slow? taking a vacation? or just not doing his job??!! maybe some other case workers are faster and that is why other visas are getting approved.

  3. We are in the exact same situation as you. We got our first NOA on June 23, 2011. The USCIS website states that their processing goal is 5 months and so we called them a month ago to see what was going on. They told us that they were working on june 16 and that we should hear from them within two weeks to a month. Yesterday (a month later) we called them again and we got the same answer "we are processing June 16, wait a month and call again". My fiance told the operator that we got the exact same answer a mont ago and she said to wait only two weeks this time before calling again.

This is frustrating because we can see that ppl from July and August are getting approved now through USCIS. What happened to the the July cases? I have been wrecking my brain to find an answer to the question. Maybe the operator got sick and are therefore behind? Maybe our case are just difficult (though we have not gotten any RFE's) Hmmmm I am just as lost as you.

I hope it helps to know that you are not alone

Its helps to know we're not alone, but very frustrating to see other visas getting approved that applied after july!? I find it hard to believe when keeping telling me they are still working on June 16 visas?? I already tried to contact my local congressman with no reply. In about 10 days it will be 7 months!! with no update. Although I dont wish anything bad on other couples who already got their approvals.. It bothers me more to know others are getting approvals who applied after us??! Should this process be in the order they are recieved?? not just random cases getting approved? I dont believe our case is difficult or unique. The long wait is just torture at this point... especially watching others getting approved..
