Yeah, thanks for that !

Thank you ! I had given myself a deadline of Saturday to receive it before I change my flight. Fortunately I can change it up to 2 hours before I take the flight.
What a nightmare, we have plans for halloween and everything, I just want to get over there now
Thanks for the advice

I had to send in some additional information to the embassy, I had only taken my short birth certificate to the interview (didn't know I had two) so I had to get a copy of my long one and courier it in.
I since haven't heard anything about my visa or whether we have been approved.
I am due to fly out on the 30th of October and wondering whether I should change my flight or not.
Dates:
Interview 9th October
Courier picked up additional information 12th October
Flight date 30th October
Has anyone had a similar situation to this? If so how long did it take for the visa to come through?
I'm getting quite worried now because of my flight.
I'm hoping that its all just being processed and that if there was a problem with it they would have written to me about it.
I've called the embassy a few times and also the courier but no one knows anything. Apparently there is only a certain amount of information they have access to on my case so can't really tell me if we've been approved or not.
Very frustrating

We had to wait a couple of weeks before our "packet" came through. Just be aware its not actually a packet of info it is just a letter stating what documents you're required to send and also your new case number.
This link was really helpful for things that you can do whilst you are waiting for your letter http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/
I got my vaccinations updated as needed in advance of my medical. And my fiancé got all the financials prepped so that when he came to visit me he had them ready to bring over.
This link is generally a good helping start off point of what to expect prior to your interview. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html
We haven't used an attorney but have some close friends who have been able to help who have also gone through a similar process. This website is very very helpful and sometimes attorney's can be more of a hindrance than a help, so I am lead to believe.
Don't panic about getting the letter through, it will come through but get the forms filled out in advance and go and get all vaccinations sorted and passport photos taken.
Good luck ! : )x
P.s. i'd written this without fully reading all the previous threads so apologies if i'm repeating info that has already been said and not fully understanding your situation.
Hope all goes well!

Thanks again for helping. We have written a letter asking for an extension so fingers crossed!

Thank you, this is really helpful.
Yes I need to send these off asap, really worried that the schedule is running out.
Do you think it would help to hand deliver the documents rather than posting?

Hi guys
Just wondering, I have now filled out the following forms:
DS-230 Part 1
DS-156
DS-156K
DS-157
DS-2001
Had my medical today also.
SO my question is, do I send ALL those forms off to the embassy or do I only send the DS-2001 and the DS-230 Part 1? I've read different things about what to send and when.
Thanks : )x

We've been asked to provide proof of our engagement on the DS-156K form for the K1_Visa.
Has anyone any idea how we can prove this i.e. what is acceptable proof?
Thanks : )x

Perfect! Thanks guys. I fly from Heathrow direct to LA when I go so I can just enter in my new home town!!!! : )

I want to book my flights over to the US (L.A) for when I move. I heard that you have to fly into New York first to cross the border and then fly internally onto L.A. Does anyone know if this is correct or not?
Many thanks
: ) x

We called the NVC and they haven't received anything yet so we've had to forward a photograph of our approval letter to the research department at the NVC as it was over the 15 days. We will await to hear back from them!

I agree with MrsOyetunji. She is only trying to advise people that VSC is in fast process for those who are waiting. Too many unnecessary opinions here sometimes.
Congratulations on your marriage !!
Wishing you all the very best of luck
