I disagree, unless something has changed. My wife asked to pick up, and was told that she could pick up at Fedex in Kiev, but not at the embassy. So we did stick around a couple of days to get the visa, visiting and calling Fedex until it arrived.
Not sure if anything changed, just saying what we did, and that was exactly 1 month ago. Point is, the OP can call and ask if they can pick it up, which they should be able to.

Hi,
Yes your fiancee can pick up the visa from the embassy. She has to request it though. Since my wife's town is pretty far from the embassy and since fedex does not deliver to her town, she requested to have it picked up instead.

I called DoS today to find out if we have an interview yet... nothing. I usually don't let these drones on the other end of the phone get to me too much, but the chick today REALLY got my goat.
I asked how much of a notice to people usually get so travel plans can be made. Canada is a really big country and we are on the opposite side from Quebec.
"Well if your husband really wants his green card, you'll find a way to make things work" ######.
Then I hung up.
Yea, the couple times I called the DOS, I too had a bad experience. They enjoy talking down to us, and are always rude
So i called NVC this morning to see if they scanned in my IV packet yet and Abby told me that the case was complete as of this morning... I freaked out hung up with her and decided I needed confirmation. LOL, Sandy confirmed it so case complete for me!!!
Count me in for waiting for an interview now. I'm so freakin excited!!! Still haven't told the hubby

Unless they changed something, K-1s and CR-1s were being handled in the "immigrant visa" section and they had the same appoitments. There were 5 other couples/applicants when we went and two of them were CR-1s.
I am a bit confused about you saying they are still accepting K-1 appointments but not CR-1s. Maybe they changed how they do it?
Well my wife is a member of another forum, similar to visajourney but it is Russian. Over there she sees many K1 filers from Ukraine that are still receiving as we speak interview dates in Kyiv between the dates of 8 May - 15 May, which made us believe that the embassy there has not reached full capacity for the month.

I appreciate everyone's input and feedback. @Gary, I will not call it "visa regret" but yes, before I started the whole process, I was given some bad information (before visajourney). The past is the past and we cannot change what has happened. Now I am looking toward the future and cannot wait until I see my wife again

I have never had anything against you, and I actually look forward to reading the stories you share with all of us here in the RUB section, so I am actually surprised to see you respond to my post like this.

Just called DOS, representative told me they are "all done scheduling" she didn't state whether it was for May or what not. However, she said they generally schedule all the interviews on one date. I don't know if you guys are getting the same information, just thought I would share.
Yup, I was told the same thing today, well everything except that it is done on one date.

Never ever ever compare yourself to a K1 case. They undergo completely different processing.
And honestly, just because you're married doesn't mean that those fiance cases don't love each other less than you do. The only difference between a fiance and a spouse is a little paper saying you're married. That's it.
I understand that they go through different processing, and I was not comparing or trying to say they love each other less, just a simple question. WHY do we get second preference when it comes to interview scheduling? WHY can't we schedule our own interviews as well? WHY do we have to hear an operator tell us to wait 2-3 weeks more to be scheduled for another month when there ARE dates available at our embassy right now. If it sounded like an attack to K1 filers, I apologize, but I am frustrated knowing that I have to wait until May 14 to be scheduled for "sometime" in June..while the embassy has dates available now...just because NVC is "done" scheduling.

I just don't think that this is fair to us all who are ALREADY married. I am not taking anything away from K1 filers, but I would think and hope that couples who are married would have some sort of preference over couples that MIGHT get married. 
On top of that, they are able to schedule themselves an interview date, while we have to go through NVC
Again, this is not meant to be an attack to K1 filers, because at the end of the day, we all want the same thing. That is to be with our loved ones and as soon as possible. My only complaint is, why are IR1/CR1 filers not allowed to schedule their own appointment like K1ers can, and why must we have to wait for NVC to decide when to schedule us? I can go into more detail, but I think I wrote enough in two posts.

I spoke to a supervisor at USCIS. I was told that the file is still there and will be sent out eventually. I was told that it can take 60 to 90 days to send the files to NVC. I don't know what it is that I can do.

I know they are lying. I just don't know what I can do. I am so pissed that people whose cases were approved after mine are already getting case numbers when there is no sign of mine even leaving USCIS.
Can you speak to a supervisor at both USCIS and NVC and have them find your file and send it out if it is still there?

Well I wish I could be that optimistic. I don't know, I have lost all hope now.
I called NVC and they said it still has not arrived. Called USCIS and they just kept on telling me it usually takes a few months for the case to move to NVC. They are telling me to call the NVC after 4 weeks. I don't know who to contact. Congressman has not replied. :despair:
They are lying that it can take a few months to get there, and your proof is all of us here and everyone before us. I wish I can offer some other sort of advice. I would not be as calm as you are now if I was in the same situation
