  1. You will get a 2 years conditional GC, if your AOS is approved before 7/7/2013. Then you can to file I-751, 90 days before the expiry of your Green Card (check the expiry date of the GC, after you receive).

However if your AOS drags beyond 7/7/2013, then you will get a 10 yrs GC, as you would have completed 2 years of marraige as on the date of your AOS approval.

Thanks a lot guys for your reply! Hopefully the interview will go well and my GC expiry date will be 7/7/2013.

  2. Hi guys,

Would you guys please advice me on my situation:

    - Married to my wife who is a US citizen on 07/07/2011 in Florida (I was on F1 Status)

    - I got a very good financial job in Beijing so I went back home in the end of 03/2012.

    - My wife went back with me for 2 months then came back to the States after realizing that she's pregnant and we both know being in the States with the family is better for her and our baby

    - I worked in Beijing for 8 months then came back to Florida end of 11/2012 with a B1 Visa.

    - Filed for AOS in 01/2013 and got my fingerprints done on 02/25/2013

My question is if everything went smoothly with my AOS interview, would I still be granted a 2 year green card with a condition? If so then should I file for Condition Removal 90 days before our 2nd anniversary which is 07/07/2013 or the 22 months start again from 11/2012 ?

Please disregard the complexity of my timeline. I would appreciate your advices very much.

Thanks again for your time and I look forward to seeing your comments.

  3. First I would like to thanks all for your time reading my tread and answer my questions. Its a miracle for me to find this forum and I appreciate your help with all of my heart.

So I got married to my girlfriend who is the greencard holder on July. We decided to not file anything until I graduate from school (3 weeks ago) and for her to pass her citizenship test (2days ago). To start the process We have already opened our joint bank account and change all of our address to a same address on July. However, after becoming an us citizen she has changed her first name. My question is how would that change the process as Im putting together the application to adjust my status? Do I need to change her name on our bank account asap and include the name change paper work with my application? Should I need help from an attorney if my case could be complicated with the name change?

Thanks again for your help. I look forward to seeing your reply soon.

    Kevin
