  1. Hello everyone!

I am planning to send my AOS file these days(from an F1 visa), but the more I read about G-325a the more confused I get!

Please tell me if I am right... I should send only one G-325a, completed by me (alien), my husband(American citizen) doesn't have to complete one!

This is my first marriage, and second for my husband. I should send his divorce papers(certified copies), right?

    Thank you so, so much!!!

  2. "Admission to the U.S. and your Duration of Stay

Upon arriving at a port-of-entry and when admitted, a CBP officer places a small white card, Arrival-Departure Record, Form I-94 or a small green card, Form I-94W for VWP travelers, in your passport. This card is very important as it shows permission to be in the U.S. On this card, the CBP officer records either a date or duration of status (D/S) in the lower right hand corner. If your I-94 or I-94W contains a specific date that signifies the date you must exit the U.S. Some students, exchange program participants, and temporary workers (e.g., foreign diplomats) will be admitted for D/S. If you have D/S on your Form I-94, you may remain in the U.S. as long as you continue your course of studies, remain in your exchange program, or qualifying employment. The date or D/S notation, shown on your Arrival-Departure Record, I-94 or I-94W is the official record of your authorized length of stay in the U.S. You cannot use the visa expiration date in determining or referring to your permitted length of stay in the U.S."

    I would write "D/S".

    Thank you very much!!!

  3. No, my J1 Visa did not have a 2-year Home Residency Requirement.

After 2 years with J1, I changed it with M-1 for almost 3 years.

For the last 2 years or so I have been in US with F-1 which is about to expire.

Is it important to send my I-130 and I-485 before my F-1 expires?

-and no, I did not claim to be an US citizen. It is a small shop that needed help, they liked me, hired me without many question and only asked me to tell them my SSN. I have been working with them for 6 years now.

  4. the kiss of death... I could not really understand that! I am really stressed out with all these and this did not help!

Anyway, I came to the US 8 years ago with a J1 visa. I got my SSN the first month in US. I worked with my SSN and paid taxes, although I fave been with an F1 visa and I am not supposed to work. I did not steal anybody's SSN.

I will write down my employer's infomation. Should I send them copies of my taxes also, or should I have with me for the interview only?

Thank you Harpa Timsah for your help so far!

  5. Hello! I have 2 questions.

I am with a student visa, I got married in November 2011 and I am starting my I-130 and AOS process.

The G-325A form asks to list the employers for the last five years. I have worked without work authorization with my SSN for the past 6 years and paid taxes. I intend to write the truth. How is this going to affect me?

    I-130 form - question 14

"Date authorized stay expired, or will expire, as shown on Form I-94 or I-95" -(My I-94 says Class F1 Until D/S) Should I write the expiration date from my visa or the expiration date from my I-20?

    Thank you!!
