Wife became US Citizen yesterday!
Thank you all for your help and support! We hope everyone else's final part of the journey is speedy and without any problems! -
Wanted to update this thread in case others had the same question in the future. My wife took her interview last week and was approved! I did not come with her and she brought with her all the documents we had submitted earlier via mail. They did not request to see any of the financial proof documents we brought and they already had them in front of them. So I guess to be safe you could bring them but you probably will not need to unless for some reason they did not think what you submitted prior was sufficient proof!

My wife was just approved yesterday! She has her Oath scheduled for September 17th!
For those wondering they did not require any financial proof and they had all the documents on file that we mailed in (actually the lady was laughing because we had sent in bank statements for last 3 years and she had to number each page individually!) I did not go with my wife but she said it went very well and everything was really easy!

Sorry if this has been repeated but just a bit nervous because of an RFE during the removal of conditions on our green card. We've been married only 3 years and we had an RFE when removing conditions because they said we had not shown enough evidence of "financial intermingling" of joint accounts. We ended up submitting bank statements for every month showing joint ownership since our marriage (at first had sent only first month and last month) as well as credit card transaction history and our RFE was lifted and we were approved for the 10 year green card. To avoid problems when we submitted the N-400 we submitted again bank statements for every month since marriage as well as all credit card history. Will they have all of that paperwork at the interview or do we need to bring it with us again? Is it even necessary? It was roughly 200+ pages and I don't want to reprint it all again if not necessary. I will also bring tax transcripts to be safe.
Just concerned for any delays because on the interview letter checklist we got there was this clause "If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, bring proof that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for at least 3 years at the time of filing for naturalization and proof that you and your spouse lived in marital union for at least 3 years at the time of filing for naturalization."
That last sentence worries me because it is very vague. Do I need to reprint all the paperwork we sent in as evidence with our N-400? I know if they need more paperwork they will ask but I don't want to delay things and would like to be prepared.

I still think it's kind of silly that we report the "Interview letter" day as the day it comes in the mail and not the day it was actually scheduled (because mail times can vary) but I will play along...received the official letter in the mail today even though it was scheduled on the 20th. The interview will be August 27th!

Haha thanks for the correction. It's kind of silly because technically the date the change occurs (which you would see listed online) is more accurate than when you receive something in the mail because of delays in the mail process but I guess those details aren't really that critical in the long run!

Wow this is moving a long so fast! A few days ago I got the we will schedule your interview soon (in line) and I just got an online notification that our interview date has been scheduled and will be mailed to us!

Thanks Jimmy.. I personally want to go do the biometrics... Atleast I don't have to wonder why I'm skipping it.. Will wait till Fri..
Why force something that may not be required of you? The best course of action is to do what the letters tell you to do. Your experience may be different then others because of circumstances (as others have said if your fingerprints are still valid it may waive the fingerprinting a second time).
We are going to do what USCIS tells us to do. if they schedule an interview and don't ask for fingerprints then that is what they want us to do. If they schedule us for fingerprints then we will do them. The Department of Homeland security isn't going to mess this up so just trust the system

Ours too also say "Upon receipt of all required record checks you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office".
We removed conditions last summer and the biometrics was June 9th, 2014 (slightly more than a year ago). How long are they valid for?

Just got our Green Card in the mail (Approved 11/19)!

Just an update, even though we were approved a few days ago our online case status still shows no update as of April 28 so don't take that message seriously!

Hi KnowledgeIsPower, can you tell us a little more about the RFE and what you sent in in response to that? We haven't heard anything back. We just want to prepare ourselves in case we get a RFE. Thanks!!!
I got an RFE because I only submitted Bank statements from 2 months (latest and earliest months since marriage), rather than the "whole time we were married" as they asked. I felt we provided more than enough evidence - Joint Title to the Car, Joint Car Insurance Policies, Tax Returns, in addition to the bank statements and photocopy of Credit Cards.
They said that I have not demonstrated the credit card account is used by both me and my spouse and that a copy of the card is not evidence of that. Problem is statements are generated only in the primary account holder's name (mine). And an authorized user is never printed on a statement and the bank will not do so for you if you request it.
Luckily of our 9 credit cards, 1 of them, our American Express card, has a joint credit card statement that allows you online to show both your spending (because Amex assigns a different card number to the authorized user so you can track their spending specifically). If I didn't have that there would be no way I could prove we both use the cards so I am very lucky to have that as most of our other credit cards do not have such an option!
I ended up mailing our entire bank statements since 2012 (60 pages worth!), airline tickets showing we have taken trips together, and more pictures, in addition to the credit card statement from Amex. I guess it was enough for them! We don't have kids, my wife is not on the home deed because she did not have a credit history at the time, and I think getting affidavits were an unnecessary hassle...I mean really, anyone's friends can lie for them and claim they're telling the truth.
It seemed from the RFE they cared more about financial "intermingling" and since my wife was not on our mortgage they didn't have much proof of it. I guess it makes sense because anyone can add someone to the bank account but unless you can prove you both used the account it doesn't mean much to them.

I am sorry to hear that, I did not send any bank statements, i did send two credit cards with both names in it. Did they change the online notice too or you just got the letter in the mail?
No the online notice didn't change just a letter in the mail. They claim that the credit cards with both names on it isn't "proof" that the spouse is utilizing the card so they want joint statements. Problem is that an authorized user is never printed on a statement and the bank will not do so for you if you request it.
Good luck with yours, hopefully you have other information they deem acceptable. I am going to mail in tomorrow our entire bank statements since 2012 (60 pages worth!), airline tickets showing we have taken trips together, and more pictures. Hopefully that will be enough. We don't have kids, my wife is not on the home deed because she did not have a credit history at the time, and I think getting affidavits would be an unnecessary hassle...I mean really, anyone's friends can lie for them and claim they're telling the truth.
I was able to find joint credit card statements from another American Express card of ours. The nice thing with that is online there is an option to show both your spending (because Amex assigns a different card number to the authorized user so you can track their spending specifically). If I didn't have that there would be no way I could prove we both use the cards so I am very lucky to have that as most of our other credit cards do not have such an option!

Vermont is starting to process. I just received an RFE =/ While disappointed it makes sense (I only submitted Bank statements from 1 month, rather than the "whole time we were married" as they asked).
Pretty upset because I felt we provided more than enough evidence (Joint Title to the Car, Joint Insurance Policies, Tax Returns) in addition to the bank and photocopy of Credit Cards.
Also they said that I have not demonstrated the account is used by both me and my spouse. How can I do that? Statements are generated only in the primary account holder's name (mine).

It never ended up being a problem for me. My case was completed within 2 weeks (look at my timeline). One thing I would recommend is not hitting the "View" button again just incase it re-submits it every time. Since you've already reviewed it then you are sure it's correct, just don't worry about it and wait
You will be fine it will be processed normally. I don't think it re-submits it every time you view it (it didn't seem to do that for me since my case finished so fast) but just incase try not to view it again. My IV invoice ended up coming about a week or so later (two weeks from my DS-261)

We weren't asked for any additional documentation as they had everything in front of them from when we filed our application for the N-400. I would bring some just incase but don't over do it, just maybe tax transcripts and a few bank statements to be safe? Unless there were additional documents you wanted to submit but forgot.
