They have to report back to the cuban immigration office wherever they live 10 days before departure...well at least thats in Las Tunas. I am supposing it's Standard Operating Procedure for every province

then you buy the plane ticket and got to report back to immigration 10 days before departure date. couldnt be easier right?lol

then they notify you through the mail when the Carta Blanca is ready(it took my fiancee a week and a half)then you go to the bank and pay Carta Blanca and Medical. go back to immigration office and show them the receipts from the bank and they stamp the passport ready to buy the plane ticket.

they apply for Carta Blanca after they get the passport with the visa on it cause they got to take the passport with the visa to the cuban immigration office.

Carta Blanca received Monday july 30th. Plane ticket already booked for august 14th.

age difference is not a problem unless its like too much...maybe 20 years is a little too much Idk. eight years is not a lot. Getting nervous is what might get you in trouble, cause they might think you are up to something. Remember if its real love it shows...no matter the age difference. these people are trained to know the diference.

you are right on them, except there is no 160.00 for a visa, just 240.00 for the interview...thats it. you dont pay for the visa.plane ticket(depends where they are flying from, my fiancee flies from holguin and its 301.00) and airport fee which is 25.00

150.00 and it takes 1 to 2 weeks...or so they tell you. Cuban government has been talking about eliminating that Carta Blanca thing but nothing so far. Its the last step before buying the plane ticket

everybody going out of cuba needs what they call Carta Blanca. Its the cuban government exit visa allowing them to leave the country.once they get the visa they need to apply for a Carta Blanca to be able to buy the plane ticket..and my case is a K1 visa just like your. just my fiancee has a son thats coming with her.

I mean PLANE tickets.lol.Her visa was ready since july 13th but her son's took 3 more days to be ready, supposedly because of power outages at the embassy.even monday she went there and they said his visa not printed yet.I had to called the embassy and talk to a CO 5 min later they called her to go back and pick her son's visa up.

my fiancee I-197 expired exactly the same day they scheduled her interview for. so Sarah might be right though I think you should call them. (537)834-4400. It takes time to get through to them but I have done it. I tend to believe it doesnt matter that the I-797 will expire before the interview otherwise they would give you more time other than just a few months.Good luck

about the affidavit..I just filled the form and attached the last 3 years' taxes. I do have property and bank accounts but I didnt give them any of that. interview is 240.00 medical exam is 400.00 you dont pay for the visa. just the cuban exit visa 150.00

they didnt ask a lot of questions. but every case might be different. my fiancee has a 5 year old son and he was there with us. He was answering questions for her. The CO interviewed them first and when she asked What do you do when he comes visit? My fiancee son gave her the whole story. Everything we did in Varadero and how much he liked it.

THANKS!!They did take the affidavit but when I gave them the evidence package they said they didnt need it, which I wasnt expected. Yeah it was a long journey...I did go to the interview with her and I strongly recommend everybody to be there for their love ones. It is really stressful for them and something might happen that they might not know how to handle.

Interview went very good. They didnt ask for a single piece of evidence of relationship. Visa will be ready thursday july 12th. Hopefully she will be here by the end of the month or beginning of next month.
