We live in military housing so we cant really leave our dog outside plus we also live in Louisiana and my poor girl would just die out there in the heat all day! She is much happier inside with the nice cool AC. We had a lot of problems with her being left home alone when we first got her (she went through the trash, she ripped up bedding, went to the bathroom all over the house etc) but thats because she has seperation anxiety. In the end we had to crate train her, a lot of people find it harsh and dont really like the idea but from one dog lover to another trust me your house and your sanity will benefit from it. Her crate is now also her "safe place" which she actuly loves to be in, she will often sit in there with the door open and just chill out chewing on her bone or with a toy in the bedroom with us while were watching tv in there and when we tell her "go to your bed" she will go in there stright away and sleep through the night no problem. So all in all it was a great decision for us.
