I wasn't able to be there for the first interview, and apparently they didn't like the way wennie couldn't answer some of the questions without having to look it up in the documents (my salary for instance), and her ability to speak english gets worse if she's stressed, as she was by the end of the first interview. When I called to talk with the consular officer after, he said they were concerned about the education level difference (apparently getting a Ph.D. makes some consular officers think they can say whom you're allowed to marry). After talking with the consular officer on the phone for about 20 minutes he said he thought it would be approved given the information I supplied, but it still took a month to get through administrative processing. They wouldn't say way, I called about once a week to inquire, and was only told "we're still filling out the paperwork".
Do you plan to send your wife to school once she reaches the states so she too will get some respect like you? Or does the huge education gap not bother you a bit?

No, but we are K1

Me too! after only 1 day of AP status, i got this:
U.S. Department of State
NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATIONIssuedApplication ID or Case Number: MNL201312065 01 MNL Case Creation Date: 19-Sep-2013 Status Updated Date: 24-Sep-2013Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received your passport in more than 10 days after your interview, please contact the Embassy call center at (02) 982-5555 and (02) 902-8930, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to track the delivery of your passport. For more information, please visit U.S. Embassy Manila. -
ah ok... thanks for the helpful post. so after AP is issued? and when it says issued we should be getting it pretty soon then?
-
was this an email you received? or text?
I am on edge since we passed our sept 17th interview
No no, this is what it says after u enter your info here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?
We passed ours just a day after you but are expecting delays cuz USEM was apparently closed last Thurs & Fri due to the flooding situation... check your status and see what yours says...
-
You are far from it actually having an affect on your application anyway so you need not worry.
-
You probably got transcripts
I got 3 years worth for free.....I think I faxed in the request
Her interview went perfectly fine with them
I second that!!!
People that say they need W2's are full of it............... esp. since tax transcripts are more official & DIRECTLY SENT from IRS.
-
how exactly are we "screwed for hurting the poor sticker-person's feelings"
i ask you the same question.... sure, the U.S. gov't doesn't tolerate MURDER, but has it actually stopped that either???
Your logic is flawed.
-
oh but how about if we play not to have money to bribe, remember the name, then report it later? i guess the prob is we might get delayed if she tries to fight it...???
-
uhm, then we TIED for the record............... quit being philosophical.
-
...and this time try to actually fill in the info CORRECT.
and fyi: DONT RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
yeah just wait to do it online after it gets put into the system... over the phoen is a big waste of time as they ask for all the beneficiary's info and they cant even tell u the dates unless they "confirm the appointment date"............. which makes no sense bec its better to maximize your options and see ALL the dates that are open instead of stick with a random one THEY select for you.........
and i dont know why sijonahto you would put YOUR info instead of your fiance's.... really dont know how to clear that up or what to tell u there..... good luck is all i can say
-
Yup IRS transcripts are fine.... dont feed into the hype that 1040's are needed to bec the transcripts are OFFICIALLY SENT by irs so they cant be duplicated!! furthermore that's all my fiance brought and we passed with flying colors............................ in only 3 days btw med. 2 and interview the 3rd i think we set the record for quickest approval medi + interview ahhaha
-
collins!
wow ang aga mo! but naman 1 day lang k dun ah!
-
ohh... oct 15 pala.... nax! peo much better sana u did interview same trip as medical para 1 trip lang db?? peo wlaang prob siguro para sayo kc nasa manila kana ah! san k pala jan?
-

congrats.. kelan yung interview date mo??

so what are the next steps from this point and what exactly does this status mean?? is the next step "issued"?? we tried calling 2GO and it's not yet in their hands either bec they said thur & fri embassy was closed due to the flooding scare.........
so once again........... how much longer do we need to wait??????????
-
Kingdom:
what hotline # did you call for 2GO? we're having trouble reaching them! ours JUST changed to "administrative processing" this morning so how long does it typically take to change to ISSUED??? and at what point does it change to "issued" and when does 2go actually mail it out......................
hmm i just hope the embassy doesn't lose her passport.... but i imagine they go thru very secure processes to keep watchful eye on each and everyone's APPROVED passport??? anyone know?
-
so what should my fiance do if they try to bribe HER rite there on the spot?!?!??!
if she doesn't tip 1-2K then they'll refuse to issue her stamp and she just wasted the money.... and that's the only time we're supposed to email the above???
how should one act if addressed with bribery firsthand??
-
