  1. Hi everyone. We received the dreaded NIPW letter back in September. We adjusted status almost a year ago (May 15, 2014) and today we got the text that my husband card was ordered to be produced!!

Having this forum has saved my sanity most days. Just knowing we were all in this together somehow made it better for me.

I hope to see others being approved soon. This waiting is just horrible! Good Luck everyone!

  2. We received our Waiver letter September 10th and the letter basically said there is a delay not related to our case and to wait 6 months...blah blah blah. Six months pass and I call USCIS and do a service request and we get a letter in the mail saying there is a delay that is not related to our case. Same old story. My husband's combo card expires in July so we are starting the renewal process. Have any of you done this yet? I have a checklist of sorts but wanted to check with you guys since we are on the same timeline. I have heard you can renew 120 days before but also 90 days before. The end of this month will be 120 days for us so I will get this in the mail fairly soon.

Here is the checklist I have. Please let me know if this is correct or if its missing anything.

    - Photocopy of "tear-off" portion sheet provided with original EAD (the page with the 3 bar codes on it)
    - EAD Cover Page
    - G-1145 Form for E-notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
    - I-765 - Application for Employment Authorization
    - 2 passport photos
    - Copy of I-94 Arrival/Departure record (front and back)
    - Copy of current Employment Authorization Document Card (front and back)
    - Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action for the I-485
    - Copy of passport biographical details page
    - Photocopy of "tear-off" portion sheet provided with original EAD (the page with the 3 bar codes on it)
    - AP Cover Page
    - G-1145 Form for E-notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
    - I-131 - Application for Travel Document (Advanced Parole)
    - Supplemental page for Part 7, on the I-131
    - 2 passport photos
    - Copy of current Employment Authorization Document (front and back)
    - Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action for the I-485
    - Copy of K-1 Visa
    - Copy of passport biographical details page

    Thank you!

    Christie

  3. Hello!

I am hoping someone can help me with an checklist of what we need to renew the EAD/AP combo card. I have read that you can renew up to 120 days or 90 days? I am unclear about that.

The list that I have found (from another VJ couple) is as follows:

I am hoping someone can let me know if this checklist is correct and how long in advance was the renewal sent. We are approaching 120 days from expiration so I want to get this in the mail fairly soon.
Thank you so much for the help!

  4. Hello everyone!

We received our Waiver letter five months ago ? I had a question.... Of everyone that received the waiver letters did you have interviews before you got the Green Card? Or did you just find out by checking your status online then it arrived in the mail? I know it depends on the individual case and situation but I was just looking for experiences as how this process happens.

We are compiling our paperwork just in case we have an interview. I know it may be a long while but was curious as to how many actually had an interview after receiving this letter?

  5. I got my biometrics appointment letter in the mail today!!! We are in Buffalo, has anyone had any experience or heard anything from that office about walkins?.. Uscis website hasn't changed from acceptance is this normal too?

I just did a quick search on "Buffalo New York Biometrics early walk in" and come up with a lot of results. Everything I read, it says they DO allow early walk-ins and they were very nice. I think you will be fine :) Good Luck!!

  6. In order to visit this office or to speak with an Immigration Services Officer, we recommend you schedule an INFOPASS appointment on the USCIS website. Persons without appointments will be served between INFOPASS appointments.

Does this mean they accept walk ins???^^^^

I am not sure. We live about five minutes from our local office. We are going to just try and go and see what they say. If not, then we will wait until July 1st (our actual interview date). It won't hurt to try!

  7. I got my biometrics appointment letter in the mail today!!! We are in Buffalo, has anyone had any experience or heard anything from that office about walkins?.. Uscis website hasn't changed from acceptance is this normal too?

We got ours today too!! We are going to try and do a walk-in as well. I read online that our local office (Austin, Texas) accepts walk-ins. We are also still on acceptance and signed up for email and text notifications if there is a change in our status.

Congratulations to everyone!! I am glad to see we are all moving forward.... slowly but surely :)

  8. Please, I called USCIS this morning regards my AOS application, I had to wait for about 60 mins before I was connected to a strange voice, that sounds nothing like USCIS agent, this person can’t even speak proper English, no offence...???

Besides he told me I will have to wait 21 for my check to be clear? like?? Please, can you help me verify this number: 800-375-5283. Thanks

That's the number I called.... complete morons. I know the waiting is hard. I hope soon you will hear something!!

  9. Congrats Christiesalim, did you call or email uscis?

Yes we did call many times!! I do not think that helped us in any way. I talked to a majority of people that did not know anything. It is a wonder they are working there in the first place. I actually got hung up on Friday of last week :ranting: I did email but, did not receive anything back as well. There needs to be a better system in place for sure but, nothing we can do but wait!

  10. We sent it on May 15th and they received it on May 17th. We didn't hear anything since then. I thought it might of been lost or just sitting on some slackers desk. I started calling last week. I got hung up on Friday after waiting on hold for 60 minutes and they didn't want to even speak to me because it hasn't been 30 days. The texts and emails are computer generated. I'm not sure how it all works. Let me know if I can help you in any way. Keep the faith!!

  11. It has been 3 weeks since we mailed our package to the Chicago Lockbox. I called USCIS and talked to a Tier 2 agent and they can not find it in their system. They said it can take up to 30 days before they would see it in their system. Anyone in a similar situation? I do not have much confidence in the individuals I have spoken to at USCIS. Is there someone else I can call? Where does the paperwork go once it leaves Chicago. Thanks for any responses :)

  12. D&F We sent ours on May 15th. We haven't received anything as of yet. Every morning I check my phone and email and every morning I am disappointed. I called USCIS yesterday and they said they can't do anything until it has been 30 days. Our K1 petition went so smoothly. I wish I knew what was going on. Some people that sent theirs after us are getting NOA's and here we are still waiting. Please keep me posted if you can!

Congrats to everyone. I am happy for all of you :)
