  1. Hello Leisa,

I just saw your question on Visa journey about the death certificate request for your's mother case.

I am in the same situation and can't find an answer anywhere.

Could you please advise if you remember what was the resolution for yours mother case in regard to death certificate?

I sent original death certificate of my mother for my father's IR5 application and they are saying its not from the correct authority.

I would really appreciate a response.

    Thanks

  2. Applying for Borther's visa -

He went in to get his DOB certificate and he got nothing (believe me it can happen in INDIA)

He has sent me "not found DOB" certificate NOT his DOB certificate.

Can I use that certificate and other documents to prove that we both have same father as our education certificate has our father name?

    Please help.

You have one piece of information now get the rest following below.

Option 3 from below should work for your case.

    Unobtainable birth certificates

If your birth record is not obtainable for any reason, a certified statement must be obtained from the appropriate government authority explaining why your birth record is unavailable. You must also submit secondary evidence such as:

    • A baptismal certificate that contains the date and place of birth, as well as both parents names (providing the baptism took place shortly after birth)
    • An adoption decree for an adopted child
    • An affidavit from a close relative, preferably your mother, stating the date and place of birth, both parents names, and your mother’s maiden name.

Note: An affidavit executed before an official authorized to take oaths or affirmations must also be provided. More specific information is available from the NVC.

  3. Hello all,

I have applied for my father’s Immigration, have sent the civil documents and paid all fees.

My mother passed away in 2001 and her death was registered in Union council in Lahore, they issued us a death certificate in URDU, which we then submitted to Nadra and they issued us a computerized Death certificate.

Some reason NVC is not accepting this death certificate issued from Nadra and asking for the correct death certificate.

Did any of you have an experience with this kind of situation?

If so what was the solution?

Do we have to submit the URDU version and an English translated copy of it?

If so where to get the translated copy and what are the requirements, does the English version needs to have an Union counsel stamp on it?

Please advise in yours earliest convenience.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    This is the clause from

    Death Certificates

Available. Records of deaths are inconsistent, but, where the death is recorded, a certificate can be obtained from the Registrar of Births and Deaths of the municipality or union council. Cantonment boards in urban areas are also authorized to issue death certificates. As with birth certificates, caution should be used in accepting such documents as authentic. A commonly used substitute is an affidavit signed and witnessed by a "respectable and reliable person," by a police officer not below the rank of Superintendent of Police or a district health officer.

  4. Can you go to the DMV and get a printout of your driving record? That will show if you have anything outstanding. Also how did you pay? Personal check (hopefully)? Usually such records are purged after time. I had to prove I paid a ticket 4 years after the fact and the bank no longer exists. It involved a lot of legwork.

Maybe go to the ticket pay office and say you want to PAY OFF an old ticket. That will get their attention. Then when they see that you owe nothing, say you do not believe them and want a printout.

Thank you for the response, I got the print out of the checks i paid, its shows the ticket numbers I hope USCIS accepts this.

  5. Go to the traffic violations bureau and let them know you specifically want it for your citizenship you pay $10 for the letter and it takes a week.

    Hello Ken,

Thanks for the reply, I called them, and they send me a plain letter which shows ticket numbers and calls out that they are paid and case now closed.

But it doesn't say the date and amount i payed.

Not sure if you got the record from Traffic violation office, but if you do got it, do you remember if it shows the amount and date of tickets.

Please reply, i will really appreciate any input.

    Thanks

I have the record from DMV, it just calls out for ticket date time and location stuff, nothing about whether its paid or not. I think i paid via check, I think USCIS wants to know if the tickets where under $500 and they are paid.

I guess i will go to traffic violation dept., and see if i can get any thing.

Why would USCIS even care about a traffic violation?

Not sure, but they sent me a letter for re-interview and requested proof of payment for the traffic violation tickets and DMV records.

  7.
