  1. My wife just got the response back from jakIV@state.gov. And you were right, they said yes. "You are welcome to come on the interview day". My wife is printing this email right now and will bring it on the interview day to show to the guard. Hope we will not have any further problem.

Thanks so much for the info!!

    Hi guys

I am also welcomed to attend the interview after I sent the email to jakIV@state.gov. thanks Paul&Vha for the tip.

  2. that's the answer i've been looking for :star: ..so i have to wait for 2 weeks :luv: thanks Paul&Vha :)

one more question if you don't mind :P

should i go for my medical exam right away? or should i await instructions from the embassy before doing so?

    thanks before

I believe you need to wait for the interview letter so you can schedule the exam. But dont quote me on this. Perhaps you can call the physician if they allow medical before receiving interview letter.

  3. Hey, yeah the interview was really easy. They just asked my wife a few questions, didn't even want to see any of our extra pictures or anything. The whole interview lasted about 5 minutes.

My wife had her medical exam in late July, and it took like 2.5 weeks for them to get the medical result back to her. My wife had to get 4 vaccinations also.

I don't know if you are going to attend the interview too, but if you are, make sure you email the consulate and ask first, then print the email to show the security guard. He didn't want to let me in but when we showed him that email he had no problem.

We waited about an hour inside for the actual interview. Good luck!

Yes, I will fly to Jakarta to attend the interview. And thanks for tip, I will email the consulate to see if I can go inside with her so she would not be so nervous :) .

So for the medical exam, did it just take 1 day? I didn't know it took that long to get the result. perhaps it is a good idea to get the medical exam cleared a few weeks before the interview. I'll definitely advise her to get medical early.

  4. We will also have interview on September.

We are going with Dr. Hendrik Wiraatmaja for medical exam. He said it will take 3 days to complete. We need to pick it up or he can mail it to me. I will fly for the exam first and fly again for the interview.

I think that's the same physician my wife will have her medical exam since they open saturday. When he told you take 3 days to complete, does it mean she has to go 3 days in a row to the hospital? or is it just 1 day to do all medical and necessary vaccination and then pick up the result in 3 days?

  5. Congrats. Ours will be next September in Jakarta as well. How is the interview? Easy? Also, can I ask when did you have the medical? My wife not sure when to go since she has limited amount of time off from work and she has to fly to Jakarta too. She's thinking to have the exam first then fly again for the interview. She's worried exam may take a few days to complete because her vaccination record not complete.

  6. Me too. i sent the package using First Class Mail with Certified Mail on July 30 and it supposed to be delivered by Aug 2nd, but the only tracking available is the acceptance of the package at the post office. I was worried so I called USPS to research the item and they'll get back to me if they know anything. Perhaps you guys can call USPS customer service too.

  7. Still have not received the IV bill since the NVC reply i received on 7/13. And I am not sure that email is acceptance or not. I am currently waiting for the reply on 2nd DS-3032 I sent last Monday. Regardless, I am going to have my wife mail the actual form from NVC directly by 7/25 if I still don't hear anything from them. It's ridiculous how slow they are.

  8. HELLO JUST GOT MY CASE NUMBER PLUS IIN NUMBER AND SENT THE EMAIL TO NVCINQUIRY@STATE.GOV. MY DS3032!NOW THEY GAVE A BENEFICIARY CASE NUMBER PLUS IIN NUMBER PLUS MY LND2012 NUMBER OR CASE NUMBER!WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS BENEFICIARY CASE NUMBER?IS TO PAY MY FEES?

Yeah, try to login NVC payment portal if the AOS fee has been invoiced. If so, then you can pay and send the AOS package after it showed as being paid. Same thing with IV package after the DS-3032 has been accepted and IV fee has been paid.

  9. I got the following reply from NVC today after sending DS-3032 via email last week.

    Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the

immigrant visa petition: JAKXXXXXXXX filed by XXXXX on behalf of

    XXXXXX.

This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner,

principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an

instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

    Case Number: JAKXXXXXXXX

    Petitioner's Name: XXXXX

    Principal Applicant's Name: XXXXXXX

    Preference Category: CR1

    Your Priority Date: 08Feb2012

    Foreign State Chargeability: INDONESIA

    U.S. EMBASSY

JL. MEDAN MERDEKA SELATAN NO. 3-5

    JAKARTA 10110

    INDONESIA

From what I've been reading, it seems this is "not" an acceptance of DS-3032 but rather the case may be being entered into the system. Also when I try to login, I got the following: You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information.

Should I resend DS-3032 again or wait to see the payment being invoiced?

  10. I'm still waiting for AOS bill to get invoiced since last week after receiving case number and IIN. It seems for me at NVC, everything takes close to 2-4 weeks to get every step done from receiving case from USCIS, to get case numnber/IIN, and now waiting for AOS bill. I already sent DS-3032 by email last week. Hopefully, the AOS and IV bill will come at same time. Why it takes so long? So frustrated....

  11. I received an email from NVC and AOS bill on the same day. (today)

Nice. I guess I just have to wait a little bit longer until I receive the email regarding the AOS bill and DS-3032. As usual, when I called, I need to wait 15-20 business day. Every little steps, there are wait and wait. First NOA2, then receiving file, then case number now this. Can't wait any longer.

  12. Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (NVC Case Number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both) (wife wears hijab, stated "headwear worn daily for religious reasons"

DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary

DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instructions

Photocopy of the Biographic Data Page(s) of Beneficiary’s Passport (also page 4, my wife has a page 4 endorsement with my last name as hers)

Original/Certified Birth Certificate of beneficiary (with an attested translation provided) and a copy

Original/Certified Marriage Certificate and a copy (we did not want to send our Buku Nikah, so we got a form from KUA,"Piagam". It is from KUA (the issuing agency, has stamps, seals, etc..) (with an attested translation provided)

Original/Certified Police Clearance Certificate and a copy (not required according to reciprocity info at DOS...but we sent anyway)

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9216

    Indonesia Reciprocity Schedule (above link)

and of course the photocopies of the civil docs

    hope all this helps!

OK. Thanks for the information. I think I am all set except this one document which does not have English translation. It is a name change of her father. In her birth certificate, her father uses his birth name, but later changed. I have that document of name change, original and certifed copies, but not translated.

Does NVC have someone that understand the language in every native language? I guess they must have, since they are just okay with sending documents with native language if the interview will take place in the native country. so maybe do what you are suggesting which is to translate into English so they can check it.

  13. For those CR1/IR1 applicant with Indonesian spouse, at NVC Stage, do you guys send just original or certified copies + 1 copy each of the civil documents? It's not necessary to translate documents to english right? At NVC stage, it states "All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC"

However there is a link in specific consulate/embassy in Jakarta http://travel.state.gov/pdf/pk3_supplements/JAK-PK3-0001-0801.pdf that states all documents not english must be translated. It looks like an old document, but still can be enforced.

So which are correct? I have all original documents + certified copies + translated documents except 1 document that is not translated to english. I just like to be consistent when sending the documents to NVC later which is to send the original + 1 copy.
